    I've made this dish, but didn't add soy sauce because too much sodium, I substituted brown sugar, it came out delish, Salute!

      Very nice. I love improvising so glad you did too. You can try coconut aminos as well. Another good alternative not just to this but any other dishes that require soy sauce.

    Add a little crushed red peppers and it adds a spiciness to the sweetness... So good

    Thank you... it was still delicious eventhough I burned the honey. will try again, but next time use lower heat on the stove and before placing into the broiler.

      Yes definitely put it on lower heat before it goes in to broil. Each stove is different so you will need to adjust timing and heat. I'm sure you're going to ace it the next time.

    Incredible recipe! We swapped butter and honey with a lower-calorie honey mustard sauce to slightly drop the sugars. I put up a video on our channel if anyone needs the recipe.

      It was perfect was us..nicely moist and flaky. Not dry at all. Ofcourse it all depends on the thickness of your salmon steak as well so you will have to adjust the timing accordingly.

    I hate using a cast iron skillet on my new glass top stove. Do I have to use a cast iron skillet?

      I used cast iron due to the even cooking and getting a good sear. If you don't like cast iron then you could use any oven proof stainless steel pan that you can put in the oven in the latter half of the recipe to get that nice broiled crispy look. Let me know how it turns out. Or if you have a barbecue that has a separate stove, then you could use the cast iron on that.

      I seasoned it with basic salt and pepper at the beginning of the video but you can certainly add other condiments if you please.

      Never tried that before. I am sure it would work but probably won't get the same texture/ crispness

      I broiled it on the high setting but if yours doesn't have a high setting do it at 450 Fahrenheit for about 5 minutes or more but check for that nice browning.

      Hi Amy, I put it on the broil setting. So the heat is on top of the food to get that charred look on the salmon.

    Forgive my novice question, but what temperature do you have your oven on when you begin to broil the Salmon?

      My apologies Anthony. I have a setting on my oven called "broil" with no option to change. I can only set a timer for how long. If you have a temperature gauge then, I would do it on about 450 Fahrenheit for about 5 minutes.

      Its not necessary however, I personally like the crispness when broiled but improvise as you see fit.

    Surprised the garlic didn't burn. If I make this I'd use clarified butter. Takes another couple of minutes to make. Where does the recipe say cook salmon in the pan for 5 minutes?

      Yea you should always improvise and put your own spin on it for your liking. I just put it in the pan for a few minutes on the stove and then again the oven for a few minutes to broil. Each person's oven is different so the time will vary as well.

      I put it on the broil setting which does not have a temperature gauge for me but I would put it on 450 Fahrenheit for about 5-6 minutes if I don't have broil.
