Brandon R it is a World War one and two german Pistol. It is called Mauser C96. The British called it the Bromhandle. i am an german sorry for my bad english
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the C96 actually loads with a clip from the top and not a magazine. The actual screen used DL-44 blaster and all the other blasters on set where functioning firearms. They even fired blanks in som of the scenes.
All you haters complaining about the seams and the screws/screwholes: piss off. I'm pretty sure this was meant to be a quick and easy mod, and all things considered it looks super nice.
I've been holding to one of those blasters for a couple of months now... And your tutorial is by far the easiest I've seen showing how to mod it. Great work!
It's always so awesome to see someone use their correct hand rather than their right hand. : ) Really great results and a superb presentation on making it. Keep being awesome!
This is awesome because I just painted the exact same gun the exact same way several months ago using the techniques I learned from your other collectibles and it came out freaking awesome. keep up the good work man
Excellent work on customizing that blaster. I have one of those as well and thanks to your step by step instructions I'll be going ahead and doing this to my blaster as well to get it ready for any cons coming up here in Houston.
I was going to do the same as you Chris, but had the same problem with the price pf getting the gun.. So I tried finding it in my local area, and while doing that a guy contacted me and offered to 3D-print a DL-44 for me. The price was good so I jumped on it! It looks fantastic! Took some extra work, but it is far better looking than the toy. So if you ever want to revisit the DL-44, consider doing that.
Awesome job as usual, you really brought it to life! One correction at 1:27, the real-life base is a Mauser pistol, which is from Germany, rather than Russia.
Very cool mate, I did something like this but I took the gun apart and glued a lot 1p coins in the handle and and spare parts to give weight too. I like the idea of a real scope!
Honestly the Rubie's prop is amazing and such a simple build and only costs around 20 bucks to make (I'm including paint in this price estimate). The funny thing is so many cosplayers I know buy this thing in bulk every Halloween, spend 2 or 3 days painting it, and then sell it on Etsy for close to 100 bucks since it's so close to the actual prop. It's amazing what you can do with a drill, a can of spray paint, and some basic enamels or acrylics.
For those who are interested, Adam Savage does a Tested One Day Build where he does a DL-44. Lots of background info on what kind of gun was used, what stuff was added, and the film this gun was used in before Star Wars.
I’ve seen so many tutorials on this exact toy, AND I FOUND IT!!!!!! FOR $10!!!!! And it was a German C-96 Mauser with a German sniper scope, a barrel of a German minigun on an airplane, and a piece from a model airplane kit
The music at the end makes me think of how climatic the episode 9 final light saber fight with Rey is going to be. Also I have a feeling fin is going to get the Hans blaster.
That blaster... It belongs to me!
😂😂
It belongs in a museum
Kylo Ren (turns on lightsaber) shut up I'm giving it to his other son ben
Mimikyu Empire I thought Kylo Ren was Ben... Kylo Ren was what his name was changed to...
...Come get it.
So sick like always.
I get giddy like a school girl when I see a new Custom Collectable.

Chris the original gun was a German Mauser pistol from both world war 1 and 2
Nice call, a Mauser C96 to be precise, with the magazine removed.
+The ghost of Sammy classic Sonic fan and random shit stuck to it
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the C96 actually loads with a clip from the top and not a magazine. The actual screen used DL-44 blaster and all the other blasters on set where functioning firearms. They even fired blanks in som of the scenes.
+The Naturrutan you are wrong, it was a magazine loading
The C96 had both a magazine and a top loading "stirpper clip".
may the force be with Carrie

Truly awesome. Simple yet effective techniques delivered plain and simple to camera - the hallmarks of a master artist. Great stuff!
All you haters complaining about the seams and the screws/screwholes: piss off. I'm pretty sure this was meant to be a quick and easy mod, and all things considered it looks super nice.
The nozzle in a New Hope is more black. He had different versions of the gun in Empire and up... those had the silver nozzle.
I've been holding to one of those blasters for a couple of months now... And your tutorial is by far the easiest I've seen showing how to mod it. Great work!
There is something very satisfying watching this stuff evolve with paint and a bit of effort...almost meditative in a way.
Without a doubt one of the best you have ever done.
I got the same exact toy in March and I had no idea how to properly paint it so thank you, Chris!
Sick asf. You're finishing what EVERYONE started
I swear every cosplay I'm doing, you have a vid on it. I LOVE IT

It's always so awesome to see someone use their correct hand rather than their right hand. : ) Really great results and a superb presentation on making it. Keep being awesome!

This is one of my favorite custom collectibles
amazing as usual. I absolutely love watching you turn garbage into gold. very inspiring.
Nice! You know you did a good job when it looks almost like the screen used prop.
Excellent work on customizing that blaster. I have one of those as well and thanks to your step by step instructions I'll be going ahead and doing this to my blaster as well to get it ready for any cons coming up here in Houston.
Chris i miss those old 20-30 minute custom collectible videos!!!

Ur getting better at EVERYTHING I love this channel

Thanks for this! I've been looking at doing this for a while for a cosplay I've been working on but I didn't know what paint to use, thanks!
Adam Savage would love this!
that's amazingly realistic
Welcome back home Chris lol glad you got home ok man dude you did it again looks epic dude
That was really cool Chris!
That's not a toy, that's art!!!!!!
The only thing thats really off is the scope, cause its way too close to the body of the gun
Mr Duke Silver and it’s kinda covering where you would reload
Nater Tater you can’t reload in Star Wars you use lasers
Master of being Lit Sort of complicated when it comes to that. Clone Wars reveals there is a sort of cartridge.
Jory DaHungryChubs oh thank you I’ve been a Star Wars fan since I was three years old
yea the scope on the cinema version is canted on the left side like a lee enfield
Awesome! Now I want to repaint something else. You make a really nice Han Solo :D
Great to have u back!!
great video again sir, as realistic as my Master Replicas
