Yes Tyler writes all songs in general and sings them of course hahah. but josh is crazy talented on the drums ! a great team. and a long time ago there were more members, the band was founded when they were in college and the others members left and Josh then joined I think, someone correct me If I am wrong hahah
Holding Onto You and Car Radio are still my favorite songs by them. SOOOO GOOD
Twenty one pilots are my favorite band, they are soo unique and their lyrics actually mean something if you listen to them, I 100% recommend going on the journey, starting with their album "Vessel" then comes "Blurryface" then "Trench" then "Scaled and icey" and after that, listen to their albums "Self Titled" and "Regional at best" which are their older projects, the reason I recommend those albums last is because some people don't like those two's sounds because they are kind of experimental and I don't want you to get turned off from them, when you listen to any of their songs I recommend paying attention to the words as much as the instruments as well cause they hit hard

Car radio and Holding on to you are definitely ones of the most important songs for the Clique, so you should really check them out. And l'm gonna recommand that you should check out the MV story for their 'recent' songs --> Heavydirtysoul, Jumpsuit, Nico and the Niners, Levitate, Chlorine (but you've already heard and probably saw the MV) Saturday, The Outside. All those music videos are linked and tell a story it's really amazing how creative Tyler and Josh are!

I was lucky enough to see them live in a small rock club in Ohio about a year before they signed their record deal, and it to this day is one of the most incredible things I've ever been fortunate enough to be a part of. They have the best live shows I have ever seen still and that show was almost 10 years ago. I highly recommend "Ode to Sleep" first and then "Trees Live at Fox Theater" for your next few. "Car Radio" would be a great third step once you have a feel for them too. It just might feel more meaningful once you've gotten to know them a bit more.
Ode to Sleep has a great storyline in the video that will really show you what it was like being a fan as they exploded (I got into them in 2010). I still tear up every time I see this video. It's absolutely incredible. The video is such a journey and I know you're going to love it.
Tree's live at Fox Theater will show you why being at a show is just unreal. It was their closer for so many years, and I was lucky enough to be right under Tyler holding the drum at one show (you'll see what I mean by this when you watch it). I actually still remember seeing the video of Tyler walking down the street singing tree's in Columbus, Ohio when he was still in the process of finishing this song, and every time I hear this song I get goosebumps just thinking about what an absolute genius musician Tyler is.
Anyway, love all of your reactions, and please go down the rabbit hole, get stuck into the story lines, and I'm sure you're going to be unbelievably happy you did. They're brilliant and we love them.
Also, Ode to Sleep will show you what the fans are like. During his faster rap part you'll be able to hear the crowd saying every word along with him at one point. We know every single word to every song and scream it for the whole show. It's really an insane thing to experience live.
My fav 21 Pilots, "Can't Help Falling in Love (Elvis Cover)" Keep in mind, I'm 61 who loves Barry Manilow, Billy Joel etc. My almost 30 yo son was a "screamer" (whose voice screaming and not was/is f'ing fabulous)and 21 Pilots, imo, will blow you're socks off (or heads lol)
Their songs always sound so happy, but their lyrics are always so very deep talking about religion, self-harm, or trying to end ur life. I found your channel bc of stray kids, but watching this reaction really reminded me how much i also love top. I’ve been so inmerse in being a stay now, that I’ve forgotten xD i remember the first time I saw a top video years years ago when tyler (the guy in blue) used to scream in the middle of songs, when he used to do those weird movements while performing, made me think wow these guys are crazy, I love it!!! The first song i found of them was “car radio”, not sure if you’ve heard it, but it is amazing. I saw them live in concert 2 years ago, and i cried when i heard them play it. Please react to it if you havent. :) the guy in red is Josh. And yes, it’s only two guys in this band for the most part hahah this last album they added more people and their sound sounds more full now, but on their very beginning it was only both of them doing all of it.

Btw-this song was for done for the fans who struggle with mental illness (most of their songs are) and letting them know they are not the only ones out there and Tyler and Josh see them and know their struggles. They have helped so many people who struggle with mental issues or their loved ones (I’m one of those!).
TOP creates their songs to sound 'light hearted' on the surface but they are 'deep' for those who want to dig deeper.

EASILY the best band I’ve ever seen live. Ode to sleep should definitely be next on your journey. Suggestion: When you get to songs you know(stressed out, ride, etc.) you should watch the live version instead!
I'm here mostly because of your BTS reactions but TOP are in my opinion genuinely one of the most original bands since Linkin Park back in the day, and they have so many songs that have made me weep, yell in excitement and so on. I do hope you'll go on this journey because it can be mind blowing. Their album Trench is in my opinion the best out there from the 2010s next to Hozier's albums. I'd recommend the music videos My Blood, Car Radio, The Hype, and for songs Morph, Bandito, Trees. Cheers as always for your awesome reactions, mate. ❤️

I don't know if anyone has said this yet (probably because I'm two weeks late) but ultimately this song is about how Tyler (the lead singer) has trouble sleeping at night knowing so many of their fans and just people in general are suicidal. "You all have guns, and you never put the safety on" I want to keep going but I also struggle with explaining their songs sometimes because once upon a time I was that suicidal fan so it's a bit hard haha.

First off I love your reactions and you're one of my favorite UA-cam channels. You're in a free actions are amazing and your spot on about him being one of the best in the industry. NF is a fan of twenty One pilots and twenty One pilots vice versa a fan of NF. NF has even made a reference to twenty One pilots in one of his songs. Would love to see you go down the rabbit hole of twenty One pilots, you will not be disappointed. They do not fit any standard genre of music and they are amazingly talented and all their music has a deeper meaning than about anyone out there other than NF. I have seen them live in concert at least three times and for a two member band they're unbelievable, very relatable, tons of energy, very captivating and engaging. Again I don't believe you would be disappointed in any way shape or form by going down the twenty One pilot path. Hope to sleep would be a good one, migraine, and watch some of their live performances like trees, you'll get a better perspective. Keep up the good work.

You are correct, these guys are among the best live shows out there. Their music is genre less so you will hear members of the Clique correctly say their genre is Twenty One Pilots.
Like NF they are very deep and sing about important topics that effect everyone though I do think Tyler is a better with the wordplay. Their depth also has many more layers than the lyrics. Every detail in the videos, live shows, social media post, hidden messages on their various websites, characters, colors, vocal tones, etc have specific meaning and are intentional.
The fan base (the skeleton clique) will fill you in as you go.
Just start running through the Vessel album with “Ode to Sleep” next. Then “Car Radio” and “Migraine”. Then let the clique guide you from there.

Genuinely, each song on their own are incredible, but as full albums; wow, I finally understood how that in itself could be part of the art. Seriously, even in your own time, I highly, highly recommend devouring them album by album, in order. I've been a fan now since Blurryface album came out, and I still have not tired of listening to them, they are just so enchanting - I'm so excited for you for you to go on this journey! xP
(also, once you get to Scaled & Icy, the most recent album, the whole thing sounds like it could be adapted for a musical theatre performance, imo :p)

Ode to Sleep or Car Radio would be great tracks to check out next. not only are the switch ups and musicallity of the songs great but the lyrics are incredibly thoughtful and honest and positive. not sure if you picked up on the lyrics of this one but it was a song tyler write after lots of fans shared with him about their struggles with self harm and suicide, he finds it hard to sleep knowing how many of their fans are struggling with these things, he acknowledges those feelings are real and encourages them to use this music to fight against those thoughts and desires instead of hurting themselves 'fused at the wrist i simply tell them they should shoot at this, simply suggest my chest and this confused music, it's obviously best for them to turn their guns into a fist!'
Subscribed for more twenty one pilots!! I think if you looked up the meaning of this song it would blow you away too. Highly recommend that you check out their official music video for Ode to Sleep. It is from the same album as this song, Vessel, and has some good background on the band and plenty of live show footage. You thought this was all over the place musically, just wait 🤪

As good as the beats are, listen to the lyrics too. Always deep. Always meaningful. They all tell a story. Having them in front of you for some of their songs helps a lot.

They do a lot of songs on mental health and once you really get into them you'll discover a backstory to their music - this song was made after they found out some of their younger fans were having suicidal thoughts

They are beyond talent..I recommend ode to sleep, car radio, migraine, holding onto you from older years (and more). They are also sooo good live (Trees is a great one and their fav to do live). It is a biiiig rabbithole and a deep dive needed if you plan on following the meanings and storylines. Just as good to only enjoy the tunes..keep an eye out for that piano, it gets around..
Neon Gravestones, Heavydirtysoul and doubt are probably some of my favorites. I love this band so much and I love the messages that they put in their music

Oh my, I've actually wanted to recommend these guys to you for a while! They are so talented, they're Christians and don't swear, similar to NF, and they are all about mental health and being truthful about it. I'd recommend watching them perform Trees live at Fox Theatre, if you're interested, or else their songs Car Radio, Ode to Sleep and Migraine (they are older but still really good). One that hits hard is Neon Gravestones.

Oh My God you have no idea how happy it makes me seeing you react to these guys... i actually thought about suggesting them to you just the other day. BTS and these guys are it for me. I find it so weirdly strange how they are so so adversely different to each other but at the same time so very similar in what they stand for and the messages they bring. Like BTS you never quite know what your going to get or where they are going to take you because nothing they do sounds like anything they have done before. One thing guaranteed its always a roller coaster ride and its always incredible. There songs are just genius. Insanely talented and absolutely incredible live. These guys are special. Lol ive not even watched your reaction yet and im already so happy happy happy lol 💜

Oh and yes the singer does do everything himself and this song he wrote after several fans came up to them after shows telling him about how they were suicidal and harming themselves. He has struggled with both suicidal thoughts and self harm so after hearing about these things he literally could not sleep because he could not stop thinking about the fans he loves so so deeply hurting themselves and committing suicide or attempting to. When he says I know you all have guns and you never put the safety on you'll notice before he goes to those lyrics he says I know I know ow ow what that means. He's explaining that he knows we all have guns and we never put the safety on because he does the same thing. The rap part says we turned our hands to guns trading our thumbs for ammunition I must forwarn you of my disorder of my condition cuz when the sets it upsets Tyler uses night and day a lot explaining that the nights are when he struggles the most with his mental illness because he's alone in the dark silence and that allows his mind to start the you are worthless you're nothing but a burden do everyone a favor and just end your life because you're life is worthless any way. I explained it in those words because those are the words he's used you notice right before he says the solution is I see a whole world of these mutant kid's fused at the wrist they simply tell them they should shoot at this may I suggest my chest or this confused music meaning it sounds really happy but the lyrics are really really dark that's another common thread in his writing as well but he says may I suggest my chest or this confused music basically telling his fans that want to harm themselves throw that pain at his chest he will take it from you if you listen to his music he will help you find your way out of that place where you want to die which is why the rap ends with Tyler saying it's obviously best for them to turn their guns and he puts his hand to his head in the way you do when you put a gun up to your head to commit suicide and he says it's obviously best for them to turn their guns into fist and he changes his hand from that gun representation into a fist representing to fight not give in and die. Also right at the beginning of the rap he emulates putting a gun up to his head and he says interested in putting my fingers to my head now Remember in this song your hands represent a way to end your life. He's saying that at night is when he starts struggling with that urge to either cut well self harm or commit suicide. Tyler Joseph saved my life and thousands of others lives to because he is willing to put all of it out and be incredibly vulnerable being so open about the fact that there are times when he wants to give in to the voices in his head telling him to just take himself out and it is such a brave thing to do because when you become that vulnerable you open up the probability that people will turn around and destroy you with the things that you admit you're struggling with. They turn around and use that knowledge to break you

Ok now.... you have hit all three of my fandoms. BTS is #1 of course, but then Twenty One Pilots is #2, and PTX is #3. I am in heaven here. Their song Lane Boy discusses how they refuse to "stay in their lane" as decided for them by the music industry. I had the pleasure of seeing them live for the Emotional Roadshow tour and the Trench tour. Before I discovered BTS, TOP were the best concerts I had ever seen. They are interactive and just excellent.

Which some people usually find weird, but to me they are both very similar. In theme mostly, like what they choose to talk about. And both bands really are unique and surprise you with their variety and how much they experiment in their songs.
I grew up listening to this band throughout middle school and they've reached me through the pattern they have: fun and energetic beats with deep and sad song lyrics. It's really a unique sound that they pull off exceptionally well and it works so well for them.
And yes! Tyler Joseph, the lead singer, he writes practically everything. He's done that for years though. He's a lyricist, composer, and producer for the band and they also have producers that work with them too. But the lyrics have traditionally been all his.
I hope you continue to listen and react to them!! They have a lot to bring to the table with old and new songs and I believe they will surprise you. I recommend anything off of their album Trench because that is my favorite album of theirs!!
Btw just so you're aware if you continue this journey they have had a storyline/universe and theme going on for a long long time. The theme and subject matter starts from the release of their album Blurryface and a universe was created throughout their following album Trench years later. It's still going on so some music videos might be difficult to understand. I'm not saying you should go down that rabbit hole because it's a difficult one and you're new but I wanted to give you the heads up.
I dived into the twenty one pilots rabbit hole around 2016/17 and done the same with BTS in 2020. Love both bands equally and both are my favourite bands. Having seeing twenty one pilots live they are amazing. Words can't describe how good they are. Vessel and trench albums I highly recommend
Just an FYI, in it's infinite fucking wisdom, UA-cam undub'd me from your channel. Resub'd. Have you heard "Car Radio" ? The singer suffers from anxiety and depression, his lyrics express this though sometimes hidden under a double entendre. If you have not went down this rabbit hole you should. Between the mental health lyrics and the amazing drums they should be right up your alley. "Car Radio" is a hit. "Ride" had mental illness undertones I'm thinking you missed. Might want to revisit that song. That song basically conveys the same msge Bill Hicks famous bit "It's Just A Ride".
Normally someone comments a copy and paste of a good journey through their career, naming the best order to listen to their music (subjective of course).
A brief run down is probably Ode to Sleep, Car Radio, Trees, heavydirtysoul, jumpsuit, Nico and the Niners and Levitate is a good start.

OMG I wasn't expecting this, they have literally SO MUCH MUSIC. I've been a fan since this album (Vessel). They talk a lot about mental health in their music and the struggle between the mind and self. I saw them during the Trench era in concert and it was amazing! I cried haha during Leave the City and I have the confetti in a mason jar on my desk. They were my first guide to understanding my mental struggle before BTS became my journey to self love. Holding On to You and Semi-Automatic are also from this era so maybe you'd like those too! From the first Twenty One Pilots album to Scaled and Icy, you can really see how much they have grown in dealing with their own mental health and off the cliff of insanity.
