Makes perfect sense. Rare bounty roll (echo gem etc) "eat 52 cakes". Personally I don't think cake pedestals should be in every room. It should be like 25% until you complete, then in every room for the greed mechanic

I like the extra greed aspect of "there's a lodestone/pedestal in this room but I can greed more but it may be hard to find a new one or I have three more rooms to go back". We have kiwi/lemon/orange etc for a reason.
For etho: Win+M minimises all tabs and Win+Shift+M restores tabs, but if your tabs are all active but not visible in task manager like in the video you may have opened a new virtual desktop with Win+Ctrl+D (Win+Ctrl+F4 closes virtual windows and you can view all virtual desktops with Win+Tab)
Win M and Win Shift M seems like a less convenient version of Win D that shows desktop and can be pressed again to bring back the windows. But Etho already knew about that shortcut because he pranked Scar with it.
The cake icon at the top should show what room you are in. That would be very useful. You can see the total you have opened in the bottom right already.
Regarding the cake vault generation, I dont know if there is a cap, but you could pregenerate the whole vault before it starts. You just have to basicly generate one room, add one cake layer to the vault (+chests cascading), generate another room, add a layer and so on untill the vault is pregenerated and then just remove all the cake layers. Because the problem of pregenerating is only the cascading chests, but you know exactly how much a room should cascade (based on the layer).
i vaguely remember etho trolling scar in an among us stream by telling him to push a key combo that ended up minimising all of scar's tabs. this incident might have been karma for that :D

It sounds like etho switched his desktop, on a Windows pc if you hit alt-tab at the bottom it shows alternative desktops, It may be that he didnt need to restart and could have just switched back to his other desktop by hitting alt-tab and clicking the 1st desktop. (its at the bottom of the screen usually)

For the lag issue when unlocking a new room, can't you pregenerate the rooms with the already augmented quantity of loot/chests? Since you don't have (I believe) random effects added per room, but for the cake one, can't you predict each buff in advance and pregen accordingly.
This actually sounds like a great idea! There are only two potential problems I see with this: 1. The rooms would need to be generated at some point, and if it is all at once (like at the beginning) then it would be even more laggy (however, normal vaults aren't too laggy at the beginning to my knowledge, so this point is probably invalid) 2. You would need to pick how many rooms to generate at the start, and if the player goes over, you would have to generate more (however, you could probably just pregen 100 and if the player gets to 100 you can just generate the next hundred and make them wait a second, so this point is also probably invalid) So overall, this is a great idea that I am sure could be implemented without an extreme amount of effort. from watching all these behind the scenes videos, it kinda always feels like "this is how i play and its the only right way" i dont know how much of it is friendly banter and how much is actual frustration ^_^;
What do you think of the idea of having some vault themes be distinct in their geometry rather than palette? Though the themes all look different, I noticed that they share similarly shaped rooms. But you could do themes where things are like super block-y and solid. There could be balance concerns; I'd guess the main limitation is the tech though. It could be cool though, couldn't it? You could make claustrophobic dark dungeon themes and stuff.

If cake vaults have changed to layers, you can pregen the entire vault because each new room is always going to be +1 layer. Unless you can't do room by room scaling of modifiers
I believe the best way to play the new cake vaults would be to speed run cakes until you've 10min left on your vault time then begin focusing on looting for the last 10min
I totally agree with False in the first vault, I always end up in her situation. Being behind the others and stuck dealing with the mobs left by the faster people, never getting to find the cakes. Hopefully the new mode makes it easier but iv never enjoyed cakes because of that.
This whole series was just an Islall scheme to get Etho input on his game. People would pay good money for Etho critiques, but Iskall got them for free by treating him like a little brother.

Alternatively, you could pregen the rooms with the appropriate number of cake layer stacks pre-applied, might be more difficult but would reduce the lag down to none

Etho probably did windows ctrl left which switches his desktop to a secondary one. In windows tab you can see if there are 2 desktops and can delete the other one so it doesn’t happen
I feel like a co-op style tactic where you trade off positions with one person hunting cakes and another one or two looting could be a pretty powerful strat for getting high cake counts.
Is there an accessibility option for people who are colorblind to be able to tell where the cake is? I feel like some people are gonna have trouble seeing the pink vignette on normal vault themes, let alone the red bone one.
I feel like seeing stress&false struggling in this vault is a good case for why making the mobs hit even harder or faster would make the cake vaults real bad for everyone who isn't in the most extreme player base lol.
Stress is a pro, she's legitimately one of the best players on VHSMP. She doesn't grind as much as others but she's much better at strategy and game knowledge than anyone else. She DEFINITELY counts as the extreme playerbase
Oh also checking in on this later: There are a lot of other reasons for them struggling, notably that they're trying to loot while etho and iskall are just caking and leaving hordes of mobs behind them, also the level is at stress's level so it's like WAY easier for etho and iskall at their higher level than for her just because they're like 10 levels higher
You should add a command that makes parties open for servers like yours. It would essentially add everyone to the same vault party and then hide it from the side bar. Would be fun to randomly have someone enter your vault while you’re running it.

Is it possible to make a PVP FFA vault? For instance....Say you invite 3 other people to your party to run the vault..and once everyone enters it disbands the party and all 4 people are sent to the North, East, South and West areas..Each gets their own separate path and rooms and you HAVE to complete each rooms objective to move to the next room until you finally get to a middle room where all 4 people duel until death and the last person standing gets everyone's crate and all of the gear picked up inside of that vault? People who die before getting to the PVP have their pick ups added to whoever stands last. People get to keep the gear they are wearing and use even if they die. It only pertains to whatever was picked up inside of the current vault. To make it more fair everyone that enters should need to be + or - five levels from each other. I've been thinking about this idea for a little while now but I don't know any of the know hows or if it is even possible. It would be a cool vault possibility to see if it can be done. Everyone can test their mettle against each other and you get to hear your enemies lament as a bonus. It would add value to more builds. Or maybe even add a pvp skill tree to make additional build styles. Do you think that would be a good idea if it's possible to do? Just a thought. 😁
I feel like you should be able to have a favor of every god, but only 1 of each, so if you do a velara altar and then do another it should override, but if you then do an idona it should just add a different one
that problem that etho has, i had it a few times. the game didnt died, it just switch to destop 2, where everything seems to gone. but its just in desktop 1.
you don't really need nerf cake vaults out right. Just give the player a lethargic debuff, requiring the player to go into other vaults before they can do another cake vault.
You should make it so that each persons crate scales from the number of cakes that they got on thier own so that if one person loots and the other only gets cakes, the cake getter will be incentivized

And I don't see a problem with it since the cake vaults always generate in a single direction ahead you can always generate the next room with added chests. And regarding the increase in damage and speed of the mobs, well you can leave it as it is now, for you will only be facing them after unlocking the room right?

You already have claustrophobic dark dungeons. The randomly appear in rooms and are recognized by a black door with an image of a mob on it in red.

Since the change, they could immediately add the chests/coins/ores too, hence the cake modifier is not random anymore.
