@jar jar all studios make mistakes when developing games. Rocksteady probably had some privileges in the choices of developing the game taken from them. If anything it's WB's fault because they hindered Rocksteady.
This is something you will never experience with Spider-Man, a buff and menacing looking character with billion dollar tech and body armor is more intimidating against a slim ripped dude in spandex that just can't shut up.

Hence they redesigned the city to have wide roads with cars in mind. And it's not EA that published the games, it's Warner Bros. And as far as my personal opinion goes, they did the Batmobile as good as possible. Literally a car being able to strafe is SOOO MUCH MORE MANEUVRABILITY. You know how much I would love to parallel park. Keeping it strictly to traversal would have been SO BORING. And it changes from combat mode to traversal mode instantly, arrives on a button press and is used in the story. How else can they flesh out Batmobile's role in a game? It's just compared to Batman as a playable character (who had 4 game's worth of improvements at that point) it's not as good. The actual car handling, dashing, shooting is as good as any game out there. Just look at the upgrade tree. Batman can pull over 2 dozen moves in each combat situation and by comparison the batmobile can only shoot rubber/bullets and missiles. If they had the option to upgrade to flamethrower, ice grenade and electric pulse (most of which is already programmed in the game), it would feel fleshed out. Basically what Batman's gadgets do in a stealth/combat encounter, but for Batmobile. But still, even on paper, it's easily an 8/10. Just not a 9, 9.5 or 10 that most peeps give to the Batman experience.
The best part is that he literally, LITERALLY does in this game. It's just about the only way to actually explain the AR combat simulations where Batman jumps off of thin air if you're close enough to the invisible border of the simulator.
I’ve been playing this game for years and I keep repeating the story and every time when I get to this part, I already know what to do, I set up everything, I have control of the room and I just wait for him to talk shit all he wants then I open the door and I go like: what did you say I couldn’t do homie ? I've beaten this game, literally, at least 20 times. Done this exact watchtower probably 40 times all in all, had no idea they had this conversation. Always wondered if there was a way to get to them without breaking the glass and alerting them. Pretty awesome, dude.

Damn this is one of the reasons Arkham Knight is my favourite game. Severly underrated, way ahead of its time. Imo better than Arkham city and Asylum although its not like they are "bad games". The Arkham series in itself is the epitome of perfection
It did a lot wrong but it was a fitting end to the quadrilogy and it was satisfying. I can respect people who like it. But I wouldn't say it's better than the other 3. The main thing it has going for it is it's amazing gameplay.

If you can get yourself in the right spot, you can hack a terminal that opens the bars, but it's hard to get there without busting in first

It did a lot wrong but it was a fitting end to the quadrilogy and it was satisfying. I can respect people who like it. But I wouldn't say it's better than the other 3. The main thing it has going for it is it's amazing gameplay.
