  • As I roll into the third month of my weight loss journey I struggle with motivation and start making excuses for not being disciplined. However there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If you would like a chance to win any Kali Protectives helmet and a set of the Strike pads, make a video about your weight loss and put #tubby2020 in your show more. On November 6th, we'll select a winner. Best of luck to you all!

Thank you for your honesty and transparency. I was 250, and you inspired me to start riding everyday and lose the weight! I’m a month in and I’m 230 now!!! Keep it up and so will I!

That’s what’s up bro, I’m 250lbs and I’m 5’5 in height pretty short and obese due to not being active and poor health choices; over drinking and over eating. I’m trying to loose as much as possible to get down to 140lb where I’d be considered normal weight for my age 23. Any advice for a a beginner bike rider? Much appreciated God bless ✌️😎

Love the videos! Thanks for the motivation and influence! I can relate 100% to everything you have said! It’s definitely a challenge! But nothing comes easy and only makes us stronger! I’m starting my journey this month! My bike arrives next week! But in the meantime doing workouts and watching what I eat! Week 1 down and I’m down 4lbs! Let’s Go!!!!

Hey Robert, just dropping by to say you helped motivate me and keep me on track. Your video was exactly what I needed to see this morning. I was facing some of the same things as you, my weight loss was slowing, I started incorporating beers after rides and eating pizza and other treats. Been a tough week but heres to getting back after it. Thanks Brotha!

You're killin it on progress! What worked for me was viewing it less of a diet and challenge and more of lifestyle changes. I went from 250 to 180, which is definitely not as drastic and I didnt move as fast. My biggest motivator was consistency and creating habits. Doing it every day at the same time made it second nature; whether its working out, riding, or eating. You got this, dude. You've come so far, but at the end of the day, its not about numbers. It's about the progress you've made and the life choices you committed to. Keep killin it!

    • @B1KER

Thanks for the inspiration man! I didn’t realize how many ideas i stole from you till a month after i watched your first video. I started writing down my weight every Monday and did the beer cap in the bootle thing other than i used rocks. Having a physical representation of the weight falling off helps a ton!
So being okay with this thing being a marathon not a sprint helps too (aka being okay with losing 1-3lbs a week).
Also I started mountain biking in August!!!
I started at 325lbs on august 22nd and have lost 21lbs so far!!! Thanks again man!!

Rob, up the irons my man, go down swinging and fight that inner demon that we all deal with. That inner voice that is the worst and weakest link standing in our way. The late "Ultimate Warrior" used to call that voice, Mr. Resistance. Because it rides you, tells you your goal don't mean crap and we are crap. You have come so far man it's a journey and the process is a daily fight. You're gonna come out a better person. Faith, Fight, Finish!

Your passion for MTB is infectious! Awesome that you are in the community and thanks for your channel. When I ride a bike I feel like I'm 8 again. I'm older than you, by a good bit, and heart disease runs in my family. Started making changes to my diet 20 months ago. For me they were very sustainable as each made me feel much better. If I can offer any advice brother, it's that this is a marathon and not a sprint. If you want to consider dietary changes further, I would recommend the book "How not to die". Also, love your garage. Do you woodwork as well? You got this man!

Dude Good Fucking Job man! Your work is inspirational to many & I can feel it 💯👏🏼
On Oct 13th I will have been Absolutely Sober off any alcohol for 1 FULL YEAR! Might be small but for me that’s the best I’ve done since getting out of college 🏫 ☝🏼 I was almost 200lbs and drinking was too easy for me & I knew I never wanted time be 200 lbs for my frame & had to be real with myself if I wanted to get in shape to race the (2020California Enduro Series, which for me didn’t happen with Covid & Races being canceled) but I didnt let it stop me from my progress kuz like you said.. when your out riding and you feel so much more alive and more capable on the bike.. nothing compares to knowing your hard work pays off!
I now weight in at my target weight of 165lbs and people still ask if I’ll ever drink again, but honestly it’s these day to day choices that’s made it so much easier to be happy with myself! I feel like having the power of choosing what I want in my life has freed me from wanting the things that gave me my artificial happiness before! It’s easier now to say all this because on week 4-8 it was almost a daily accomplishment to just keep making the right choices..
Really just wanted to say great job man & keep up your amazing work! Nobody will ever be perfect but why should it stop us from trying everything we can with each new day we get! 🤗❣️

This is one of the best video I have watched. You allowed yourself to be transparent and vulnerable which super hard for men. I respect and appreciate you for sharing your journey. I too lost weight from riding bikes. I lost a little over 32lbs and dropped about 5% body fat since the beginning of May.
You gotta remember that you’re also clanging weights and maybe some of the gain could be muscle mass. I know that there will be times in your journey that you will not see changes on the scale because of it. Don’t be discouraged and definitely don’t stress over it. Stress contributes to retaining unwanted weight because it shocks the body into survival mode and subconsciously making you want to eat.
You can still have a little beer, pizza, chips and tacos but in moderation. First you need to have discipline. Think about this, what do you want more? Dropping 80lbs, be healthy, improve your stamina for riding and other stuff or indulge in not so healthy habits to gain high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, sluggishness and no energy to ride you best. YOU GOT THIS! I am so excited for you on losing Alvin Harper’s jersey number (80).
Hope you can get some MTB in considering the Napa/Santa Rosa fires. I plan on hitting Crockett tomorrow with my cousin. I’m cheering for you! 👍🏼💪🏼🤙🏼
