My corgi mix ate a chicken bone and all the vets in our city were closed as it is the weekend. However we called an emergency vet and he advised that all we need to do is make sure our dog pukes. We gave him a small dosage of the hydrogen peroxide and within 3 mins he puked everything up and is completely fine

Great that it worked! I often say that cats were put on this world to test us because they very often don't follow the textbook!

Did u use hydrogen peroxide for human?

@@stemgbawarladyheartd.8871 no, never tried it on a human. I guess there is some danger if you have a sore in your belly, you dont want foaming in your blood system

@@OurPetsHealth yeah, cats are wonderful, but they are made different than most animals

Great information but it tended to concentrate on substances rather than foreign body type ingestion. Sharp objects mentioned but millions of dogs swallow socks/hair scrunchies/chunks of fabric/chunks of soft toys/stuffing - soft items basically. Is inducing vomiting ok in these instances?

yes, for the most part - many a sock have I retrieved via vomiting!

The most common rat bait takes about 3 days to start having effects and what normally happens if it's too late to make vomit is take a blood test at this time and give the antidote of vitamin k if the test shows enough was eaten to be dangerous

@OurPetsHealth I really appreciate your making this vid and admire how fast you responded to this rightfully worried pet owner. I called a vet just now trying to get basic info and (my chaweenie was just choking on grass) they wouldn't even tell me what helps induce vomiting unless I paid them.
