Can I say just a big thank you for this video! It has proved extremely helpful, and your clear instruction delivered in a calm non-complicated way makes easy to follow. Giving people like me (average DIYer at best) the confidence to do a good job! Many Thanks.

Just diconnect the power at the mains if you dont have multimeter or a test pen. This way can never go wrong

Oh thank you. You have saved me a few dollars. The electrician did not turn up. Only had to get at the control panel where I already had been, but didn't think to pull the oven out from the cavity.
Bingo!!! Your UA-cam how to, did it for me. Yeh I've fixed the oven control knob and found an extra screw same as the one I had found when the knob spindle had taken flight, into the shell of the oven.

Definitely helped me. I will have a new oven delivered today and needed to prepare the old one for collection( recycling). I was out of time and when I pulled the oven out I saw that the wires are connected directly to the oven . No time to call an electrician so I was panicking. Your video saved me it's all I can say 😊.

First time commenting on a video like this. Saved me hours probably (watching this as an amateur) - instead of trying to rewire my domestic electrics, used the existing cabling and rewired the new replacement oven from behind as demonstrated. Having first turned off all electrics to be on the safe side. Particularly liked the placement of wires for tightening screws and sensible advice of placing something underneath when removing our old double oven. Thank you.

Judging by your "leave no uncertainty" approach, you are a true professional. This video is most handy because I might have to do this myself the first time. Thank you for your very thorough instructions. By the way, why did you have to recheck the wiring with a multi-meter? Wouldn't the "test-pen" be good enough and safe enough for the job ?

Just a pickie point but using your extraction you "protentialy " damaged the lower facia ... I use a base unit ive modified (i got it from a kitchen fitter ripping a kithen out) within my base unit i raise the hight using additional base boards , i then slide a piece of that cheap hardboard to act as a bridge... Another trick is to use an elastic band cut it , tie one end of the elastic band the power cable about 200mm from the electrical connection on the appliance and the other end about 200 to 400mm back along the cable.this causes the electric cable to form a "U" shape and if you distance it right it stops the cable getting trapped under the appliance which could be .....dangerous

House sizes are very different in Europe. Therefore the covers are smaller. You must remember we are using a higher voltage in Europe to 220 to 240 V therefore, a 13 amp cooker only requires a 2.5 cable. Please do not use the term 'current when talking about voltage. The devices that were used in the video to check/ confirm dead were voltage measuring devices. Current only flows when a circuit is made, voltage is present when the device is live.
