They were originally encouraged to exist because the barons wanted more money and they were good at making more money. I paid so much in taxes last year it makes me 😤. Yes, I make more money than most of my friends, but I also put in more hours and have more commitment to my job. Saying you're going to increase my tax burden is an easy way to lose my vote.
