Milwaukee's Best Ice is a damn good beer and I drink it fairly exclusively now. Where Red Stripe is overpriced, this beer is underpriced because I can get it in my area for 0.99 in the 32 oz... Recommend that you drink it very cold, near freezing. I'm not a beer expert though but just know what I like in a value beer.
Picked up a 12 pk yesterday for $5.99 at a convenience store. I can also find this in 24 pk cases, along with 16oz 4 pks and singles. I can find it most anywhere so it must be a big seller. It's not a go to beer for me, but I like it, and for the price I'll buy it again on occasion. I find the taste to be unique. It has that Miller flavor that I can't quite pinpoint. Maybe it's a vegetable oil flavor, or maybe it's a slightly smokey or toasted flavor? Not sure what it is but it's different. Similar to Icehouse, but thinner body and more alcoholic, while still maintaining that rich taste.
Really cool that you showed the history of the can designs. Stuff like that is what sets you apart from all the other beer guys on youtube. "Beast Ice" isn't that bad for what it is but, sadly, the entire Milwaukees Best line has disappeared from South Florida within the last couple of years. Do they still have it in 40s in your area?
Thanks so much, Hoggie. I really do appreciate it! Well, we, in fact, never had 40s or 32s of the Milwaukee's Best line in Louisiana. To my knowledge, we've never had bottles of this line in any size. Just 12 oz., 16 oz., and 32 oz. cans. You're right- for what it is, it's a pretty good beer. Not a "foo-foo" beer, like you say (and I agree with that line of thinking), but good, nonetheless.
Ronald Theriot You're welcome, buddy. It's a shame, I had a 32 oz can in Texas and passed on the opportunity to get a 40 of it in Iowa, both in 2011. Would love to get my hands on a 40 of it for the collection before it goes plastic.
Oh, yeah. I hate when I pass things up, and then they're gone. I'm still kicking myself over the Schlitz episode of 1996. They had the red label cans (started in 1982). I figured I'd go back and get a six-pack, but when I checked back, a week later, they'd been replaced by the 1996-2011 cans.
Crazy story Ron . You where never able to find another can of the Schlitz in a different store? I Think the Milwaukee ice is drinkable at best. Soon as it warms up even a bit I cant taste an hops at all. Natural Ice at least has some hop taste to it. Obviosly if the point is to get buzzed for cheap its a great choice nothing horrible about it just no positive tastes and when its not cold there isnt even the refreshment factor . But Its still way behind the king which is Mickeys and the Legend Natural Ice (Cobra is great to just not to common in my area.)
I had one of the 24 oz cans, last night. This is my new favorite ice beer! I can't believe it took so many years for this beer to spread to my area. Oh, well...I'll just have to make up for lost time, I suppose. Great "project" video, and cheers!
Good review Ronald, I like this beer and drink it regularly. It's always best to get it good and cold though, so I put like the first three beers (12 oz cans) in the freezer before opening it and then it's very refreshing and cold. But there's a bit of timing involved so don't leave it in the freeze over 40 minutes or you will get ice in your ice beer :D. I like High Life as well but this has a better kick and I don't usually have a hangover....as long as I get enough sleep anyway. Cheers!

Hi Ronald! Revisiting your Ice Beer Project Milwaukee's Best Ice! I get the 24 ounce cans (never seen a 32 ounce one) at the local gas station on the way home. A great beer that really hits the spot after a long day at work. Nice aroma, good flavor, easy drinking, refreshing, and certified kosher. The can I got here in Georgia says "Ale." Thanks for all the great reviews. I really enjoy them and learn a lot. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
Hey Jay hope all is well with you, I just wanted to leave a brief comment about Milwaukee's Best Ice.I have always preferred this over most all other Ice Beers such as Ice House,Bud Ice and Natural Ice.I just think it has a much richer taste,The smoothness and over all qualities are just a step above in my opinion.I purchase the 15 pack 12oz cans form time to time and the price value is really good at just 8.49.Oh by the way.,off topic I really do wish i could get Magnum Malt Liquor here in my area because haven't seen it in a long time in Columbus GA or across the bridge in Alabama either.

Yeah, Great honest review. This is one of my favorite beers. I just discovered it recently and I keep it around. I have had several friends who I serve it to say "wow I have never had that before, thanks it hits the spot". I think for the US it's considered an Ale LOL?
Thanks so much for watching, Bug Jones. I appreciate it! It's not an ale, but they mark it as one, on the cans and bottles, because of some state alcohol laws.
Cesaro iS The Name I love this beer too. I’m a Budweiser guy and have been for years, and drank nothing but Bud. Then one day I seen it and gave a shot (seen the price and snagged it) my mind was blown, cheaper, higher alcohol, and flavor wasn’t too bad. Now they’re equal on my beer level. Good beer for a cheap price.
I haven't had this one in a while, but for Ice beers I really do prefer the Bud Ice, Natural Ice and when we go to Branson, the Icehouse. Keystone Ice has quite an alcohol flavor and from what I remember MB Ice does as well. The others not so much, they are more enjoyable to me anyway. Thanks for the review!

Here in Pittsburgh you can’t find this beer as easily as in parts of Ohio but when I do see this beer I buy 3 or 4 of the 24 oz cans. It’s certainly not the best beer on the market but for the price that is is it’s definitely a bang for your buck. Overall easy drinking beer especially when it’s super cold. Nice review thumbs up
Years ago after a day where everything went wrong, I was low on cash, So I got some Beast Ice. It didn't taste good but it was drinkable. But the hangover the next morning was god awful. I heard that it was an accident during Oktoberfest in Germany when they’re vats got too cold and started to form ice crystals in the beer and many of the drinkers found the taste to be a new different more crisp smooth drink
Hi Ron, Unlike the ICE beer category, dry beers are virtually non-existent in America. In Canada we still have Labatt Extra Dry and Molson dry which are good brews. (Molson is priced just above discount vs Labatt which is priced in the domestic premium segment ) 6 years ago, I had a Bud Dry while in California which I found to be excellent. Why do you think the Dry beer segment died, while the ICE beers have survived?
just picked up a 30 pack of this first nice day of spring cut grass and wanted to relax milwaukees best ice did the trick i was going to get icehouse but 13.99 a 30 thats cheaper than pop not as good as rolling rock but i like it better than miller high life, for some reason i dont like the way millers head look like stream foam..anyway at the price i will buy this again thank for all your hard work i really like your reviews : )
Hi Jay, I picked up a 12pk for $5.99 not too bad at all. The beer is good, while I probably would still prefer the others, this one is not too bad. Funny I noticed that they have removed the Miller from the can, but according to the package code it was brewed in Golden, CO anyway! go figure right?
Makes sense! I just had too know because with a beer like this so early in the day It would make me sleep. I'd rather keep it in the fridge with an ice cold glass in the freezer and refill the glass as necessary.
An update on the 15 pack of 12oz cans. $6.99 at Frugal Macdoogal just over the border in South Carolina. 1.2 miles out of my way home from work. Almost $2 cheaper than Food Lion here in Denver, NC. Just an FYI for everyone.
This beer does not say whether it's a beer or lager here in Illinois where most of those things are not an issue. I think it's just the new can design.
I was actually wrong about this comment, unless I had a different can at the time I posted that previous comment, but it says "Ale" in small print on the side.
I think the ale may have to do with the higher alcohol content. Here in Ohio, keystone ice says ale as well. Not sure about beast ice, I can’t get a taste for that yet. May try it again sometime. Usually love ice beers though. Especially keystone ice.
Man, I had way too many big nights drinking Beast Ice when I was younger and travelling through the states via couch surfing through frat houses. Glad to see that it's still around, but not sure I'd enjoy it so much these days ;-) But a zero?!? It should only score a zero if being judged as a barrel aged imperial stout.
I can detect some kind of hops in Milwaukee's Best Ice. Don't really stand out. But their there. What kind of hop pellets do they use? This turns out to be better than Icehouse. A real surprise to a fan of Icehouse. BTW Busch's ice is 7.49 a 12 pack of 12 oz cans at Food Lion in Stanley, NC
My old roommate had a mini fridge full of this stuff I drank it 😆 he said have a beer? But back in the day . Still a good beer won’t buy it or look for it . But good 👍
i used to like natty ice more , then tried again and after the third time i wasnt as good as i remembered its more corny and syrupy compared to icehouse and as for beast ice, i didnt like it first third time round and its a very clean and refreshing beer much better than king cobra at the same 5.9 /6.0 abv i think i gave it a 7.7/ 10 but wow cool can never seen a 32 oz can before
Very interesting, Vulgora. Yes, the 32 oz. cans are like the "big thing" down here, right now. They've got Miller High Life & Miller High Life Light quart cans for 2 for $2.50, right now, in fact. Miller wanted to "one up" Anheuser-Busch's effort with the new "extra ounce" 25-oz. cans, and they succeeded, to say the least.
Great economy beer for killing time and just shooting the breeze. I haven’t drank it in quite some time. It’s gonna appeal to many people now that beer prices have skyrocketed. i bet many people will go back to drinking it occasionally to save a little hurt on their pocket.
My wife bought me a 12 pack in NC. It is really not a bad beer at all yeah its not your bud or whatever but not bad at all it was only $7, I don't get the hate at all.
I don't get it, either. And, after experimenting with the 6.9% alcohol level, they are going back to the old 5.9% level, zane757. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
Not a bad beer by any standards. I prefer Ice house to this and some Natural Ice on occasion. Bud Ice not so much. I rate Mickey's Ice at the top also.
Since I have been drinking Milwaukee Best Ice I can no longer stand the taste of Bud Ice. It, Milwaukee Best Ice, is obviously doing something right because the price has went up in my area.
Well Well Well,,, it was my favorite,, until,,, until on this day, of Our Lord 10/29/16 I bought my usual sixpack,,, and my day was ruined,,, I got sick,,, and everything else you could possibly imagine,,, WHY THE HELL DID THEY INCREASE the alcohol volume??? 5.9% was just perfect,,, 6.9% IS JUST ENOUGH to Destroy my once favorite beer,,, I'll never buy it again,,, GOOD MOTHER ******g JOB!!!
Ronald Theriot I would love to try this Natural Ice that I have heard you mention for a long time now, but I don't believe it is available here in upstate NY. I have been liking this Beast Ice, and wish I could try the Natty. You know I like the Natural Father, so Natty Ice might suit me well!!!
I prefer keystone ice over Coors anyway even though they are made by Coors brewing co. Coors light is a pussy beer in my opinion tastes like watered down cat piss. Not that I've ever tried it haha!

Makes sense! I just had too know because with a beer like this so early in the day It would make me sleep. I'd rather keep it in the fridge with an ice cold glass in the freezer and refill the glass as necessary.
Yes, that's what I do.
An update on the 15 pack of 12oz cans. $6.99 at Frugal Macdoogal just over the border in South Carolina. 1.2 miles out of my way home from work.
Almost $2 cheaper than Food Lion here in Denver, NC. Just an FYI for everyone.
Thanks for the information.
Awesome Ice Beer. My local store had 15 packs for $5.69.
That is an incredible price! Thanks for watching, Mike Vargas. I appreciate it!
Mike Vargas that beats my $8 15 pack.
I buy this in a 12 pack all the time, best value and it tastes pretty good
That's for sure.
Just picked up a 15pack for 7.99 can’t wait to try it
That's a great deal! I hope you like it.
Conclusion; for me: working man's Xtra tasty treat for a weekend with no strings attached and "Best" friends to share with.
I'm glad you enjoy this beer, Cliff.
@@ronaldtheriot I did. Really. Makes me wish Ida bought it at local gas station so they didn't discontinue it there. C'est la Vie
This beer does not say whether it's a beer or lager here in Illinois where most of those things are not an issue. I think it's just the new can design.
Well, of course, it's an extra-strong lager beer. Thanks, kyle!
I was actually wrong about this comment, unless I had a different can at the time I posted that previous comment, but it says "Ale" in small print on the side.
The only reason they put that on the can is to comport with liquor regulations in certain states.
I think the ale may have to do with the higher alcohol content. Here in Ohio, keystone ice says ale as well. Not sure about beast ice, I can’t get a taste for that yet. May try it again sometime. Usually love ice beers though. Especially keystone ice.
It might have something to do with the abv, yes. Thanks for watching, 8 Ball Bowler. I appreciate it!
good beer my friend
+MR. Gemini Agreed, MR. Gemini. Thanks so much for watching. I appreciate it!
Hell yeah beast ice my go to ice beer brew.
I always enjoy it.
It's been on the market awhile.
Nick Hen Yes, twenty years.
Right- a zero out of 100 is a fool's score.
I like to pick this one up pretty regularly, its so cheap at 4.20 for a 6 pack of 16 oz-ers
I'm glad you like it, Keenan Gorman. I sure do. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
Nice review good beer.......CHEERS
Thanks, and cheers back to you!
noticed he changes this beer is different and not just by alc vol.its special.
charles edward
Sherry Bradshaw Thanks for watching.
Great Review! The Beast we call it It will for sure get the job done lol
Yep, Beast Ice, ha-ha!
I guess the types of hops is undisclosed. Yeah, I love this beer.
32 oz crusher cans!! I've never poured one in a glass, but mbi is the best ice beer in my opinion
It certainly can go "toe to toe" with all the other ice beers, there's no doubt about that, Forest Vance. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
It's okay. I buy it when I'm broke and crave a drink.
Thanks for watching, Bryan Bond. I appreciate it!
Mine is ok. I paid $1.49 for 32 oz can. I still give it a C+. A good sit down on the couch/ get a nice buzz beer. It's ok. Cheers.
I agree with that assessment. Cheers back to you.
My old roommate had a mini fridge full of this stuff I drank it 😆 he said have a beer? But back in the day . Still a good beer won’t buy it or look for it . But good 👍
I might revisit it, soon. I have to think about it, though.
i prefer icehouse, but its def good. im def an ice beer fan!
I prefer Icehouse, too, but just by a nose. Thanks for watching, mburt84. I appreciate it!
i used to like natty ice more , then tried again and after the third time i wasnt as good as i remembered its more corny and syrupy compared to icehouse and as for beast ice, i didnt like it first third time round and its a very clean and refreshing beer much better than king cobra at the same 5.9 /6.0 abv
i think i gave it a 7.7/ 10
but wow cool can never seen a 32 oz can before
Very interesting, Vulgora. Yes, the 32 oz. cans are like the "big thing" down here, right now. They've got Miller High Life & Miller High Life Light quart cans for 2 for $2.50, right now, in fact. Miller wanted to "one up" Anheuser-Busch's effort with the new "extra ounce" 25-oz. cans, and they succeeded, to say the least.
rare these parts
And, it's fairly common, here.
Great economy beer for killing time and just shooting the breeze. I haven’t drank it in quite some time. It’s gonna appeal to many people now that beer prices have skyrocketed. i bet many people will go back to drinking it occasionally to save a little hurt on their pocket.
I bet you're right, considering the current situation.
Your a smart man..labbats was the father of ice beer I thought
Thanks, and it was, they claim.
I do like this one, but not as much as Natural Ice. It also has a lot more foam than others, which really is not a huge deal.
Yes, I think I also prefer Natural Ice, Bucky.
Its pretty good beer B+++
That's for sure.
That's the score I give it also. A zero on Rate Beer is nothing more than beer snob BULLSHIT!!!!!! This is one HELL of a beer!!!!
Yes, and I think the beer snobs actually hurt craft beer.
I'm from Little Rock and I have the same exact can as you. It doesn't say beer.
+ryanexsus Thanks for watching, ryanexsus. I appreciate it! I've not been to Little Rock in a long while, by the way.
I can confirm in Ohio that it is also labeled as an "ale". Still my preferred cheap beer. Good balance of price, taste, calories, and alcohol content.
wow! thats like an ASAHI can!
+Tommy Sands Yes, Miller has a lot of these quart cans. I'm actually having this exact one, right now!
Not a bad beer by any standards. I prefer Ice house to this and some Natural Ice on occasion. Bud Ice not so much. I rate Mickey's Ice at the top also.
Stuart Fitzsimons I think Natural Ice is my favorite in that category.
Since I have been drinking Milwaukee Best Ice I can no longer stand the taste of Bud Ice. It, Milwaukee Best Ice, is obviously doing something right because the price has went up in my area.
We only get these 32 single cans ($1.39), in my area, Buscar39. No other sizes.
They may have screwed up.
15 pack for $8 not too bad.
I certainly agree. Thanks for watching, MrRyanS1983. I appreciate it!
its not a bad beer good for nice after i had a bad day kinda beer on a budget
I agree with you, 1011theguy.
it's cheap. but it's no yuengling... yuengling is the king of cheap beers
Yes, but Yuengling is not so cheap, anymore. Thanks for watching, Hermetica. I appreciate it!
I like Bud Ice better but its not bad
Yes, I am pleased with Milwaukee's Best Ice. Thanks for watching, The Horror Specialist. I appreciate it!
now that beer is kinda nasty i id rather drink natty ice lol
Yes, my preference is also for Natural Ice, in fact.
Ronald Theriot
I would love to try this Natural Ice that I have heard you mention for a long time now, but I don't believe it is available here in upstate NY. I have been liking this Beast Ice, and wish I could try the Natty. You know I like the Natural Father, so Natty Ice might suit me well!!!
Natural Ice is very common, down here.
Thats weird we have natty ice in las vegas too
Yeah, I thought it was available everywhere.
I prefer keystone ice over Coors anyway even though they are made by Coors brewing co. Coors light is a pussy beer in my opinion tastes like watered down cat piss. Not that I've ever tried it haha!
+Hardcore truth I think Coors Banquet and their Extra Gold are both quite nice beers.
Hoggie considers this crap n not real beer,I'm officially done with his reviews I'm not trying to be all high n mighty but I just can't handle beer snobbery n it fucking pisses me off forgive my language I mean no disrespect,I just think you're one of the few beer reviewers who will actually tell you how it is you have no agenda n offer no bullshit just your honest opinion!
+Mr Diggler Well, Hoggie actually came out of the beer snobbery and began to take an entirely different approach. However, he went defunct, about two years ago.
If your low on cash maybe?
bullet Possibly, but I just like to buy it, sometimes.
some days it's not too bad and others it's another gut rot cheap beer
I always enjoy it, even though I rarely buy it. Thanks for watching, Siva Das. I appreciate it!
Greetings lager heads! You cant beat that 6 pack price of 5.69 here in Virginia .cheers my friend
Thanks, and cheers, back to you!
Y’all have Krispy krunchy chicken
Yes, we sure do. Thanks for watching, Randy Bridges. I appreciate it!
