I’m very close to not playing the pack anymore. If he removes relics or crafting cake seals I’m done. I realize it’s his game but he ignored the fact that people play in single player world and not everyone has hours a day to play the game. Very few care about replayability which he focuses on constantly. .
I love seeing your debugging process lol, both of those bugs were fun to see it is a little bit sad to see no ore modifiers for the braziers, but I understand that it's pretty hard to add ores after the vault has generated
Fair enough. With that change coming in the future though it would make sense. I believe he mentioned it in a vod a bit ago along with the trap disarm change.
That item that voids the vault junk (random blocks and such) would benefit from the import feature. That way the wiki could have a list of all of the most likely to be voided blocks, you copy then paste right into the void machine. Removes how much of a chore it is.
Easter Egg Idea: You can cook any meat on lit braziers like on camp fires and it turns into vault steak when cooked :D Not crazy powerful but a fun mechanic
I was always a little sad that iskall got rid of "dudes" from his "see you in the next episode." However, I figured he maybe did it to be more gender inclusive. Though, based on the last few streams, that mystery still remains open... 😂
You know what will be funny make this bug into a feature where your tools that have trap disarm are reversed so you're either forced to open a chest or get trapped it could be like that troll vaults and it would be just funny when people realize there stuck with this😂 Let's just get some chaos into the vault.
a chance for that to happen in chaos vaults is actually a pretty good idea. i imagine that there would be a very small chance that one of the chaos modifiers is "anti-trapblock" or something, that uses trap disarm value as chance to have it trapped.
with the different vault modifiers that do the same thing but more (e.g. 10% item rarity and 25% item rarity), i think it would be more clear if they were instead the same modifier but different amounts of it, (e.g. 2 stacks of 5% item rarity and 5 stacks of 5% item rarity) It would reduce the jargon needed to understand the modifiers at a glance, as well as having large stacks in a brazier vault would probably feel better from an emotional perspective; having 10 stacks of 5% rarity feels a lot better seeing the double digit multiplier in the icons rather than having loads of different icons that essentially mean the same thing at lower multipliers. I also think it would clear up the GUI at the bottom right because currently new pickups get partially obscured by the vault modifiers and fewer different modifiers would mean fewer icons and therefore make it more difficult to reach the number of modifiers needed to cover the new pickups.
nah, finding a 30% rarity is waaay more exciting than finding a 5% rarity. Last one is still nice tho. But if all would be 10% rarity, it wouldn't be exited to find any of those. You don't need to know the total of rarity you have anyways. So you don't have to do the math;
@@plantcraftie4141I don't mean you only find 5% rarity, you would find 6 stacks of 5% rarity all in one go, which to me looks a lot better on the gui than 1 stack of 30% or even 1 stack of 30% and 1 stack of 10%. This isn't about showing the player current item rarity more clearly, it is about trying to make runs with loads of really good modifiers feel crazy good by having large numbers on screen rather than 3 sets of smaller numbers
@@plantcraftie4141 To actually look at the 30% you have to interrupt your gameplay, unless you have memorised all of the different names and what specific amount of vault modifier they have, rather than having a x6 on one of the icons that you can see at a glance. It is about trying to optimise the 'bigger number better' feeling and, although 6 is smaller than 30, the 6 is ever present and stacks more easily with other modifiers rather than the 30 which you only see a couple of times
It might be fun if the amount of braziers with negative modifiers increases as you level up? So at low level they're all good, but by your current level they all have a negative modifier
I really love your content Iskall, and watching the Hermits take on VH really excited me to start playing again. I had stopped playing for over a year and have been loving the all the improvements in that time. After watching Impulse run a couple of these the other day I was really looking forward to trying out these brazier vaults, but now that they have negatives every time, not just in the pillaging phase, these join the list of vault objectives that I will be ignoring and just looting. That makes Elixir vaults the only ones worth running now. You basically just made cake vaults, but with braziers instead of cakes and with more RNG. I don't know why Iskall and so many others in the VH community actively hate casual gamers like myself so much. At least if the Seal was craftable and the braziers was something you had to opt in to like cakes then it'd be fine. But instead you're forcing it on everyone. And yes, I know I could just not update, but I like all the other updates. Why should I have to miss out on the parts I like, as well as every update after that, just because you don't want casual players playing VH? I think this update has once again destroyed my interest in VH. I truly hope everyone else has fun.
I’m definitely nowhere near this point but I do agree that some of these updates feel like they’ll just push out casual players So many of these update videos can feel like “so the people who no life the game or min max are doing too well, so we’re going to nerf it” - then anyone playing casually is just left with harder experience (which when you only get like an hour to play on the occasional evening can really impact the experience)
You do of course get many more options for brazier bonuses the more players you have - if you run it single-player at lower levels without much Speed or Dash / without elytra flight, braziers would be much more of a 'always grab the first one you see' objective
Iskall, I've been thinking about gear rng since the bts episode on it, and wanted to share my thoughts on a way to let players reduce the amount of rng. Introduce a new Craftable modifier on gear. When re-rolling gear, it is treated as a locked modifier. In the modifier workbench, when you craft a new modifier and there's a Craftable in the same affix, the result of your craft replaces Craftable and is treated as a standard modifier (not locked, doesn't have the pickaxe and can't be crafted again for a better roll (edge case: it does get the pickaxe if it's the final affix)). Craftable appears on gear from the vaults with the same frequency as legendary rolls (and is mutually exclusive with legendaries). However, gear pieces players craft have a significantly higher chance (maybe 20% at lowest proficiency) of rolling Craftable. At higher proficiencies, the chance of rolling Craftable improves, and you could even get it multiple times (max 2 or 3). This would give players a path to control their gear. I think the limits (no legendaries, need to craft gear, rng of implicits and Craftable rolls, need to unlock higher tier rolls in dungeons) provide a good starting point to balance it. My only experience with VH and arpgs is your videos, so this might go against the philosophy of the game or have a massive flaw that I've missed, but it seemed like a good enough concept to share. Fwiw, I see rng as a good thing, but I think a system that reduces rng for a price feels like a good fit for the game.
Actually with chaotic foci the system described above allows players to bypass the tier restrictions on crafted modifiers. At a minimum rolls replacing Craftable would have to be exempt from chaotic re-rolls, but maybe an easier solution is just to keep them locked. You trade your ability to control the strength of a modifier for the ability to choose a specific modifier.
Iskall, just to ask; could the recent server lag be related to Xisuma's maxed-out storage system of doom in the spawn chunks? Cause he had no drawers so almost everything is in his computer? Maybe if you move spawn it might get a little better?
Is it possible to have the negative modifiers on the braziers (before pillaging) tied to vault difficulty? Like only on Normal+ ? For very casual players I think would be a good balance to be more like monoliths with opt-in.
Just curious: I know the trap disarm issue was a bug to be fixed, but I was really curious if instead of 'opening the chests and removing the loot,' could you just open the chest briefly and then mine it.
I'm quite hype for this objective. i really didn't like monoliths to too much because it took my focus from looting. i'd just back out when i'd get them.
It was insane to watch Iskall smelt a bunch of stuff for soul shards when he already had 100k soul dust/essence/powder he could have turned into soul shards
might be interesting if the brazier showed some indication of what item you would get if you pillaged it (maybe just an indication of rarity) so that there was an option to weigh pillaging it versus lighting it?
