I am thinking of getting the sharp version of this sword for test cutting in my garden ( and the zombie apocalypse if it happens ) I think the first thing I would do is put a thin diameter paracord wrap on the handle. That should stop damage to the leather but also add a little weight to the handle perhaps making the blade feel lighter. Also having a sharp edge may lighten the slightly we shall see.

I picked up the long sword and hand and a half when they had them on offer, I was fully expecting to refit the the loose handles but to my surprise they arrived perfect. A mistake? I don't know but they have been sold out almost everywhere ever since. Mine has done pretty well for living history so far, are they perfect? No but for the price, I cant complain.

I’m a theater reenactor. My feeling is that a perfect sword is ugly and unrealistic. A few nicks and scratches give it character and realism. A well used sword is a believable sword. To me the sword you have looks more like a hand and a half bastard sword than a long sword.
