I really like that scene when Ranbir confronted Ileana's character in front of her house and in the background Hemanta Mukhopadhya was playing subtly. That scene alone locked my heart for Ranbir forever. Also i liked the shot where Priyanka's character tries to protect Barfi from Ileana at the very end confirming that Barfi belongs to her. Both Ranbir and Priyanka were phenomenal. I miss this kind of Bollywood so much. ❤️
Barfi is one of the most heartwarming films in recent times and one of my personal favorites. Though I enjoyed Jagga Jasoos, I personally felt that movie is pretty underrated. It should have been applauded just for the sheer scale, imagination and the jaw dropping visuals. Not to forget Pritam's superb OST. Looking forward to Basu's next.
Ananda Krishnan I still want to believe Priyanka did a Phenomenal job. I do agree with you to certain extent. She might not be hitting all the right notes all the tiime but she gave some pretty memorable moments. But Vidya was out and out flawless. She nailed Vidya Bagchi , kinda reminds me of Dutto's character and how Kangna nailed that in TWMR.
Both Ranbir and priyanka' s performance was equally excellent . whereas Ranbir got all award including national award but priyanka didn't even got filmfare .I'm not saying kahani was bad but they could choose both actresses . The most sadest part is not only barfi time but same happened with Mary Com movie too .
Bollywood award's functios are all about money investment, whoever pay money for award, will get the award, that's why Kangana and Amir don't attend award functions. And as you know, Ranbir's family is enough rich to pay for the award and hiddenly can deal for the award

Dear Anurag Basu, I'm always confused about sending my tribute to you for giving us BARFI. I am always "having to" think if what you came up with in the form of BARFI was actually intended the way it is. Like, I know you were meticulous enough to make it a masterpiece both technically and aesthetically, but what it turns out to be is completely out of the world. It gives so paradoxical feelings that I can't even explain it to myself. The lighting, the colour themes, the camera work, the locations, performances, blending of humanism and a bit of capitalistic norms (just to emphasize the beauty of spirituality and serenity of human life, are all not only present, but blended so strangely. Pritam, too, may not have thought what he would bring to us.. bravo!! Your film has multiple transitions. It takes us on a tour of the alleys of love, light, happiness, nostalgia, spontaneity, doing without doing, rich emptiness, humbleness, romance, innocence, and what not. The attention to detail I see in your work is so commendable that I don't have words to express it. You put spot light behind tiny objects to make bright and dark go hand in hand. Your story & screenplay go slow with a quick pace. I can say, or maybe any one can regard my comment as subjective to a big extent coz I'm unable to describe my feelings BARFI instills in me, however, I believe that most of the world's people who watched it have the same emotions. Vidya Balan was beyond excellent in Kahaani and deserved all the praise she got. But Priyanka Chopra is Barfi was even more exceptional - she deserved more recognition for sure. However my favourite performance of 2012 was Sridevi in English Vinglish - Sri deserved all the awards that year. Filmfare should have given her Best Actress as well as Critics Choice and also the Lifetime Achievement Award ;)

No! Taking out the pocket, and tying that "naara" was cute and reminded Dada Anurag basu of his daughter, but all other Barfi-Jhilmil scenes were beautiful boy girl romance and they marrying each other brought a big smile to our faces 😃
