He is in the sky, shoots fiery beams from his eyes... Seems like a very clear reference to lightning which probably had a strong connection to the Nile due to the fact that thunder and lightning is often accompanied by rain, fattening the waters of the Nile, bringing water to crops

Nut is the god of the sky, and Set is the god of storms, so it’s not likely as they have very established gods filling those roles already. And a lot of figures use fire, although it’s not indicative of their specialty.
Medjed is also referenced in a way that sounds villainous in The Book Of The Dead, whereas a god providing crops would be revered. But they call him smiter and say he spreads filth

"Eat the excrement of your rear" is my new favorite insult now. Ancient Egyptian mythology is heavily underrated, a series about the obscure parts and mildly interesting parts of it would be amazing, and something that isn't present in youtube. Exploring the Duat and all the madness from the book of the dead, the book of gates, and the amduat would be great.

Never understood why they were literally afraid of a small turtle 🐢 but i guess they just took that irrational fear from their parents and so on.

If you find out the mating season of Trionyx triunguis (which I couldn't find), you will see it makes a lot of sense. Most gods in Cosmological Era were descripted by their "voice" on Earth, meaning, how nature works in its cycles. Guardians of Underworld usually means breeding season in "year's night": between November and March. The gods speak as nature operates.
One example: The beginning of the mating season of the old dog breeds, which coincides with the peak flood and the helical rising of Sirius (The Black Dog). At the end of July beginning of August: the hottest part of the year. "The Dog who Swallows Millions. And he will guide the souls to judgment: Spetember/October (Libra). Here you have Anubis.
The pattern of nature is the pattern of heavens (as above, so below). Knowing what the gods are saying, you can prepare yourself to the afterlife.

The Priestess kneeling before Medjed is not cowering. She has her hands up in a gesture of supplication, which is very common among religions. Even today, priests will do certain prayers before an altar with their hands up raised, the palms facing out. If you Google images of priests praying before altars, you will come across this stance.

    1) FIRST GOD
    ~ Actual name: MÆ-CHE-DE or MÆ-CHE-DA
~ Actual meaning: to press, to squeeze, to crush, to follow closely or insistently
~ Actual task: Mæchede or Mæcheda was an invisible deity in the house of Ọsọr (Osiris) who burned up the enemies of Ọsọr. The cloak he wears renders him invisible (sound familiar, Harry Potter fans?), hence why he is referred to as "yet unseen".
    2) SECOND GOD
    ~ Actual name: ENENEMỌ-HUATI-NTI-PUHU-FI
~ Actual meaning: "the eater of the decay at the base of his obelisk"
~ Actual task: Doorkeeper of the 3rd Æreriti (judgement hall) in the ancestral realm (the Duat) who would consume the dead being judged at the bottom of an Ærerit obelisk, just as a turtle receives sustenance from feeding on things at the bottom of a river, lake, or ocean, hence why this deity had the head of a turtle.
None of these gods are as "confusing" as you claim. You simply lack the spiritual lineage to decipher the meanings behind them.

I can immediately see how Medjed would be a hit in Japan. Reminds me of the strange beings the girls in the anime Girls’ Last Tour meet at the end of the series, with their sad message of the cessation of life on earth.
Medjed’s role in the Egyptian religion as punisher of the wicked piques my fancy. I daresay we need a Medjed to strike fear into the hearts of malefactors, the oppressors and liars and destroyers of our day who don’t seem to fear God. Perhaps Medjed as Avenging Angel of the Most High has a role to fulfill in setting things right nowadays. The orange fat godlet, (who is likely Nyarlathotep the deceiver and psychopomp of the Great Old Ones) needs to be put down by the wrath of better gods.

And lucky for that, as a foreigner trust me most of us smart people would rather see it there than anywhere near muslim counties, look up what they are doing to ancient statues and findings everyday, MASSIVE DESTRUCTION

Pretty sure that Medjed is just Alex Lifeson’s “The Bag” character. I never knew he existed all those thousands of years ago.

So,basically a modern interpretation of him if they want to make him scary,is a cloak with only eyes visible?
Nice video btw,a lot of stuff I've ever heard before.Have you made a video about those 'magic wands'? Maybe you could also explain amulets in the same video!

You should look up the ancient god Sokar. He may seem like a generic falcon-headed god who guards a necropolis, but his ancient roots are downright *eldrich*.
Moon Knight's patron deiety may be Khonsu, but his design is the striking image of Sokar.
(even a god like Montu is a better reference)

🇬🇧 Medjet looks abit like Humpty Dumpty
Basically an egg shape with legs but he does have a full face.
As ive studied Nursery Rhymes & their origins, there isnt a very satisfactory explanation of Humpty but some say its an ancient & obscure origin based on the World Egg & Fertility rights.
However, i used to have a really strange Salt & Pepper cruet that looked exactly like Medjet!
    Ok, thanks for the video
    Peace 🇬🇧🙋

You forgot Khepri, the god with a scarab beetle for a head. Not just a beetle’s head, but an entire beetle, is Khepri’s head.
The ancient Egyptian pantheon can get really confusing. This is not surprising when you consider that the ancient Egyptian civilization lasted for about 4000 years. Just think about how much European culture has changed over the last thousand years, and multiply that by 4. Also, different cities reverenced different gods, and even the same gods had different names and attributes in different times and different areas of Egypt.
