By far my favorite person to race and compete with. Hank is badass and has taught me so much on how to make the 4 rotor even faster 🤯
Every time you shift the front end dives which means you're losing speed I still think compound turbo or supercharger / turbo is the move
I worked on that considerably after we filmed all of these. I saw the same thing and got her to spool between shifts so much better.
@@RobDahm your gear ratio seems too short, why don't increase it? You're losing time shifting

Dahms rx7 is an actual definition of “wide body” not just some bolt on panels.
the crazy thing is under all of that is still the original car even after they stretched the front.

Rob Dahm is so stoked to be there and driving his project car. He's a class act in my books. Good choice, Scotto and Hoonigan team.
I mean, the mainstream tv show starring rob doesn’t hurt… been watching the 4 rotor build for years, don’t get me wrong, but hoonigan does marketing well.

Rob said it was breaking up on the top end 🤣. He should get a properly built car made by Iroz. Having a broken/breaking project car gives rob plenty of content and I’m sure that’s his goal. More content more money. Lots of people love him and his eternal project. I’m more interested in well built machines but to each their own.
I do think it’s risky lining up next to him when we’ve seen parts fly off and things get sketchy.

That TT build is sooo clean! You would never know it had 1000+ hp by just looking at it
The fact that a TT can be 1000hp+ in the first place is just crazy as fuck. Even an RS3 pushing those numbers is insane but this thing is even smaller haha.

I had a Volvo s40 w/ a 5 cyl turbo, loved the sound of that motor and it had good torque for around town driving.

@@taylorhickman84 Awesome cars! I used to have a C30 with the T5 and Getrag M66 trans. Man I love that engine. Probably not as revvy as the Audi one but sounded awesome and had massive torque.
I had the whole Elevate catalog of parts on that thing. Was pretty fast! Fun on AutoX.
@@lexus_offroad_adventures I love the C30, only reason I went with the S40 was I couldn't find a C30 with the Dynaudio stereo, best sounding stereo I have ever heard.
I miss the banter and the walk-around with the boys. It felt a lot more like a bunch of friends having fun instead of a show-show.

all I see is complaining on how Hoonigans used to do that or how it used to be, just enjoy the content, they are still racing and making fun content at the end of the day, plus you can't just keep doing the same thing over and over and over for years and years and years.

Modern Audis are an engineering masterpiece. They got the comfort, the sounds and with some "light" mods can sure scoot.

@Sean Cunningham maybe a killer boost by gear/traction control combo. I don't doubt a killer shop like that has figured a good way to maximize traction. It looked like he was just cruising that whole time

What a race. I played back race #2 at 0.25 speed and they launch at almost the exact same time. Love it when drivers are launching identical

Clearly Hank didn’t use NOS on first run but did for the others. That RX7 is insane on small turbo and no NOS.

@@robzu1010 lol I think you might have to take another listen yourself. Maybe the turbo muffled the sound a bit but a lot of people would agree that this car plus the 787b since you brought it up sound very similar to a extremely high revving(12k+rpm) inline 4/flat plane v8. Also the 20b piston equivalent would be a high revving inline 6(e.g. honda rc166) even some inline 3s are comparable for example there's a Kawasaki(don't remember the bike model) that sounds similar to the 3 rotor. So no this car doesn't have the same engine note as a furai/20b.

DCTs are pretty good, but i sure wouldn't want to custom build one for a 1000hp 4 rotor.

Honestly, the nos just makes that thing more impressive. Like, if it can hold that much power with nos that's just impressive.
Its a good thing he is a tuner because juicing your motor is really hard on it.
NOS is a brand, but we get what you mean... nitrous can be done safely, all the "nitrous bad" about it comes from a bare essentials installation trying to spray down the house.

I'd love to see a This vs Dahm/That circuit series, as a time attack style competition, with both drivers being allowed to tweak their setups between training and race. The drivers would get something like 2 training laps and 5 timed laps, where the best time counts.
