PSN was supposed to be required from day 1, it was a technical issue on arrowhead that caused this whole drama
It’s Arrowheads fault. They wanted to release the game at the same time on pc when it wasn’t ready for the psn login. The ceo of arrowhead said, and they didn’t make it clear at the beginning. The whole friends system in Helldivers is janky as hell. For the longest time it wouldn’t show people you played with. Friend invites would show up a week later. I was playing with a guy last weekend. While I was playing with him . He sent me a friend invite. Says click R3 . I did and it disappeared.

You guys are shouting over Sony on PC when the reality of the fact is that that is at best a single % digit net contributor of the whole Sony gaming revenue. And most probably it’s literally around or less 1%. Sony revenue is over 8 billions if a game sells 1 mil on PC it will bring 40 million in revenue. Any business lead by people with a pinch of brain would just give up on PC altogether given that they can’t get the whole MAU trash metric out of this venue.
Craig…😣 PC gamers don’t care about PS games. The people that do are former PS people on PC. Some genuinely love the games, and the rest only want them for bragging rights. They will wait out the PS games till they come to Steam, boycott or pirate them.
Only chance Sony has of taking over PC with a games store is to acquire Valve, keep everything the same and make Gabe Newell the head of that and PS (or the other way around if Valve has more money).
Again if they don't that's fine.....Sony can just yank further IP.

I’m gonna be honest P ROCK the past few weeks has been very bad with the amount of negativity surrounding everything in the gaming industry, layoffs ,boycotting stellar blade , closing studios and the list goes on.
The only way Xbox is going to continue to have 3rd party support is to make Xbox a PC. Companies are targeting PlayStation and PC,so Xbox will automatically be supported

I disagree about Sony having to refund the game in the countries that couldn’t play HD2. It was all down to how it looks. I blame the people in them countries for buying the game even though they couldn’t create a psn account. Also, they could only play it due to a technicality. If the linking requirement hadn’t been removed, they would have found that they could play it and would have got a refund. Yes it was silly to sell there, but ultimately they knowingly bought a game they couldn’t play

Had those people known from the beginning, that they would later need a PSN account, I would agree, BUT THEY DIDN’T.
They had no idea when they bought the game originally that it would then require a PSN account BECAUSE SONY DIDN’T TELL THEM.
Therefore it’s Sony’s fault, and they never should’ve sold the game in those countries to begin with.
Therefore, had Sony decided to continue and go through with the requirement, then they should also be forced to refund those people, PEIROD.
However, every other complaint that PC gamers had around creating a PSN account was complete BS.
It was only the people in those countries who had a valid reason to complain.

The simple fact that Sony sold the game in those countries puts the blame on them, END OF STORY.
You cannot sell a product, and then write down in small print within the user manual that several months later you will be making an update that makes that product useless.
In any court of law that would be deemed illegal and Sony knows it, which is likely why they backed down once they became aware of the problem.

Error 2333 or the right driver must be used to play this game. Bro it was a nightmare. Imagine spending your limited gaming time trying to get a game to work. No thanks, i work 10 hours a day and the last thing i want to do when i get home and want to play a game is to troubleshoot some pc shit. F pc gaming. Console gamer for life. The only way i see myself ever going to pc is if Nintendo and play station one day leave gaming and PC is the only way to play games. Hopefully that will never happen. That will be a nightmare.

I'd say this, as Craig said Sony is definitely looking on how to do their own thing, i think bc Microsoft is coming for Valve, take it to the bank. Sony could make a one application where PC PSPlus and PC games are all in one place, so is the same app for PS gamers, PC gamers and PSPlus gamers.
And it will fail miserably. PC gamers will wait for it to hit Steam or pirate your games.

Regarding the storefront, the point was the possibility, not the certainty. Shutting down Craig’s point because you believe it’s impossible is illogical. Sony already own 5% of Epic, so they could increase their share as well revitalize Epic since they want to compete with Steam.
Regional games have regional translations/audio. So if you have an American PSN it would make no sense to change that account to a Chinese PSN account since all those China region games would mostly be in Simplified Chinese not English. You people needs to realize that differnt regions have more differences than simularites.
If I were Sony, I’d scrap the PC market all together. I AM a PC gamer and still find the community annoying. So entitled, and they contribute NOTHING to gaming.
