Thanks for your tutorials. I really like them.
In this tutorial the white rectangles are smaller than the black ones, basically because of the thickness of the dividing lines which add to the black rectangles. Is there an easy way to get them the same? I guess you can’t give the lines zero width.

I’m trying to do something like this but with an American flag and a Jamaican flag. Is there a way to get flags to look waging?

Great Video as always ! One thing :
Can you tell me how to get the dark theme for Inkscape ? Mine is white and i think the black one is way more reassuring than the white one :)

+PsychoVid Thank you. If you're using Linux, you'll have to install a dark theme for Linux. The theme I'm using is called Vertex Dark and I got it from the noobslab website. If you're using Windows, just search UA-cam for "inkscape dark theme windows" and there should be a video for it.

    Thank you!
Everything went perfectly except for one thing (grrr!) Once I've made and selected for example a rectangle and duplicated it, SHIFT and the space bar fail to duplicate another copy in terms of a SINGLE copy. However, if I hold SHIFT and the space bar together, and drag my mouse down, I will create a bunch of copies dragging down the page.
Update - yes SHIFT and space bar DO work for me creating a single copy. However I have to press the space bar unreasonably hard on my keyboard to get a result and I only get a duplicate about every 10th time I try. Normal pressure does nothing. Perhaps I have a dodgy space bar.

+Nadine White That'll happen. I remember an older keyboard I had a while back has a sticky spacebar that needed a forceful push.

Nick Saporito I'll have to try on another computer and check it out - it's a frazzled-face moment when things that should work don't.

Ctrl Left Click and Spacebar doesn't work for me
    (the duplicating through that)

+Dragenyx DeReaVe me either, just keep holding CTRL and D to quickly duplicate

+Dragenyx DeReaVe try clicking on both paths at the same time then use Extensions> Generate from Path> Interoplate...a dialogue will then pop up...enter the number of steps you want in the Interoplation Steps (ie. 8...this will give you 8 paths in a single group...ungroup before moving on)...DO NOT use Duplicate End Paths, and use Live Preview before applying.

+sithlordofVA Which operating system are you guys using, and which version of Inkscape? I've never had a problem with that not working.
