Would you please, please, please, please, please consider letting Disney+ continue with the On Pointe series. I absolutely loved it and have watched the complete series probably 15 times now.
I loved it too, but I also loved the strictly ballet series, which is available on UA-cam. So mixture of the two would be great as I enjoyed seeing it on UA-cam 🙈
Such a treat to see the amazing teachers at SAB passing on the things Mr. B. taught them. Great to see the SAB students taking it all in. I always loved seeing Kay Mazzo, Suki Schorer, and Aesha Ash on stage when I was younger and was very inspired by them.
Many of the teachers I have seen dancing on the NYC Ballet stage years ago, like Kay Mazzo and Aesha Ash and Adam Hendrickson. I remember Dena Abergel, who is in charge of the children's repertory now. I once was invited to sit and watch a class of advanced girls led by Suki Schorer. That was such a privilege. She is a legend at SAB.
Baby, today there is so much in dance for you! You can even start a little class with others using utube! JUST DO IT. Just GO FOR IT. And DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF WITH ANYONE ELSE. Let the music YOU love take you there. Allow it to flow through your body. The one Jesus made. ❤
Could someone explain to me why they all bend their knee when closing from a tondu devant? My teacher always corrects us and tells us to keep our knee straight, but these girls seem to be doing it intentionally? Idk only curious. No criticism to the dancers, they were all beautiful!
Sometimes if you have hyperextended knees it can cause you to need to bend your knee a bit when closing into fifth. Its not ideal but for some girls you have to bend it a bit.
Around 12:35 the guy closest to the camera's jumps are amazing. The quality is awesome.🤩👍 The only thing is, if you watch his feet, @ 12:50, his heels sometimes don't touch the ground and sometimes they do a rebound bounce. 😬 Just watch out for that, could cause injury eventually if continues.
Unfortionately it's balanchine technique, usually in plies the dancers don't put their heels on the ground, one of the main reasons why I strongly dislike balanchine and think it needs to go.
@@Sunflower_vally it wasn't that his heels didn't touch the ground... I saw his heel do a double bounce on the floor. My teacher caught me doing that and I wasn't allowed to jump in class until the exercises she gave me showed correction and strength.
Aesha Ash...I like everything...smelt or dancing like on crystal and datata...everything...small note...Start class with no long cardigan sweater and black tights moment...Suki DANILOVA Kay the. Suzi Pilarre or Tumi etc all walk in right away in a shirt skirt/pants or leotard skirt pink tights
This is an amazing look behind the scenes! But I am curious, it is wonderful that you have teachers of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. But I noticed that especially in the women’s class, the population is mostly Caucasian. Is that because of issues with outreach, tradition, or other factors? There seem to be more male dancers of color in classes and companies - not just yours - than there are female. And also curious about why you think Nyc ballet has never had an African American female principal?
They actually are a very diverse school. Not sure why some of the more known girls weren’t shown in the class but the classes shown were a smaller selection of their classes.
@@rgfan12345 Nope!! Ballet with a mask is terrible and unhealthy and counterproductive for stamina. I take it back it's not ridiculous ...it's asinine.

I did too. I would love to see a second season of On Pointe.

Me too. I'm obsessed.
sameeeeeeee
Me too! I really want to see more! It's so graceful and relatable as I am a ballerina too. It taught me a lot of things!
Aesha Ash…is going to become a legendary SAB teacher just like Suki. Great corrections, thoughtful combos, and attention.
This school is my dream collage and summer program. i wish to be a professional dancer on Broadway. (:

@@emmabarnard5638 That would make sense. I have hyperextension and find it difficult to keep my knees straight as well.
@@emeliahathaway8150 yeah, me to, its so hard to close straight even when you are completely pulled up on your leg

Okay you all need to stop with the lobster claw hands😩
I think that's what they do at SAB. Might be wrong
Hahahaha yes. I know that's the Balanchine style, but it just doesn't look good

What is the point of wearing masks during rehearsal when they will not be worn during performance anyway?
Really? There is a pandemic going on. How many people have died in NY
Do you have any transgender students? If so, at what age level did they transition as a dancer?
Omg get those masks off those poor dancers!
Oh come on… masks???
Please please take off the masks! So unnecessary!
Enough with the masks.... it's ridiculous.
Your comment is ridiculous. Masks appreciated for everyone's health and safety

Thank you!!! Preach!
@@lmarti204 Agreed and so true!
Those masks are hideous. Youngsters this age trying to move should not be wearing them. Ridiculous. So sad.
