Correct. It first showed up on his mix tape No Phun intended, which was his solo project in high school. It made a reappearance on Regional at Best as an official TOP song, and then officially on Vessel. Its a tradition to end the show with this song, and my god it does amazing things for your soul to hear it live.
I knew he was great when I went to see him live but I got so scared when the opening band came on and I couldn’t understand a word they were saying and honestly the difference between them and other bands is unbelievable
OG Aparicio honestly like I’ve been to other concerts from other bands and going to go see twenty one pilots was so different and amazing like even my mom liked it and she didn’t like any others
vanessa c. This was my first “real” concert I guess you could say. First one of a band I actually cared about. Not only did I go alone but I was worried because I got General admission tickets and I know how crazy this fan base is with camping 😂. Luckily it was an amazing show although I couldn’t enjoy it with a friend and the venue didn’t allow camping but gave us wristbands with numbers and we got to go on with the rest of our day until the show started and we had to be back at a certain time and in the order of the wristbands. 10/10 would do again. And again. And hopefully every other time they come to my state
@Josh Harmer I actually consider myself a pretty good singer (been doing organized music like choir for 17 years) but his range is just naturally beyond mine, and I can tell his technique is fantastic even with his non-traditional style, which makes me all the more impressed by him
Whenever I go to their concerts, I only feel two things: 1. I just want to curl up in a ball and cry my eyes out; 2. I wanna crazy rave at the moshpit with my friends like were summoning some demons
I so love the moments when he stops singing and let's the audience take it. At the end of Car Radio after he finishes the song from the platform and while he's walking back to the stage, the whole crowd repeats the "oh, oh oh oh oh" part and holds up the yellow lights. I've seen everyone from Elton John/Billy Joel to Dave Matthews, Pearl Jam, on and on. I have seen TOP now twice and both shows blew everything away I have seen prior or since. Highly recommended!! During their Emotional Roadshow tour, they would get inside a huge inflatable ball and run across the crowd...sick!
Same! My first was Weird Al at an amusement park in the the late 80's lol. I've traveled across the country to see a few of my favorites. Drove 5 1/2 hours to see someone and couldn't afford a hotel room so drove back home. Well I only recently discovered these guys, mostly because I don't listen to much mainstream music on the radio. I've never had a favorite band, I do now. First time I saw them I had missed them in my home state, so drove 8 hours into Canada. It was a spiritual experience. Then thankfully they extended the tour and saw them at home. Now, my lovely mother has agreed to make the majority of my Christmas present early and paid for a ticket to see them in Chicago. Which is 8 hours away. Next Friday can't come soon enough!
Best Live Show! These two are music Gods! Lyrical geniuses! They love us just as much as we love them. Its why we sit in the rain and in the cold for three days before a show!
Reel Bear Media is MarK Eshleman, who, back in 2011, moved in with Tyler and a few other guys. Ty and Josh couldn’t pay him, so they gave him free room and board in exchange for video work at their concerts. He’s responsible for the MVs for Stressed Out, Ride, Guns For Hands, Ode To Sleep, Chlorine, all of their behind the scenes and tour vids. He’s considered by many to be the third member of TØP.
I just saw them live in San Diego and it was the best show I’ve ever been to! Trees was AMAZING! Edit: they play this song to end each concert and have done so for years now
DUDE I agreed with almost every word you said. I cry out of happiness for Tyler and Josh because this performance was their catapult into greatness and it's also such a personal song. And how the hell tyler has talent like this to literally have 2 brains or something to do so much at once. I've never heard him miss more than 2 notes in his career. Unheard of.
I've been to three Twenty One Pilots concerts (Emotional Roadshow in Sunrise, Bandito Tour in Nashville, and Bandito Tour in Orlando) and every single time, this song has made me cry
This song live alone will change you, and its one of the best concert experiences ever. I say this having seen this song live three times this year. Once will never be enough, and you'll be hooked.
They're playing 3 more times this year, then who knows how long it will be other than festivals in Europe. I said we should all pitch in so he can go see them!
It’s like a drug istg,, I’ve been twice before, once in 2019 and one last year (2021), and now I’m going this August!! The big difference is that I’m gonna be on the floor this time! Last two times were up in the balcony.
it’s proven your favorite song usually is connected to an emotional memory and this song is that exactly. this song live will effect you forever and you will see it differently forever and you will love it.
Ok third fam...who would be willing to donate to get this guy to one of the last shows until who knows when? Saturday and Sunday are going to be shorter shows and acoustic. Next Friday in Chicago might be a full set because it's just them and one opener.
Their live performances are the reason I'm always broke, because they are EXACTLY like this every song, every show, every venue. I'd recommend Fall Away Live ft. Dr.Blum (the video from 6 years ago)
My mom usually limits Christmas gift totals for each person to $150 max, doesn't usually spend it all on one thing. I told her how much their music has been helping my mental health...I'm getting my big ($145) Christmas gift 10 days early! She said well come up with a few cheaper things so you at least have stuff under the tree to open 😆
I love when you can hear the atmosphere through the screen. Watching it makes me feel like I’m back there listening to it live even though it was a different performance.
I've been lucky enough to see them three times over the years - being there for the small venues years ago to their bigger venues now - and hearing this song always gives me chills. It's the last song they play at shows and I think that's why a lot of people have such a strong emotional reaction to it ((at least why I do!)) Thanks for reacting to it - I always appreciate how genuine and well-rounded your reactions are! :)
I saw them twice this year at arenas. Seeing them next week at a 5000 capacity venue. Not that small, but still, less than half the size of the others.
Kat Storm what’s so dope about them is how their small venue shows somehow feel the same as huge shows-- they give the same energy, the same dedication no matter how big their audience!! hope you have a great time!! |-/
Their concerts are amazing. Tears flow and your emotions go all over the place. Had the privilege to see them twice this year in Stockholm and Berlin. Amazing experience... I recommend.
They're playing 3 more times this year, then who knows how long it will be other than festivals in Europe. I said we should all pitch in so he can go see them!
I saw this live last year and I cried like a baby. this song truly captures a part of my heart in a way no other song does. The build, the repetition, the heart in the lyrics. I truly sobbed and felt at peace seeing them perform this live.
AMAZING!! I have always enjoyed 21 pilots music , back in the day I honestly didn't pay close attention to lyrics like I do as I have gotten older. Love how songs can be read in different ways, I guess that why they connect with so many people.
I've listened to lyrics a long time, and though I don't know what the song writer actually meant, I'm always like why is every song about me because there's something in there I can relate to.
I went to their show in Vienna this year and after the show ended i just fell to my knees, and i stayed like that for like 5 minutes i was so tired, i løve them || - // stay alive
Saw them at Not So Silent Night in San Jose and they didn’t end with Trees, I was so heart broken :( . Saw them at their headlining tour in November though so I can’t be the most disappointed, show was amazzzzzing
They're playing 3 more shows in the states this year. The first two are shorter acoustic sets, don't know about the third. I said we should all chip in and donate so he can go!
@@katstorm13 I know! I tried getting tickets to their Acoustic set on Dec 8th, but it sold out way too fast, and the tickets were more expensive than the Bandito tour. Probably because KROQ was selling them.
Picture it like this: Tyler wrote this song when he was in high school and now EVERY single night on tour it's played at the end of the set in front of thousands of people. Tyler was just a guy battling his own stuff in his bedroom with the hopes of one day being heard. That's character development and I couldn't be more proud of him.
Bro...your face when they started bringing out the platforms for the crowd to hold is priceless 🤣🤣... btw hows your brother doing🤔 my prayers are with you guys.🙏
They end every concert with trees. My friend told me he was at a concert where they didnt play trres but they walked off stage so all the new fans left, and about 10 mins later when half the stadium was gone they came back out for trees and he got to move in way closer. After I saw them live for the first time, every time I heard Trees for the next two weeks after that I cried cause it brought me right back
Great reaction, as always. Seen them 3 times in concert (first with 500 people and the third with 20k+ crowd) and they close with this song every time. It makes you enjoy the song, even more, when you listen to it on Vessel after seeing them perform it live.
I got to see tøp June 28th...5 months ago and when trees played and Tyler was giving his speech I was crying so bad and just trying to enjoy the moment but I love this song so much this song really touches me and it means a lot to me ❤️ but when Tyler started singing I was sobbing at that point and just singing and so happy I was just living in the moment and that was a night to never forget.... And the confetti falling was so beautiful I had the biggest smile on my face....I never felt so alive during that show and I hope I get to see them again and thank them. I miss that night so much 😭💛❤️ I was also close into holding Tyler but I was like 3 or 4 rows away from him😭
You're killing me!!! It makes me feel proud of them. 💛 Cannot find any other band or singer with their feeling or maybe it's because I feel understood with their music. 🥰 My biggest dream it's seeing them live and feel what they feel when they give the heart on stage 💛
I’ve seen them live in concert once, and this moment will be one that I will remember for the rest of my life. The think I remember most is that, everything stripped away, what I felt most was connection. Unity. I was apart of something so much bigger than myself. Everyone in that auditorium was united in one emotion, one movement, and nothing else mattered than that connection. I would give anything to be back in that moment again. Thank you for reacting to this and bringing me back to that feeling. Made my day.
I'm so happy that this channel was recommended to me! I'd like to think that I watch a fair amount of reaction videos, but until I saw one from this channel, I'd not come across anyone who took the time to really appreciate lyrics, besides just surface level. It's really refreshing, for me anyways, and one reason why I literally stopped the very first video I viewed on this channel to sub. Keep up the great videos, I truly enjoy your insights.
reel bear media is one of their best friend from their hometown who has been with them since the very beginning and edits and shoots most if not all of their stuff. his name’s mark and hes badass. also you NEED to see them live their entire set is insane
I'm finally seiing them at a festival next summer, and I've waited for this moment for almost 3 years. I'm ready to cry my eyes out and meet all of my fellow clikkies frens that I've made on this journey :)
@@katstorm13 ahhh I'm going to see them in Arras on the 5th of July in France so I guess it's the one you're talking about as it is their only date in France in 2020 I CAN'T WAIT Clikkies are going to invade the festival aah
@@itsblanche8209 awesome yes that's my birthday! I'm seeing them next Friday! They're doing 3 shows in the states where radio stations do 'Christmas' concerts, the band play their own music though. The first 2 they're playing with a bunch of other bands one night and they're acoustic. The night I see them is just them and one opener, so not sure if it's a whole set or not.
Thank you for doing another one of my requests! I saw this video before I saw them live and it blew me away! I have been lucky enough to see Twenty One Pilots 3 times (all this year which is crazy). They end every show with Trees and they always go in the crowd at the end to drum. The fans know it and wait for it. It's so amazing live and this video catches the feelings so well. Great reaction. Love you fam!
Never thought about the negative space thing... I mean I've always saw it as a cross. I appreciate you doing these reactions. It's like I'm refreshing why I adore them so much!!! And I'm glad your becoming a fan. I hope you go to a show when they go back on tour. I've got to see them 4 times and I love the shows all the same. ♡♡♡
I always said I'd never get a pop culture tattoo. The next tattoo I'm planning is a lake scene with water lilies, sunfish etc. If I can fit the wooded shoreline in the background, and just put the word Hello in the trees.
Seeing Twenty One Pilots live is honestly a life changing experience. It’s an emotional rollercoaster and completely unforgettable. I’ll never forget when I saw them. When I saw them it wasn’t an encore song.
My teen daughters are big into TOP and I was all like yeah, they’ve got some good music. Then we went to a concert and now I’m like a fan girl. Lol! But Tyler has twitchy movements because he gets so emotional. Josh is just super hot and an amazing drummer! 😊
yo man you are legit the best reaction chanel out there imo! you are the only one that actually analises and understand the decisions behind things, like rimepatterns or camera work, keep it up man i love it, you really give me a reason to watch these videos again haha. :)
Well, they're taking out the whole drum set soooooo... Watch more of them live. Also Trees is always so emotional. It's such a ride of sadness and then hope and gratitude to still be alive and expierence this
I’m so stoked you’re getting into TOP. I took my kids to a concert....thinking we would all enjoy it. Little did I know...I would be blown away. Now I’m a twenty one pilots fool. Saw two Trench shows this year....and I will be seeing them again if they’re anywhere near home. I’ve already promised the fam. You MUST see them live. It’s an experience. They do earn their money and your respect. This reaction just got me all hyped up again. I clicked so fast!
I've been to one Twenty One Pilots concert, and I was in the nosebleeds, all the way to the side. Trees live was still one of the most emotional musical experiences I've ever had. And for the record, if you didn't know they end every set they do (at least on tours) with this song.
In trees there were like little explosions in the screen in the concert I went and it's so amazing bc something so little and simple like that gets stuck with you when it's such a good concert. Everytime i listen to trees now I just remember those little fireworks and it's amazing I love them❤❤
I was so surprised when I saw them in October I'm like wow! Those are actual fireworks shooting sideways off the stage. I wondered how they did it, like nets to catch them as they slowed down?
As someone who saw them live last year in their Trench tour, Trees was easily the most touching thing. Everyone sings, it's a reoccurring thing at the end of their concerts. And yeah, it's emotional. The whole concert is so immersive, and Trees is just so much more. Especially with the crowd interaction. I was at the concert that was on Josh's birthday, the Birmingham, Alabama one last year in like.. June? There was a whole thing about Today is the Anniversary/birthday/etc of *insert famous movie/person* and it ended with something like "and the Anniversary of Fast and the Furious" nothing about Josh, the crowd died laughing. Near the end, before Trees, Tyler said "and now to play the worst song in existence" and we all sang Happy Birthday before the Pre-Trees monologue happened. Honestly, the Best thing I've witnessed and I want to go to the next concert in my area. Also, Morph and Ride Live is a whole experience as well. They do the drum crowd surfing.
I went to their concert in June 2019 and I was in tears or on the verge the entire time. When trees hit, the energy in there was beyond belief and I just let it flow. I can’t wait to take my son next time they come through.
I`ve been to concert of them in Stuttgart/ Germany and it was the most amazing experience i ever had. Since then I am totally obsessed with those guys. It´s a huge party full of goose bumps and I love it!
For real, you are so spot on with you reactions on 21 pilots. I had no idea who these guys were, and then I saw them live. It literally changed my life. I'm subscribing to you because you understand the music, the lyrics. Respect
Ive been on a binge, watching your channel and was so happy to see this. I was at this show in Oakland and the feeling was unreal, being so up close to tyler and being below joshs drum set, and them crying on stage after the show was over. Ive seen them 5 times back when i was big fans of them in high school, and they always ended it with this song. its the best finale to a show ive ever seen. I don’t listen as much anymore because I grew out of the pain i had inside. They helped me out all throughout high school back when i had crazy anxiety and insecurities. and now at 22, i couldn’t be any happier. Thanks for this video man i was reminded just how much they saved me.
Having experienced this song live 3 times, I can say that it does hit me every single time and it’s such an amazing time. It’s such an amazing experience and it reminds you that you are alive and that music is one thing that can connect you to many other people
Dude I subscribe you because of this video. That part where they drum on crowd always give me goosebumps. I'm from Malaysia and hope I can go to their live show someday
It’s AMAZING being there in person. I was recently at the Baltimore show and a week later at the Minneapolis show. Did someone comment this has been the show closer forever? Since before Josh even? There’s a pic out there of JOSH holding the drum up before he was a top member. Swoon.
Please react to "Truce" by Twenty one pilots 🙏 You are so incredibly good at breaking down songs and explaining how filming, sound and image sequences work. Longing for the next TØP review ❤️ A big thank you 💎
This was the last song of the night when I saw them in October in Cincinnati, and I have to say it was the most beautiful, amazing, incredible experience I've ever had. The entire crowd singing as one throughout the entire show was a spiritual experience in itself. What's most impressive to me is that Tyler wrote this at 17, they're both amazing! I'm still all hyped up, lol. Stay alive Fren💛
They close their concerts with ‘Trees’ and it’s magic! And tears do get shed at every concert... It’s true, they bring a plethora of emotions with this song and performance. Considering Tyler has a Christian background, I don’t doubt he’s doing a faith plug in. But yes, it can be deciphered in any which way for each individual who may be going through anything. Hands down they are the best I’ve seen and I’ve seen MANY concerts. These guys are great musicians, performers, artists. I can’t wait for what will come after their break. I know it will be that much deeper after Tyler becomes a dad. Thanks for the Reaction to this specific one. 🤩
Yep. I'm personally not a Christian, my 'person' I'm scared to say hello to is the healthy side of my mental health. I know eventually it will be better if I go back to therapy, but I also know the journey through that is painful and hard work.
Kat Storm Just the fact that you’re in touch with where you are speaks volumes about that healthy side. Listen, Christian or not, I believe God touches and heals the hearts of those who hurt (no offense to your belief). You have no idea how many of us have our own demons to fight, yet healing is only a couple of thoughts and/or prayers away. Therapy is great but still just another avenue, don’t discard the power of love, your mind, and the positive influences around you. Hoping you find peace and serenity with all the things you may have to fight through. 😉
At all 3 shows I've gone to, Trees has a spiritually cleansing feeling during and after. I will forever go to experience Trees. That's a feeling that is worth it.
I'm cryingggg for real😭 You HAVE to see them live.. They still performing in some festivals this december.. you should check it out, will not regret it😭😭
Yes! I said we should all chip in and donate so he can go! The first two this weekend are shorter and acoustic as there are a bunch of other bands playing the same night. Next Friday in Chicago it's just them and one opener so will hopefully be a whole set
@@katstorm13 yeah I was thinking about the Chicago one... Sure he doesnt want to miss it but I think that in order to understand it, he needs to react to the trilogy of Trench first
@@keepyourbliss my mom usually limits Christmas gifts for each person to about $100-$150 and doesn't usually want to spend it all on one thing. I explained how much they have been improving my mental health...and now I'm driving 8 hours next week to Chicago!

:( you didn’t hear the best part. “we’re twenty one pilots and so are you!”. but still a great reaction. love watching your videos, keep up the great work
"it's not the whole drum set" oh trust me, they got a whole drum set out on the crowd for another song. I am so lucky to have seen this band perform live 3 times and see them perform this song all 3 times. And each time, I have cried but it really is different seeing them in person and experiencing this in person. I love them.

They play trees at the end of every concert. It is amazing and beautiful and when the confetti comes out you feel like you are in a dream 🥺
Can we also take a second to appreciate Josh Dun...he is an absolute beast on the drums!!!
She said well come up with a few cheaper things so you at least have stuff under the tree to open 😆
i want to see them live too 😭 everyone who does says that it feels like home
Kat Storm
what’s so dope about them is how their small venue shows somehow feel the same as huge shows-- they give the same energy, the same dedication no matter how big their audience!! hope you have a great time!! |-/
Just saw them live at the MGM and this was the last song. We all participated. What an insane memory that I will never forget.
Trees has been my alarm for years and years and is still one of my favorite songs of all time
Their concerts are amazing.
@@katstorm13 who knows when will they be ready for another tour... I have to start save up now, because travel costs too.😂
@@zeltins1001 well... they're playing France, Ireland and Madrid next year, so... definitely would need to save up!
@@katstorm13 true. Hopefully I'll get to see them again next year.😊
I saw this live last year and I cried like a baby. this song truly captures a part of my heart in a way no other song does. The build, the repetition, the heart in the lyrics. I truly sobbed and felt at peace seeing them perform this live.
He does bring the whole set out. Also, this song is AMAZING live. I cried when it happened, it really does play with your emotions!
We’re twenty one pilots and so are you
We are the casualties of broken parts.
This track was their encore when I've seen them. It's such a warm collective blanket over the audience.
Also he’s taking to God in this song
This song made me cry at the end of concert!! Beautifully simplistic. Dope song. God I love these guys lol.
Love how you breakdown all aspects of songs and videos....your appreciation for multiple pieces of songs is amazing!
This song live from their recent Bandito tour is even bigger & better. Saw it twice. So incredible. You should see them live and react to that!
@@serenacoulombe8416 the cheapest tickets for it on StubHub are $63...that doesn't include the crazy high fees though. They are over 30% of the price!
@@serenacoulombe8416 also there are a bunch of other bands playing with them. I don't really listen to the radio but I've heard of many of them
Yes.. Agree 100%. You will be an instant addict when you see them live if you are not already
this guy doesnt just write, rap, sing and scream, and play multiple instruments. hes also great at all of it
Picture it like this: Tyler wrote this song when he was in high school and now EVERY single night on tour it's played at the end of the set in front of thousands of people.
I saw it live... but I still have goose bumps when I watch it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve seen them twice. Phenomenal live show!
8:18 as someone that has seen this song live twice it’s just aggressive crying at that point and it’s not just you but every single one around you
I'm so happy that this channel was recommended to me!
I agree wholeheartedly
Same exact reaction to his reaction here
reel bear media is one of their best friend from their hometown who has been with them since the very beginning and edits and shoots most if not all of their stuff. his name’s mark and hes badass. also you NEED to see them live their entire set is insane
I'm finally seiing them at a festival next summer, and I've waited for this moment for almost 3 years. I'm ready to cry my eyes out and meet all of my fellow clikkies frens that I've made on this journey :)
Which one? They play on my birthday in France
@@katstorm13 ahhh I'm going to see them in Arras on the 5th of July in France so I guess it's the one you're talking about as it is their only date in France in 2020
I CAN'T WAIT
Clikkies are going to invade the festival aah
@@itsblanche8209 awesome yes that's my birthday! I'm seeing them next Friday! They're doing 3 shows in the states where radio stations do 'Christmas' concerts, the band play their own music though. The first 2 they're playing with a bunch of other bands one night and they're acoustic. The night I see them is just them and one opener, so not sure if it's a whole set or not.
@@katstorm13 omg that's great enjoyyy :)
Love you fam!
and I love seeing the pretty puppers at the beginning!
Seeing them next Friday for the third time this year! So excited!
You will have a blast!
I wondered how they did it, like nets to catch them as they slowed down?
experiencing this song live is a feeling you can never duplicate
Love your reaction, seeing them live is what got me hooked!
Heard this song for the first time live & it hit so hard I cried. A forever favourite!
I'm from Malaysia and hope I can go to their live show someday
if you want to see them bring a whole drum set on the crowd, watch a live version of morph or ride
It’s AMAZING being there in person. I was recently at the Baltimore show and a week later at the Minneapolis show. Did someone comment this has been the show closer forever? Since before Josh even? There’s a pic out there of JOSH holding the drum up before he was a top member. Swoon.
NF is releasing a new music video today called "Paid my dues" its gonna be up in about an hour if you wanna check it out
First!? No, second 😊 I love "Trees" 😍 Love and light from Sweden 🇸🇪
Trees is an out body experience live. I’ve seen them live 4 times and I cry every single time during trees. I can’t help myseld
THEY ARE SO AWESOME LIVE
Please react to "Truce" by Twenty one pilots 🙏 You are so incredibly good at breaking down songs and explaining how filming, sound and image sequences work. Longing for the next TØP review ❤️ A big thank you 💎
It's a shorter song...he could do the video and then a live sing along.
@@katstorm13Good idea 👍
My absolute favorite 21 pilots song! This live version is amazing, the only thing it's missing is the amazing screams by Tyler at the end
This song is about him talking to God, just like many other songs they make :)
Yup
I love watching these guys live. Tyler climbs all over everything. So much energy
