I think there is a lot of "overthinking" the whys, when's and how's a western man would come to the Philippines and get married. But I watched Tim cry at his wedding and I could tell that this was the thing. This was the reason and the need being fulfilled before me. A wife, a child, a family is what a man wants. It's what a man needs and he will go to the other side of the world to get it.

I met my wife in 1980 while in the navy we saw each other on and off for 2 years ,I was informed she was pregnant at the time I was trying to get back with my ex wife . I decided to step up and be a father and not a typical American over there as my wife's cousin had a guy did to her so I went there in 83 to get the ball rolling and celebrate my child 1 and a half years later they were here in the states. 2 sons later and 37 years of marriage I'd do it over again, my wife passed away 2 years ago she lost the battle with diabetes it has devastated the whole family and friends this 28th would have marked her 64th birthday we miss her very much everyday

Sorry for your loss but glad you at least had the opportunity of Knowing her for the time you did! God works in strange ways that we may not get until we pass but I truly believe those who we love will be waiting on us in heaven. I've been alone since my sons mom left me over 10yrs ago and recently lost mom and dad. Never felt so alone in my life. However I believe maybe it's for a reason that only God knows. I have tried some online dating but I suppose it's a lost cause living in a small town where all the good girls are already married. I have had zero success online.

Tim, you have a lovely family. Glad you guys have
come a long way as a
family. Only thing that concerns me is you to often speak to Chrissy jokingly and put her down. She has grown and improve herself in a great way. But I seen she either ignores you or comes back to you with something good for her. Treat each other evenly. Jokes are good but in a nice way .

Bro the same thing happened to me..I was a player had 50 girlfriends all beautiful..but planning a rendevous I got a Filipina pregnant..we met stayed at a condo and she never left now its 6 yrs later we have two sneaker stores ..land we bought and in contract for a newly built condo..and our son has his US citizenship..but I also never thought of running away..and the main reason is much different from your experience and Im just going to be honest..I saw the treatment and the looks I know my black mixed child would receive in the Philippines ..and quadruple that if he was poor..thats just my experience..everyone has a story and thats mine..its working out fine..we will eventually move to the states but still have our business here and property..my son is definitely my blessing😊..and I would suggest really try to make it work..every relationship has complications or adversity or things you must overcome to succeed..mine was my playboy ways and the racial element..at least you are really conscious and speak about your relationship..if its worth fighting for then try your best for it to work..if not move on in a respectful way..

I think you are spot on with the $3,000 per month income. I made $2,400 a month and we barely made it month to month, and we had built our own home. We lived in Cebu, Bohol, Mindanao, and the last 3 years in my wife's hometown of Tacloban, Leyte. Dont listen to the stories of living in paradise for $800 a month. You will be sorely disappointed. Unless you are ok in a dirt floor hut, noair con, spotty electric at best, no running water most of the time, and ok just eating rice, with a side of rice, topped off with rice.

A real man steps up and takes care of his responsibilities. In my 50’s I got my gf pregnant(we’re both from the US) and even though we aren’t together I support my son(to the tune of 3K a month) and am involved in his life. I was getting ready to retire, but instead got a second job and put off my retirement for almost 10 years. Now, I’m going to retire, but I put more than enough away for him and will make sure I am still involved in his life. Hats off brother you stepped up and did the right thing no matter how hard that road was and is. Since I’m new to your channel, I have no idea what type of man you used to be, but I can tell you that somewhere along the way you developed integrity and character and that is something no one can ever take away from you. I don't know all your life experiences and the things you went through in the military and beyond. I can tell you from what I see on your channel, you are a good person. You are trying to do the right thing on a daily basis. None of us succeeds at that anywhere near a 100% of the time. All you can do is try. Personally I think you struck gold with Chrissy and her family. As far as people commenting on your weight and dieting, sure we all should be doing better at that and you are working on it. I'm sure you're going to continue to do that. We both have been in the military and there is a mindset that we employ to accomplish our mission, even when it seems impossible, but of course, we're also human. Keep going, I'm gonna keep watching. I made my first trip to Thailand in January 2019 with no plan, other than a hotel room reserved for the first 3 nights in Bangkok. Fast forward 4 years and I'm married to the Thai lady I met the very first day in Thailand. She's here with me in the USA now and we are looking forward to retirement in Thailand. Sometimes no plans turns into something wonderful.

Very few have a retirement income of $3000.00 a month here in the States.
That's why they look to other places to live.
Look at Hawaii and stateside. Folks work all day and call home a car or minivan.
Thank you for the heartfelt video.
    You're doing a great job.
    Keep working hard for us.

I would agree with your assessment of $2.5 - 3k/month and at least $20k in the bank, even though other Vloggers are preaching the $1k/month life - which is a bare existence, and if something goes wrong, you are screwed. Also, the Philippines, because of the saturation of Vloggers portraying the Philippines as a relative paradise, is quickly becoming much more expensive. No place is a paradise when you are struggling without support. Honest advice. Well spoken.

The reason I follow you is this. 3 years before I moved to the Philippines I was a homeless disabled combat vet fighting VA (took 16 years 3 months 1 day). When I got my 100% permanent &total va disability I took the backpay and payed off all my depts. Then got the back surgerys I needed. Spent 6 months relearning how to walk while doing research on were I wanted to live. My sister in-law (a Philippina) also lived on the family farm that I was staying at during my recovery (I didn't have to be homeless but would not leave my daughter until she was old enough to understand why I had to move on). She actually in a round about way introduced me to my wife. Basically my sister in-laws Mom was friends with my wife's Mom and knew the whole family. I got here close to the same time as you, and have not gone back. We have a 2 year old son, that looks just like me, and are building our home, just breaking ground last week. It takes time, enjoy the adventure of life.

Tim I'm a subscriber for a few years, I don't know why people can't hit the sub... button? I notice your skin is all flared up and you haven't reached the weight loss goals you set a wile back, I just stated carnivore diet a little over a week ago and think it's the way to go, I was keto for over 4 years then gave it up because funny enough I found it was to restrictive and now I'm practicing a diet that is more restrictive LOL, but I don't get the cravings like I did on Keto and many improvements, eating whatever I wanted wasn't working so I'm trying this, it raises testosterone, balances hormones, drops weight rather quickly if you have a lot to lose, I think it might be a way to go, food for thought, if you tried it you could share your journey and get more viewers and hopefully inspire many others to live happier healthy lives. Thanks for wearing your hart on your sleeve, you are good at it, people can say what they want but you are an honest guy working your way through lifes trial and tribulations, God bless you and little Chrissy and Dale, she is a sweetheart, cheers from Canada bud !

Tim... I love how you keep it real my friend. Your openness and honesty has inspired me to do things in my life that I never thought I would do. I've been talkin to a Filipino lady for 3 years now and a few months ago to take my first trip to the Philippines. I'm working hard to bring her here now and praying that God will work it out. She is such a loving and beautiful person. I'm 50 years old but it's never too late to start over. Keep doing what you're doing my friend.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Tim. I planned to retire this year in the Philippines with about a third of the income you were suggesting. I really thought that would be enough. It didn't work out, so, I'm still here in Texas running the daily grind, the rat race if you will. The deal killer was Obama Care, it would cost me about $800.00 a month, which is a sizable chunk of my retirement. Sadly, I had to postpone my retirement till I qualify for Medicare at 65. That's what happens when you plan, the plan does not happen. When you don't plan, that's when things happen, as your former Boss rightly said "You'll figure it out".
