Getting this a week before Nationals and just gonna let it lane shine up from there, the original was so good with lane shine
I thought it looked very close to the original. I then got to throw it at a demo, and confirmed that. I know I can’t prove anything but I don’t think I have ever had a better experience bowling as I did with this. I haven’t yet succumbed to “new ball fever” but with this one I’m buying it as soon as possible.
This thing only has one color but I think this will be the best ball released this year 😉
I don’t even care about the ball reaction. I could watch Tobias bowl all day. His timing and release are so friggin good.
I wish they put the microtrax on the TDX
I'm so glad that you mentioned that the new stuff is rolling different. I'm on my 3rd phaze 2 so obviously I loved that ball, but this 3rd one has SUCKED. It's too aggressive and sharp from straight but as I go left eventually it goes from face, face, face to flat 10, flat 10.
It doesn't seem to have the same accelerstive continuation that the first 2 had. I'm finally looking at moving on from them to either the idol or the summit but I'm leaning idol right now
We just need a beefed up idol synergy because that ball was great and still is
I still have a couple I stashed, I absolutely agree
Would you carry both the Optimum and the P2 in a 5 ball + plastic arsenal? Or would you only carry both when you bring extra balls to tournaments? As you mentioned, I had the OG a ball up from my P2 and loved it. But now I’m not so sure that there’s enough separation to carry both everywhere.
I don't think so, like you said, I don't think there's enough separation, and realistically, the Optimum looks good enough that I think people can move on from the P2 now. Back when the original was out, they each had their purposes, now with how the reaction of the P2 has changed over the last couple years, I'd just get the Optimum and be done.
@@LukeRosdahl that’s what I was afraid of. What WOULD be a step up from the p2 then? While staying below larger asymmetrical stuff. Trying to find something for when the big stuff is too early but the P2 is a just clean enough to be jumpy off the end of the pattern.
@@grantpickard3825 That's a tough gap to shoot, because if the P2 is clean and jumpy, there's not a whole lot earlier or smoother you can get without going to a Gem or something. A Harsh Reality with a little shine on it might do the trick, OR if you get something like a DNA Coil and take the shine off of it. Coil shapes like a P2 but is still pretty clean and sharp, BUT if you take it down to 2000, it's going to smooth it out, but it definitely won't be as early or chuggy as anything from the Gem line for example.
@@LukeRosdahl that’s pretty much what I’ve noticed. When I hit the situation I described I just have to make a physical adjustment and not just rely on a ball. Thats an interesting thought to use a duller coil. That’s definitely something I will be looking into. Thank you for all your expertise as always!
Might be the wrong video to ask but when looking for a strong hooking ball for a stronger MPH what differential should I be looking for?
Stronger MPH? There's more that goes into it than differential of course, but definitely something north of .045, higher diff means more flare which helps the ball hook more.
Is the new Idol a step up from a Summit? Which is the stronger symmetrical option??
They're about the same on hook potential, just slightly different shapes.
Is the Idol a little quicker down the lane than the Summit? Side note...would love to see you on the left side comparing both.
How does the Pro-Mo compare to the Optimum?
Very similar ball reactions, I think the Optimum is a little stronger and earlier, same general round climbing smooth ball reaction. This would definitely be a good replacement for a Pro Mo, and possible upgrade.
Did you throw this ball? And did u polish it?
Nope, not getting one of these I don't think, I'd imagine some other people out there have done it though.
I know it's old but does anyone know anything about the storm lock?
Oh definitely, you looking for an updated or upgraded version?
@@LukeRosdahl No just got the old version from a friend and wondering how to use it there's not allot on UA-cam about it cause it's so old
It's basically a PhysiX, or very similar to the Eternity balls we have right now.
@@LukeRosdahl ok thanks
How does it compare to the Helios?
The Helios was always cleaner, sharper, and a little weaker than the original, so the same comparison still fits here.
Purple strikes and highlighter orange goes in the trash
@@rb8999Helios was great out of box and trash after it got some shine on it
