I went through the Navy SERE course in Maine in the middle of the winter 2005. I woke up in the snow from a nightmare that I was robbing a McDonalds at gunpoint. While the worker was opening the register and throwing money at me, I was smacking it out of the way and demanding a burger. Never been hungrier in my life. lol. and cold. I went into the course at 180lbs and in only a week came out at 165lbs
Always heard that was hands down the best military school out there
small unit tactics is the best....................................... said no one ever.
at least for me it was
It was
Best training I’d never do again lol
Was for me.
Wish I could have taken SERE-C. Went to SERE-B in Lackland, which was some pretty good training for sure. Just wish I had more Wilderness survival training while I was serving.
The Pathfinder School in Ohio is great for anyone (especially civilians) who wants some serious survival training by some of the best in the business.
no cap, they're giving out survival training to civvies? had no idea.
@@ShadowLancer128 Yep, but it's not cheap. Worth it though.
Eh, did C at Fairchild back in 01. I wouldn't want to go back through it. Not for sure that you'd like to have you wish answered either. Fun it most certainly wasn't.
@@lockheedload My friends who went through it hated it and loved it. I like wilderness survival in general, and challenging myself. The last class I went to had 50% of the students tap out. The advanced course at the Pathfinder School has an 80% tap out rate, would love to take it, but need to practice my friction fires a lot more before even attempting that one.
I want to go to survival schools all across the U.S. someday.
Will take some time though, most schools are pretty expensive.
Went to SERE C and Jungle Expert Training combi program, it sucked, but was best course I ever attended.
What'd you do there
they rape or waterboard u in sere c or is that just a myth?
I went through it in late Fall 1990. Cold as shit in the Maine mountains. I led a squad of squids (I was a Marine captain) along with a Marine sergeant. Out of 9 squads, ours and one others weren’t captured early. Spent just 12 hours in the “hotel.” 😉
While in military school we had a retired SEAL working there. He told us about a school he went to, which i assume is this now that im watching it, but he said he maybe made it 2 hours before getting captured. The rest of the time was torture and questioning. Things like stripping him naked and spraying him with a hose outside in the cold. Having a woman laugh at his junk, etc.
You bastards... LOL... That might have been me! I tried to be manly but you know something? I think I sprouted ovaries.
Learned alot in that school.
War Criminal #3. SERE Warner Springs 1985!
Never admit it. Forever a war animal😂
Ill never forget the Boots, Boots, Boots moving up and down again song over and over again. Soooo creepy.
Can still hear that moving up and down again song in my head if it’s quiet enough
There is no discharge from the war
Locked in a box was my favorite part
I wish there was something like this for us civilians who have weekday jobs 😅 train on the weekends. Work on the weekdays 😊
Must have been super easy in the late 1980s. US Navy AW dorks easily passed the requirements. AWs were Anti Submarine geeks.
I flew with those "AW dorks" as an FE in the Gulf war. You're going to be calling them big daddy when a Russian or Chinese sub is sitting a few hundred nautical miles off your coast which maybe very soon. From the toughest to the dorkiest, if you have served, will serve or died serving honorably, *YOU ARE AN AMERICAN HERO!* Thank you for your service men and women!
Went to USAF SERE AT CLARK AFB, WENT TO NAVY SERE AT WARNER SPRINGS CA. CHANGED SQDS, WENT AGAIN TO WARNER SPRINGS,,, INTERESTING BUT NEVER FUN
am i the only one who knows SERE from the TifanFall 2 campaign, like the SERE kit, from BT's head?
you n me both bro
SV80 RAVEN here!
This effed me up. Sere and sere-C
Great program.
a bunch of combat vets made their own SERE event and show: the SERE Challenge
Would all Tier 2 and up get SERE C?
Yes, in addition to support personnel in SOF, Pilots, and some members from other conventional units. Basically if you could be captured and interrogated for knowing/having sensitive info you go to C
don’t know if it’s true but my buddy told me they break your fingers, water board you n shit during sere
It's within the realm of possibilities.
Eh... Level C is like boot camp for USMC. Just level of nudity.
BOOTS...BOOTS...BOOTS!!!
Water boarded during interrogation at Warner Springs. Yes, they broke me.
thanks
What is SERE? SERE is a lot of Fun.
I went through SERE in 1986, a couple months after I earned my Navy Wings. To those going… ….. …. …. …
Ask Garand Thumb
