this isnt fair. cbs has many other fine hit shows such as "Foreigners Are Hilarious" and "The Cops Literally Never Do Anything Wrong"
i forgot about blue bloods
StanWorship and survivor but without surviving and 4 women talk about rich Mom problems.
A show about outraged millennials has outraged a millennial. Oooooooh, the irony.
Oh don’t forget about my mom’s favorite show, “Infidelity is Hilarious”
@@estebansteverincon7117 Mentioning a show catering to smarmy boomers conjured a smarmy boomer. How Predictable.
"I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now what I'm with isn't 'it', and what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me..."
IT'LL HAPPEN TO YOU......
Damn kids and their "it". Back then we didn't HAVE an "it" to be with! Only thing WE had was a pair of shoes when we had to travel uphill both ways to get to work then back home! And the SHOES were if we were LUCKY!
That Joel McHale folding his arms animation fucking kills me
i'm so glad they animated this, it's one of my favorite cgi bits... i think about "what is this, your safe space?" CONSTANTLY
"what is this your SAFE SPACE"
WHY IS CBS SO MAD AT US
we dont watch enough of their shows so they dont earn as much ad revenue from us
Dem
Well they should start making quality content for a change then.
Liam F.
they should, but its easier to just make fun of the less profitable demographic.
Dem no demographic is less profitable unless you're shitty at marketing. which CBS is...
Sarah Kelpe-Schmitz because we don't watch their shitty shows
I watched Joel McHale malign The Bachelor and millennials on Kimmel tonight and guess what? McHale is TOTALLY everything shitty about this show. He is not a nice gentleman.
The delivery of "They're very millennials" "Ohhhh nooo" cracks me up every time. Thanks nate & garvin
I love how the generation that had the cold war and mass lead poisoning has the balls to mock younger generations for idiocy.
The difference is that they fought to fix their problems, they just didn't know about many of them. Millennials know enough to determine the correct outcome and then put in the effort to screw it up because they don't care. This is the generation that supported a president based on their gender, after all.
you had a fucking moron as your other fucking president and wasnt sanders the one with a strong young support base.
The Cold War spanned several generations
I want to have Griffin saying "I didn't do anything" on command so that I can play it every time this comes up
It's cuz millennials don't watch tv or sitcoms anymore
what's tv?
as a millennial I'd watch them if they were made for me, but they aren't. They're made for people 40+
This. Tv and broadcast networks especially have no stake in appeasing younger people that don't want STUPID FUCKING CABLE BUNDLES WHO THE FUCK USES A HOME PHONE?!
Anyway younger people just stream or pirate what they want so they put the money into shows that jack-off the older people who keep paying for cable out of habit. You know the situation is bad when even your parents start cutting it out too.
gosh golly I wonder why
Maybe the writers should try being funny.
I'm sad they skipped the olive garden bit
Amelia Kurtz I would have loved to seen Joel mchale's horrifyingly puppeted facsimile call a waitress an sjw for having a nose piercing/dyed hair/not having an hourglasses figure.
There was more to this amazing bit?! I have to see the rest of this. Idk where to find which episode this was though
@@Ineedanaccountnow0 old message ik, but they have links to the full ep in all of the descriptions of these cgi videos
@@merch_andise Yeah except the link doesn't work :/
THEYRE SO FUCKING MAD AT US?? I DIDNT DO ANYTHING
3rd wave feminism. And Tumblr.
i cant believe every millenial the only important thing theyve done is to a website most of them use and a movement theyre torn about and notions most older people and news sites barely talk about.
We didn't invent either one of those things bub. If you think tumblr is THE SOURCE for shitty discourse and idiocy, then you're deep in the political shithole, because shit like reddit and 4chan get even more disgusting and logically bankrupt, but remain under the radar because the political beliefs are establishment. Tumblr has GOOD AND BAD DISCOURSE, and a lot of good things have come out of it. Extracting the gold from the shit is something you have to do in all places on the internet. It's not new or unique. All tumblr bashing is a mix of cherry picking and pro-bigotry political bias. Plain and simple. Unless you're complaining about the website's programming. In which case everyone agrees.
Also, I don't give a shit what "wave" it is, feminism is important. People often specify "third wave" or """feminazi""" when they want to bash feminism in general without seeming sexist. Truth be told, I haven't seen a single damn person condemn "third wave" feminism and then also support feminism in general.
Basically, if it's up to millennials to attack bigotry, so be it. If all forms of anti-bigotry, good or bad, are attributed to us, well, shit, I guess that's something we're just going to have to deal with. But if you attack millennials for being anti-bigot, then fuck you, fuck the horse you rode in on, and fuck your grandma. And you can write that on my grave.
These videos are my new favorite thing on Polygon, I swear to god. It's amazing that the editor makes two static portraits so expressive.
These Cool boys did to Joel McHale what CBS does to milleniums
Maddy Leaman exactly
Maddy Leaman may i direct you to the last ten seconds
Maddy Leaman Except that's what that stupid is all about.
Also, last ten seconds, listen.
McHale was a cranky character in Community as well, but there he was accompanied by actual good boys - Troy and Abed. This just seems like shit
Elwood It's sort of like if Community made a spinoff series of just Pierce being racist, and it suddenly becomes a lot less funny. You can't take a character foil away from a show and start treating him as gospel.
What is this, your SAFE SPACE!?
oh my god im so happy you guys uploaded this. i saw the bit on tumblr and wanted so badly for it to be more accessible. im bummed you left out the olive garden bit but it's still fucking perfect and i love this so much
i love you guys im screaming shfbfmfn
miss cyanide i see you everywhere and i love your icon!
FINALLY they animated this bit! ive been quoting griffin for quite a while now with that whole "CAN YOU FUCKING CHILL OUT FOR A SECOND, PLEASE?" bit
It should be noted that it got canceled for exactly the reasons you expect that it would. Literally no one wanted to watch 40 year-olds bitch and moan about people half their age. I do feel bad for Joel McHale though. He was hilarious when he hosted The Soup. Not sure why he wasted his talent on that garbage pile of a show.
o shit. it went kaput?
holy fuck, i went into the comment section of the news articles relating to the cancellation of The Great Indoors and found this sad little boy clinging to hope
"Fan outcry has saved one show already this year. Let's all get on Twitter and let CBS see how bad we want to keep this show alive. Tweet using #SaveTheGreatIndoors - come on guys, we can do it!"
it's been almost a month, went to twitter and searched up the hashtag and only 60 tweet came up (found a pattern that almost everyone tweeted the hastag 2 times). so basically 30 people tried to rustle CBS's feathers but gave up last week.
This show did not insult emotional support dogs! They are very good dogs doing very good work.
"Big Bang Theory 2" was such a lowkey burn though hot damn
This is my emotional support animal
that's not A THING UREGHRUGH
ive been waiting for this since the episode aired
Whoever animates these is a hero and a genius.
I tried watching three episodes of The Great Indoors. That's the chance I usually give shows and that's all I could stand of that show. 😾
I tried watching it since I love "Community" but I could not get past the first episode
Hunter Red it's weird cause Joel picked a show that was the entire antithesis of Community for his next show
"joel, YOU have a macbook pro" is one of the funniest things i ever heard
Aaaand this show got cancelled! God bless.
"Be a real man and cut your hair and stop listening to that rock and roll crap!"
every now and then i come back to this just to hear the "thATs nOT a THIING-uh" part
my favorite type of Griffin is the "furious about old people being angry at millennials" Griffin
Boomers; never in the field of human history did so many people that had it so good mess things up so badly for so many people.
and today it was announced that The Great Indoors has been kicked out the door.
Here to celebrate the fact that The Great Indoors got cancelled.
1:15 Griffin has never sounded more like Justin
Joel Mchale becomes Busto Godtrash 0:50
I just saw Gordon Ramsay doing what is being described here on an episode of hot ones. A bit disappointed, tbh
wheres car boys
WHERE ARE MY SWEET CAR BOYS
DDSN I feel and I am sad
DDSN griffin is on paternity leave so it'll be back next year!
DDSN the griffson has been draining the soft boy's podcast/video energy crystals. He will return.
too bad nick died or whatever
FINALLY.... ITS ANIMATED
Six years later and this rant still applies.
...but...but...an emotional support animal is a thing.....
Real talk though? Survivor was real good this season despite the shitty theme
"this is my emotional support animal"
"ttHHtahhat's not a thiIIInggg!"
I love angry millennial griffin
I like to watch for Joel and all the legs are nice.
I thought they made fun of Millennials and the older generation at the same time?
Wow, Griffin is so good at throwing his voice it sounds like there’s 2 people in this scene.
god fucking dammit I miss this podcast
yeah for real why did nick have to be an ass? and now griffin is leaving polygon and my world is crumbling (though the new season of the adventure zone seems super promising)
Favorite part about this is the part in Griffin's dome the audio animation gives him. Looks like he has a fresh high top fade incoming.
YES
They changed the name of this video, didn't they?
Did they also change the video a bit? I'm not positive...
Yo, it used to say "why does CBS hate millenials"
"wh AT Is thIS YOUr sAFE SPaaAACE?"
cbs is mad because as a MILLENIAL I never actively watch CBS shows except for Person of Interest after I heard it was gay. and they canceled and heterosexualized that one
yeah it does! if you want the gay storyline start at season 2 episode 16 lol
This is exactly why i love nick and griffin, their comments have a weird inverse of 95% positive and 5% negative,, instead of the other way around!
I mean i think this is one of the first times where i've seen homosexuality brought up and it's super supportive and nice!
Hi five to you two!
God I'm so glad this is in video format
Seriously tho, what did I do
Nick is the best thing!!
didn't know Simone was in this ep
this video seems 10 minutes long in my memory; I am perpetually surprised that it's only 2 minutes long.
THAT'S NOT A THINNNGGUUUUUUEEEEEEUUUUHHHHH
Great job!
"[weird laughter] I DIDNT DO ANYTHIIIIIIING"
Is it just me or did the video title change?
Lee Webster Yeah. Used to be "Why Does CBS Hate Millenials?" Guessing CBS took exception to that title.
I think about this bit a lot. It's no better in 2019.
Nick's Joel impression is SPOT ON
Is Joel a millennial? How old is he?
bingo bango bongo oh okay thanks, I was wondering.
my mom loves the great indoors oh my god
soft boys
lol
been waiting for this one
I live for this
Us? Griffin is 17? @_@
At this point "millennial" refers to anybody who entered the workforce after the year 2000. As a matter of fact iirc the "last of the millenials" turn 18 this year?
"Millennials" technically includes anyone born from the early 1980s to the mid-1990s/early 2000s (demographers and researchers can't really agree on a proper ending date), so yes, Griffin and Nick are technically millennials.
I showed this to my mom and she immediately disregarded the argument at the word "masturbating", because it "wasn't intelligent at that level."
Meanwhile the both of us are huge South Park fans. I can taste the hypocrisy.
the great indoors is fucking great
...no
this video pretty much sums up exactly why millennials deserve to be hated on principal.
you didnt do anything griffin, they're mad at nick not u.
"millennial" is so fuckin ambiguous/vague these days
pretty sure it used to mean Generation Y, which Griffin is part of same as Nick. and me.
bravetherainbow people dislike millennials because our generation is primarily over dramatic and self entitled. we earned the nickname generation me from our lack of social responsibility. we created modern feminism and social justice, and made everyone hate it so much that outright racism has become more socially acceptable than it was during generation x. not that it would matter, because millennials have made it so you're a racist no matter what you do or say. a vast majority of millennials are anti free speech, because if other people were allowed to say mean things to them they wouldn't be generation me. they're progressive towards regressive ideologies and if it wasn't for their recent surge in unpopularity they could have done serious damage to the worlds morality by creating an authoritarian thought control nightmare right out of a science fiction movie. so we did plenty, and the hate for our generation is justified.
obviously there are millennials that aren't like that, since i am a millennial too. but it's clear that they are the majority, and when you are talking about a generation it is the majority that you are referring to. billions of people are never all going to be the same but there will be similarities within individual generations because they all grew up around the same time.
Bud you have no idea what entitlement is until you see a 40-year-old white woman try to return something at Target without a receipt
Yeaaaah that doesn't happen
rampageR there are actual thousands of videos on youtube of exactly that.
