I stopped reading Charles Dickens Christmas short stories when I felt at risk my memory would blur them together. That's fine, more for next year. I loved the Father Christmas book! I read Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson and thought it was pretty good. I've read all 4 of the "One and Only" books. They all have underlying "causes/agendas", but discussing with my 12 yr old, we agreed Bob's story was the best, though predictable. I listened to a nonfiction then fly in the mood to get back to some classics and picked up a Thomas Hardy. I haven't felt all that Christmassy this year. It may be all the rain; may also be we all have colds and haven't spent much time at church. Blessings to you and your family. Merry Christmas!
I hope your family gets better soon, and you can feel more in the Christmas spirit! It's no fun being sick at Christmas. My family had the flu last year.
NUTCRACKER VIBES??? Gotta grab it. Because there's the going to all the places in Nutcracker, so the travel fits, too. EEEP! I know what you mean. I can't tell you how many reviews for the same book have, "This book was too preachy. Way too much religious stuff." and then a few down the line would say, "I thought this was supposed to be Christian fiction. There's no gospel in here." Sigh. LOL I really enjoyed Murder Goes Caroling. It didn't have the "I'm so confused" moment that I got with the Glamping book (which I suspect happened because I had a kindle glitch or something.
@@ChautonaHavig oh, A Lady's Guide to Marvels and Misadventure is possibly popular enough for your library to have it 😉 Speaking of Nutcracker vibes, I'm currently reading The Nutcracker's Suite by a favorite author of mine 😁

Great reading month so far!
Thanks! I'm really enjoying all of the seasonal books this month! I hope you're reading some good books 🙂
That's so frustrating when you have to DNF a book but so nice to have room for more books you might love! 😆
It was a bit of a relief to quit it and move on to something else.

I think Malissa did a better job with Murder Goes Caroling in general. Maybe you can try again with Murder Goes Glamping?
