    He almost always says "the third time watching" or whatever. The hints at the amount of times he's watched what he reviews indicate he watches them. And when he doesn't finish, then he will say it or just don't mention it. He's never lied about what he's not seen 😂 he's too smart to get owned by someone who just saw something he didn't. He could never.

      Actually. The biggest part of the contro was him rating movies on big platforms like IMDB based off the first 20 minutes.
      And he even admitted the rating could be much higher if he watched, but that's just not how he does things, so he didn't care.

      @@lieutenantmoon8003 Might seem like a minor issue. And IF he was the only person doing that, then it's like. Well, whatever. But if you create a culture of this, it could have issue's within the industry. And I doubt he's the only one doing this. And what's the point of movie ratings if most of it is inaccurate. It's just kind of a very stupid thing to do. You can use whatever idiotic downplaying of other peoples feelings on the matter all you want. It's just an opinion.

    The movie Adum is talking about is "One Cut of the Dead" and it is an awesome watch. Its not spoiling it to say that you have to sit through the whole film because the first 40 minutes is purposely made in a b-movie crappy way in order to fit into the whole narrative.

    There are objective elements in movies that are good or bad if two identical films are made, one is consistent and doesn't contradict its narrative, message, tone, or characters and the other does then I can argue that the first is objectively better and I think it should be uphold above others that don't have does qualities, I think effort dedication skill and intelligence is worth praising more than others that lack does elements.

      @jimothy9943 2 роки тому +5

      You are still placing subjective value on consistency of narrative, message, tone and characters. There is no objective reason why those things are important or would be better than something that is inconsistent. The same with dedication, skill and intelligence.

      So if a story makes no sense because the writer is an idiot like Tommy Wiseau or Neil Breen, a movie still can work if a person in this world enjoys it?
      And just because something is subjective doesn't mean it's good, morals are subjective but that doesn't mean that if someone supports rape that means he should not be criticized and discouraged, we still can place objective values on subjective matters.

It is objectively true that most people find it bad and agree it should be punishable, but that does not make it objectively bad. He says the point of reviews is to get a barometer to be able to scale your own tastes against, but I think the point he’s missing is that some people may expect consistency between his reviews. Not finishing it is similar to watching a movie wasted drunk when you normally review sober. It’s good for content but I think it might be a little disrespectful to the people who made the movie. Assuming his videos are meant to be taken as comical reviews, and not just outright comedy. I can’t say what he’s doing is outright wrong, just maybe a little disrespectful in my opinion.

      This was part of my point. It’s pretty disrespectful to the moviemakers to just watch a part of their movie and then do a review on it. The worst part imo is that he rates the movies he didn’t finished. Now it doesn’t matter about whether Adum says he only watched part of the movie and that’s what the reviews reflect, a large part of his audience will only care about the score he gives the movie and base their decision on whether they watch it or not based on that score.

      Honestly Dune is just kind of a boring book that a lot of people read in their formative years and have kept a nostalgia boner for. Dont get me wrong, it's highly influential but other universes have picked it apart and made more interesting worlds from its pieces. People always think they're going to be the next lord of the rings when that was a complete once in a lifetime thing with a horror director being given free reign and infinite money to make his vision an uncompromised reality. The fusion of his style with the lotr universe made something better than the sum of its parts. That said, I didn't hate Dune. I think it is the best movie a faithful adaptation of the book could be(it left out the dinner scene which had some of the most interesting character parts, but that was the only glaring omission imo) but there just isn't much to work with in the book to begin with.
