I appreciate your analysis of the allegory in Blindness, but you missed a few major plot points. 1) Of huge importance, is the moment the doctor's wife stabs the leader of the hoodlums in the throat with a pair of scissors and kills him;. 2) the doctor's wife does not start the fire; "this woman" "a woman" "the woman" and finally "the woman with the lighter" does, and ; 3) in the very final moment, when everyone's eyesight is restored the doctor's wife looks to the sky and everything goes white. '"Now it's my turn,' she thought. Her eyes lower to the ground. The city is still there.'" After saving her "flock" the doctor's wife goes blind. This is the final moment. She is almost a Christ-like figure as far as I can tell.
