Touring Soup Group Base with Hermits! Season 9 Finale

- This is a section of a HHH livestream I recorded, where we went to eachothers bases to look around. This is us looking at what Pearl, impulse and I have done this season on hermitcraft!
The subtle hint to get the hermits back on track for touring your base. "Yeah I really love the view of Pearl's base that you can see from INSIDE my base." 😅
Oh i wasnt trying to get them back to mine haha, I have so many windows facing pearls big plant I genuinely love it
@@GeminiTwo haha, no worries. Just caught my attention that's all. Been touring the world download and really enjoyed going through your base.

The soup group really achieved something incredible this season! The connectivity makes the individual bases even greater!
all of the Hermits did. wonderful season!
makes sense. incredible people do incredible things.
"I went Into the lava!"
"Why?!"
"Cause I'm an idiot!"
I bet the amount of lava deaths is off the charts.
Ren: Poor B-Dubs! What'd he ever do?
Cleo: Hang on, hang on. Have you *met* B-Dubs?
Ren: ...fair. True.
Damn, Cleo, you didn't have to do him like *that*
I've never heard X being so casual and animated. Usually he's either recording mode or confused (about a minigame)
This was super lovely :)
X being confused is soo truee😂
The soup group's bases tell such a great story together. This whole season I've been imagining a dwarven kingdom and an elven queendom living in harmony for centuries, trading goods and protecting each other's territory, when suddenly an alien explorer crash-lands across the river from the two realms, creates a colony filled with life from her home planet, and joins the alliance
Love this backstory!!
Gem looks out of her window at pearls landscape for half a second and I had such a visceral reaction to that shot my god lol what amazing builds
1:14 "well that worked, the whole season"
I laughed in shock then i cried because I miss Iskall on hermitcraft😂😭
maybe s10 will be Iskall's grand return.
@@nick3xtremegaming212 didn't he already rejoin for the end of this season?
@@michaelelischer1565 yes but didn't do alot.
I love when Hermits talk about build styles and techniques. My server is just finishing as well and I'm making plans for my next base. I really want to keep in mind the idea of not overly filling and overly detailing builds. To allow wide open areas, tall uninterrupted verticals, and to leave negative space around a focal point to help draw attention to it and give it room to breathe.
"Well, that worked.. the WHOLE season." Never change Cleo.
This is my favorite part when even the builders are suprised by what there built
Yea 😆
It’s so MASSIVE I could never

I LOVE that a lot of the Hermits were inspired by the Soup Group's conjoined bases. I hope there's a lot more community and collaborative building in Season X. 💕💕💕
This trio of bases was very special and it's nice to see it get some recognition.
I absolutely love when the hermits gush about each other’s work, like the way you’re all always impressed with what’s been done by everyone is such an incredible thing to have with such a large group of creatives. And how the hermits are just as much fans of Hermitcraft as we are
The hermitcraft and life series subreddits sound like the worst place in the world to be. Pearl's build is absolutely breathtaking (and the way the three builds work together is absolutely stunning). I cant believe anyone would be talking so poorly about anything the hermits create
Content creators should just ignore Reddit negativity, I cannot believe grian thinks we think the empires crossover was a flop, or any of the "flack" about bases or even getting mad about how the server is being run.
That's just true for social media in general. Social media makes money through controversies and the anonymosity catalyses that.
Even the UA-cam comments of the Hermits, sadly, aren't always safe.
I think we have to be grateful that the silent majority just ignores them and upvotes the helpful and lovely comments🥰
ikr. I'm so glad I'm not on reddit because that sounds like absolute negativity hell
To be honest, the subreddit is mostly amazing with tons of fan art, appreciation posts, and enthusiastic discussion. I think Gem’s comment about that is unfortunately something many content creators struggle with - I was listening to the Imp and Skizz podcast yesterday where Impulse was talking about how if there 9 positive comments and 1 negative one on his video, the negative one is what he fixates on. Unfortunately for any of us, it’s much easier to focus on the occasional bad actor/troll/mean-spirited person than on the much greater wealth of posts who have nothing but love to share.
@@enkays_denYeah I don’t know about other social medias, but on Tumblr hermitcraft and empires were almost constantly trending during the crossover. I think the biggest criticism I saw there was basically “I don’t really like the other server so I have trouble enjoying the videos from the people I watch”
Xisuma noticed the patter of gem’s style of building, that man lives to learn.
I really hope that group bases become a staple of Hermitcraft. The interactions and dynamics just make everything so much more enjoyable in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, solo mega bases are incredible as well but the Soup Group and Boatem from S8 were something special.
Isn't it obvious, why ppl mix up Pearl and Gem every now and then?
Cuz Gem is a real pearl, and Gem is an absolute pearl!
I like how you even mixed us up in this comment 😂
@@GeminiTwo Damn it xD
To my defense, I only got 4h of sleep and I noticed the moment I pressed send, but my phone won't let me edit the comment xD
Well, too late now, I guess. ^^
I think you got a bit mixed up dude
Lol it's OK we know what you meant
both precious in their own ways
I think what the soup group did together is really special.... it's something that's kinda been attempted but not really been successful. Combining the 3 bases. The blend was almost perfect. For me....this should be a goal for season 10....something along the lines of Hermitopia....only more expansive....
I can't help but think if they had more time in Season 8, the Boatem Gigabase (Mumbo, Grian, Scar and Pearl) might have developed into something special too. But that got cut short by the storyline, so they didn't grow into each other in quite the same way.
# plan country road
@@NezumiWorks Impulse was a part of Boatem as well, his factory was connected to the rest.
And Impulse
@@fnaffoxy1987 Oh wow, I forgot Impulse was part of that crew. It's been a bit.
one of my favorite parts about many of the hermits touring each others bases is how you can hear everyone learning and getting inspired from each other. like ren and xisuma were saying, you have incredible use of using simplicity to draw the eye towards focal points, meanwhile pearl has a bunch of different textures in one place that feels less overwhelming and more ingenuitive. everyone has skills that everyone is in awe of and i love that energy.
I feel like the Soup Group shows that you can have the incredibly large and intricate bases all connected, in a way that sometimes feels like Hermitcraft is shy about - you want enough elbow room to build, but being around other people's work is likely to inspire you as well. When Xisuma started talking about figuring out ways to puzzle more bases into the area, it made me smile, to think that you three might've inspired other hermits to try the same. Well done.
I hope they do something like that in season 10.
Thank you so much for sharing this walk through. Some of my favorite videos that are done are when the creators talk to other creators about their builds, styles, production, about their work! The tone shifts from talking to friends (your audience) about work to talking to colleagues (other Hermits) about work. It's wonderful to hear and see because for me, it adds so much depth to understanding of what you've done and what you're doing. Thank you. This season and these builds were amazing to watch.
The best words like often are Xisuma's. "This is the way to do it" and "Builders and Redstoners must unite" Yup... Remember what Hermits can do when they work together : Hermitopia, Blue River Raceways, the Soup Group bases. All examples of what yall can manage when the synergy happens. Hermits... my foot. You're more than just people living and building in isolation. Much much more! I've visited the world download since then, and I must say : this part of the map is where I spent the most time exploring and looking at everything, alongside Scarland, and Cleo's amazingly alive base. But looking at older seasons of Hermitcraft, what makes this one better imo is how people went out of their comfort zone : Scar built a castle, Xisuma built with colors and cute shapes, Impulse did armorstands, Pearl did living redstone details, and tango... Tango's decked out is the epitome of everything done right! He never built something as detailed and gorgeous, and deadly at the same time.

That’s so good ! Thats so perfectly appropriate wow
oooo! I like I like!
I love that Ren called the head dungeon evil dispite the fact that it was one of his royal quests that started it
I love that in the middle of being astonished at what the group had done, they stop to finish Gem's mob farm because they naturally have glass on them. :) Such an amazing view of everything - I really love those three bases.
I also love the hints that X and Ren were giving about co-habitating with Redstoner's
I love how well all 3 bases tie into each other. The stacked castle and dungeon, and an alien across the pond. So different, but so complementary of each other, like they're all intentionally a mega-mega base, and not 3 separate ones.
I love that X immediately asked about the custom sounds, that's really cool.
“What did Bdubs do?”
“excuse me have you ever met Bdubs??”
“That’s fair”
14:28 this "lifeless empty megabase" has more life in it than that reddit person's existance..
Ignore them hermits, your builds are some of the best builds ever made in Minecraft!
I mean, that statement was probably true for some periods of time when Pearl was beginning to work on her megabase.😅
But the end result is what counts, not the process to it.😊
I like how it’s just called the Soup Group but it looks like a completely soup kingdom
Cleo is thinking, "You built your base above someone else's base without that being a secret task you needed to complete?"
I'm really hoping that more hermits come together like this in the next season! What the soup group achieved here was astonishing and I'd be so excited to see more like this. I love how close many of the hermits collaborated this season, and I'm always wanting more so definitely looking forward to season 10!!
I really hope more hermits decide to base together like the soup group did in the next season. It facilitates epic builds, but also so much great interaction.
Cleo just casually agreeing when Gem said its so cool with the verticality and living above someone after episode 1 of Secret Life 😂
A "Hermitwood" (Hollywood theme) area with a walk of fame using map art to create the stars for content creators' names on the walkways would be a great way to commemorate all the collaborations in the future! It would look good in the background of the season 10 spawn area!
Now that season 10 has started, you can see how much the soup group’s triple -megabase inspired the rest of the hermits and got them super excited for trying to do the same sorta thing in season 10.
That’s so awesome.
I really hope season 10 mega bases are alot like soup group was for this season. It was so much fun watching this come together and all the interaction between the 3.
This is what I would love to see more of next season - the hermits getting a tour of bases. Maybe it could be a server wide thing once a month starting after 3 months of HCX? A randomly drawn hermit will get to give a tour of their base and plans (no spoilers, of course) and the other hermits will have the opportunity to see it all and maybe give feedback/ideas of where they could go even if the hermit doesn't end up doing it (or maybe it's already part of a spoiler plan).
That random hermit who gives the tour would be the only one who gets to upload that footage of the other hermits in their base so it would make each base tour very special and pull viewers (hopefully) from one player base to another?
I often hear from hermits that they really don't know what's going on in other bases/storylines because obviously they don't have time to watch 24 other POVs like the audience does. So this could be a cool way of keeping everyone in the loop in some way. And maybe just by touring other hermits bases, natural collabs might form because one or more hermit(s) would see something they could help with (automate/build) at the base of the month.
I cant wait for season 10 gem you did so amazing this season of hermitcraft!!
Soup Group has been one of the coolest dynamics to see, combined with the insane talent of each person is just mindblowing. Thank you Gem for contributing so greatly to such an amazing season! Can’t wait for S10 💥
This is what I really like about Hermitcraft - the interactions between Hermits! You all are amazing on your own but together it's just something on another level!
To be fair it isn't the first time hermits had built their base close to each other (the whole Boatem crew in Season 8 for example), but the chemistry of the Soup Group's base themes worked so well that it got to a whole other level.
It seems like every hermit is extra excited for season 10! I don't know how but I'm sure Gem will find a way to be even greater in the new season
I'm really going to miss the soup group. You three worked together so well and your three bases work together incredibly well while still being so different. It's wonderful. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us!
Love what the soup group did this season, would love to see more of this interconnectivity in season 10!!! (Its basically what they did with s8, but s8 was the short season, whereas here i think it almost worked even better!)
I really like this. It would be cool to have more Hermits giving tours of their bases at the end of the season
Everyone has been loving the connections between the soup group bases, so I really hope more people will do that next season
I just love hermits looking at eachothers builds! They always are so suprised by what others have built and its so wholesome just to see them compliment one and others. I can't wait to see what you and all the other hermits do in season 10, because I know its going to be AMAZING
I love these candid moments of you guys just talking to each other instead of your audience. Watching you all wander around and genuinely marvelling at soup groups collective creativity is so wholesome
I still remember fools doubting Gem for the megabase build. Now this whole thing is three works of art together.
The Soup Group trio of bases really is something special, not very often you see 3 incredible bases so perfectly linked together and while they're all different they also fit in nicely, I love it so much, whether it's the Soup Group or another group I hope one day we can see something similar in a future Season whether that's 10 or 20
I love this. It's always so great when the Hermits visit each other and appreciate what they've accomplished! I wish every season ended with base tours. 😊
I love this vid. ❤ I’ve now watched it three times and it just came out. There’s no role play, plot, or seemingly purposeful storytelling… Just friends sharing and showing genuine, heartfelt respect and admiration for one another. I absolutely love it. Thank you for sharing this part of your lives with us.
Seeing it all finished it's just a work of art. What this trio has done is so great I can't even put it into words. By far the best area of the entire Hermitcraft 9 world in my opinion. Absolutley spectacular!
We need everyone to build the exterior of a base for Etho that he can live inside and do all his redstone
So glad that other Hermits got a look around your bases, they are by far my favorite this season!
The soup group was my fav part of this season, and to think it all started with a behind you Gem.
The creeper explosions in the collection of heads tower gave it an evil scientist vibe. Especially since we never see the actual creepers from this perspective.
It’s amazing how much work has been done by all the hermits. Can’t wait for season 10.
All of your bases are so impressive and detailed!
I think the biggest take away from this video is that cleo is good at following the tour guide, but not so much the other Hermits 🤣
This was such a nice piece of bonus content! Would love more clips like this!
I need Cleo to tell me more about her plan for moving armor stands. Every time I remember that they can't ride boats or minecarts I mourn the loss of the Tuff Golem all over again.
I can't speak for cleo, but I remember doing piston slime block bouncers for them ages ago! I bet stuff like that is even more possible these days
@@GeminiTwoThat's right! I remember hearing that all of Decked Out's outrageous doors and animations are "just" armor stands! Wild to think about.
Etho also had these in Shade-E-Es! They were pushed by a water stream iirc
There's a method of triggering them to vary between poses with redstone.
I believe the scarland gate guards have this implemented.
I'm so excited for the bases to develop on season 10, because almost everyone is this distance apart from each other. And at this point we can already see the bases start to come together (Especially with Joel and Impulse connecting their cyberpunk cities, and literally everything in the southern neighborhood).
scarland vs soup group gigabase, both are easily the best bases on the server- just so much passion, attention, and artistic design in every element
Ahh this is what I was missing from everyone elses final videos, the rundowns and server tours are great but nothing beats that but with multiple hermits, your interactions are still the best part about hermitcraft to me.
“To kill me”
“Oh yeah I needed your cranium”
I love how unhinged that would sound to outside viewers 🤣
Ooooh I can already see some more hermits getting inspired to build interconnected megabases and form more alliances next season! I cant wait! Perhaps the soup group will expand
I really hope season 10 has more of this interlinked bases. I think at this point going bigger really isn't better, so the next level is something like this imo. The soup group base is amazing
HAPPY NEW YEAR!🎇🎉
We should have more of the Gem and Pearl podcast, maybe you could discuss how hard building your bases were because they look insane 😎
RIP Doc's upcoming mega perimeter. They already have plans to plug it up
I love this place, I've been just hanging out around soup group in the world download, and I kinda unintentionally ended up cleaning Gem's stoarge room lol, I just really liked pottering around the place and finding details I'd missed in videos. Sadly though the custom discs didn't come with the world download, they're all disc 13. I've got all the other data pack stuff just not that
Love love this season. I hope you guys do it again.. a lengthy time frame. So wonderful
Love hermits being in awe like us with the soup group's bases. Well-deserved!
The soup group base is such an amazing collab, suoer psyched for your dark fantasy vibes youre brewing for next season ❤❤❤❤❤❤
X absolutely threw in that "this is the way to do it" there at the end to screw with us about what S10 will bring ;p
Congrats Gem 🎉 Amazing season! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for season 10
Operation country roads has soooo much potential! I hope the hermits attempt it, even if it’s not for the whole season and instead just the occasional event.
9:30 - The concept of using flat surfaces as basically 'negative space' so that they don't get in the way of the details that you *do* put in.
Next season, it would be cool if all the mega bases were interconnected in some way. It clearly works, as the soup group and Boatem were some of the coolest areas in their respective seasons
Love all the different accents and how kind you all are to each other
the hints to skizz and joel was a good touch in your base
soup group i feel is an incredible group definitely a favorite, the builds are just so amazing!!
Honestly Gems base this season was absolutely amazing! I was so excited to get the world download just so I could go explore it with my sibling. The castle feels very homey and alive and I was just in awe the whole time we were exploring it :D
Pearl's base is otherwolrdly and deserves hours of praise. Glad to have these snippets.
I really am looking forward to what happens in season 10. The talk of everyone potentially building really close together again is gonna be cool
This is main channel worthy, it was so fun and amazing
That "someone on the sub said Pearl's base was a lifeless megabase" might've been me as I did say something along those lines.
What I meant with that is that while it looks amazing and has lots of detail, it doesn't really feel lived in as not much happened there outside of her building it. So many things happened in the starting village, season 8's Boatem, and season 7's shopping district, and that makes it feel much more life-like, like an actual place people live and do stuff. It's the interactions that are my favourite thing about Hermitcraft, not the huge megabuilding projects. Of course you do need cool builds, but for me personally I'd prefer it if less time was spent on megabuilds and more on fun wacky interactions/things in the bases and builds.
In my experience the best silly interactions happen because we are all mega base building going slightly insane! You know where someone is to prank them, people are on long hours and are easy to find.
When I’ve been on SMPs where people don’t mega build, there are interactions, but overall the server dies quicker. The artists need some art to keep em online and the farmers need a good reason to farm more
@@GeminiTwo That's entirely fair. While I've built some pretty large bases and have been on small servers with friends I've never done anything on the scale of Hermitcraft, both in terms of size and time, so you'd know it better than I do.
Edit: I just want to say I've really enjoyed the season, and in particular your and Pearl's videos, so I'm very excited for season 10!
Such a simple tour filled with so much adoration and joy. Looking forward to next season.
so good to get a tour! The Soup Group really did just KNOCK it all out of the park, easily far and away my favorite three builds on the server, no contest
absolutely beautiful Gem! Ive been among the older fans of hermitcraft, watching it from about s3, but by far the most spectacular bases, events and shenanigans went down in season 9, really looking forward to s10!
Love your art gem!!! Happy holidays to you and Winnie and can’t wait to see what you do next season. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
💖 I have totally loved this season, all the hermit interactions, your cheerful and delightful murdering, the lovely builds, secret message tunnels, raid on the mansion, "Gem-behind you!", and all around fun times. I'm also happy that you had a bunch of dads for your trip. 😊 Impulse worked like a dwarf-insane build, podcasts, industrial mother board. Pearl is a wonder, (murder camel, decked out Queen) i hope you all have this much fun every season! Happy late Christmas, early New Year, and well deserved break time. 👏 👏👏 Soup Group!
Pearl's base is the ultimate form of 'Plastic Fantastic.' But, applied to Cub's mooshroom island base... A sigh for the oft-maligned season five.
And, excitement for a hopeful (mostly) server-giga-base. I keep hearing this 'country road' reference; I don't know what that is if it's a star wars universe thing, but I imagine a linear arrangement of bases along a path. Or, maybe along the banks of a massive river. Or, filling up a large island or archipelago. Or the shores of a land-locked ocean....
But, yeah, more closely situated basing and collabs with neighbors for transition zones. More builder-farmer collabs (maybe gem joins a resurrected Sahara?.. err, Birchia? ... we can work on the name later, right?)... And, while season five is on me brain, why not help a Scar out with any big-digging and have a GOAT just kick out a mega cave to order, so we can get a true underground shopping area without all the, uh, big-digging :)
Anywho.. great season, Soup Group... the vision of the future? "This is, like, the way to do it right here..."
"Next time we cover docs perimeter"
I want to see that! :D
I love how Hermits are always supporting each other!! Gem, the interactions you had with other hermits this season were so much fun to watch! Your POV was/is a personal comfort while in college! Your builds are stunning and I’m always entranced when you explain your creative process! (I saw your moodboard on Twitter, and the concept is EPIC!). Creativity takes so much time and effort, and especially when it’s your job, I’m sure it must be incredibly draining at times. I’ll never take for granted how much energy I’m sure you put on screen and off. ❤ Thank you for another amazing season, and a Happy New Year!
next season could be Redstoner people and Builders teamed up working on one base per team, i reaally want to see a functional gate with pistons in one of these giga builds.
Not beating the country roads allegations haha
I love what all 3 of you have done, the styles are so differents but it all fit together so well ! Such a good idea and a great collab :)
this was really nice to watch! i definitely want to try the world download now
