      Nigeria is a relatively close economy. Up to know (and up to local government too), goods are traded on a global scale. Only few countries in Africa (ex:Egypt, South Africa,...)can consistently satisfy Nigeria's demand. Nigeria favors importing and/or exporting a lot from few sources, rather than little from different ones. It's impact on Africa itself is comparable to India on South-Eastern Asia, despite Nigeria being Africa 1st economy.

    • @jean-lucturquin6557
      @jean-lucturquin6557 3 роки тому

      Lagos' economy alone worth as much as 3-to 5 West African nations. Nigeria has (too) often used Embargo-methods on other African countries for their own financial benefits or to impose trade policies satisfying their conditions.

In the plan, there are supposed to be Africa's tallest buildings in it. I hope we would have them on it

    Luanda Angola build a tall skyscraper every year.

    • @skeletorsnan8161
      @skeletorsnan8161 2 роки тому +1

      the main reason for it being slow is simple. this is not just them building skyscrapers.
      they literally have to build the ground the skyscrapers are on, install horizontal infrastructure such as plumbing, electricity, etc, wait a significant amount of time (because you cannot just build on the land the minute after it is reclaimed from the ocean), and then wait on private developers to start building their projects.

    • @skeletorsnan8161
      @skeletorsnan8161 2 роки тому +1

      @@WillieFungo excuses?… this is literally how the construction works. The palm jumeirah took over 6 years to build, and it is significantly smaller and is dominated by single family homes. Eko Atlantic which is over 4 times the size of the Palm Jumeirah and is more or less the size of Manhattan is bound to take significantly longer. Of course remember this is a place set for skyscrapers with the possibility of a mega tall. Eko Atlantic is not nearly as “slow” as you think if you know about this type of construction.

      No it's not. This is a land reclamation project, such projects never get completed bu other countries because of such projects are way too expensive. To top it off, it is also a private project which means it needs people to buy land and build (investors), which takes time. Eko Atlantic is a one of a kind city in the world, which other city in the world can boast about coming from the ocean? I'm actually surprised that the project is still moving, since most land reclamation projects always fail (the palm island in Dubai for example). Eko Atlantic is doing great.

      Dubai may not be the paradise that everyone thinks it's. The whole place is run on foreign workers and their expertise and its ruler Sheikh Maktoum has just settled in London, the UK's most expensive divorce settlement ever at over £500m. What was exposed in court revealed the sheikh to be a rather nasty piece of work. The judge ruled the he has to pay millions for his ex wife's and their children's security because their lives could be in danger-from him! She fled to London with her children to seek asylum from him, having already kidnapped two of his own daughters who decided to flee abroad because of him; their fate is unknown at this point.
