"They'll name a holiday after me! That is, assuming they even have a concept of holidays on the other side..." this dude has some of the best/stupidest jokes in the series in this game lmao
This section was really creepy. Especially when Albido was digging those graves for Rubedo and Nigredo. His eyes in this scene showed how far his mental health deteriorated. Scary.
Well, when you find out that your sole purpose for existing is to be a weapon against a formless multi-dimensional threat and that you'll eventually outlive everyone you care about. It does things to the psyche.
Pretty much my thoughts on the game too. The battle system is very tedious, but I really enjoyed all of the Albedo backstory etc. Wasn't so keen on the change in art style either, but pretty happy with where it ended up in the third one. Not really sure what my favourite one in the series is. The first time I went through them, I would've said the third game for sure, but replaying it you could really tell that the game was rushed and they had so much plot threads to tie up that it felt a bit like a boss rush near the end. Still an excellent series though!
@@chonsey5179 Yeah, I forgot about the change in art style(and I think voice actress as well for Shion/KOSMOS?), but I am sure that bugged me in the beginning as well. I remember getting confused about the battle system until about halfway through the game. I was young and this was before UA-cam so the best you had was text description from sites like Gamefaqs. I remember struggling on one of the final bosses(Patriarach I think). The final area didn't give much exp if I remember correctly, and minor stat boost wouldn't save me from not properly strategizing anyway. Just watched a video and apparently I needed more evasion or something cuz the party seems to be almost invulnerable to regular attacks.
Personally I really liked the story of Xenosaga 2 and find Rubedo and Albedo's relationship to be one of the most intesting parts of the whole series. I would imagine that most of the complaints from this game come from the pretty tedious battle system and the sudden shift in art style on some of the characters, which can be pretty jarring at first after playing the first game. Overall it's still an excellent game, but i'd probably say it's my least favourite in the series.
It's not the game. I think a song plays in the background there that UA-cam put a copyright strike on. UA-cam gave me the option to remove the audio so that I could keep the video up and that's what I got left with. I thought there would be some fancy technology that removed the song and kept the rest of the audio, but no... easiest way to remove the song was to have that horrible noise blasting over it. Apologies to your ears!
One of my least favorite anime tropes: "Alas, poor villain" Japan does it in a way that almost always makes the audience cringe because they remember all the evil shit the villain has done, yet are supposed to feel like the villain deserves sympathy for his reasons or a change of heart.
Personally speaking, I love Albedo, but not in any way because I find him sympathetic. God no. Yes, he had a sympathetic backstory, but that does not excuse anything he did or tried to do. Backstory not withstanding, Albedo is strictly a character that I “love to hate”. And yeah, I’ve seen the “Alas, Poor Villain” trope a lot of times, but it can be done well. And sometimes gloriously flipped on its head.
@@shinkenger2011 I liked him too in 1 where he was completely, unforgivably evil. Thinking back to all the crap he did but then expected to see him as a poor child? Give me a freaking break XD

@@deathbykonami5487~ I can't argue that.
When you realise Scott menvile did Albedo who also did Lyold Irving XD he goes from being a hero to a villain
@Pro Token420 I don't get where your getting psychonauts from but yes he did teen titans
No way!
Shoot, you're right!
I remember loving the battle track. Such a cross between creepy and heavy percussion!!
you know, i've seen a lot of crazy people in my life, but rubedo is beyond insane
Albedo is the crazy one.
you got the wrong name dawg

Xenosaga 2 had a divisive battle system, but the story scenes were the best and most disturbing.

i got hit with a copyright claim on this one, so audio goes a bit funny in the middle and at the end to keep it from being blocked :(
I understand bro i still watch though
He,he,nice ending though,i love it so much,Albedo was awesome!
And of all things, Albedo is carried away by lolis in a crucified position... with a fifth one holding onto his leg. And they are named AFTER BOOZE.
XD
Still questioning why episode 2 got bad reputation? They did well in writing rubedo's backstory

@@chonsey5179 yeah definately the battle system. when i finished i had no desire to do post game because i was sick of the battle system.
