I always appreciate videos like these. There are countless videos I've been able to watch that gave me a new perspective on something I already thought I knew. Like in this one the adding more oil after running the engine a bit is a great tip, I hadn't thought to do it that way. It makes complete sense and I really can't believe I hadn't thought of it before. Thanks!
I'm never sure should I make them as there are so many out there :) Well glad I could add to your arsenal of knowledge :D It's purely to fill up the filter more than anything else really :) Not at all thanks or watching man :)
You are one of my dinnertime channels. UA-cam is habit forming. Another good set of instructions. Well done. Yes it is a bike I would consider as it ticks the boxes the Triple does not lol.
Well, I am proud of that title :) Thanks! To be honest as much as I love every new bike I ride....there's a reason the one I bought is the CBF...that sensible bit of me that's buried deep :D
Nice job on the oil change mate. That’s cool that the oil is red. I’ve seen too many people over tighten oil filters and have turn into a nightmare later on.
I'll have my bike's first oil change to do soon, but I'll need 4-liters of oil (4.3-quarts). And I have two drain plugs, and a dipstick to check the level. Actually, this time around, I'm going to have Honda do the first oil change so they can do the other inspections and adjustments under warranty. After that one, I'm on my own! And, it's always interesting to see how Honda does things, and it was nice to see they kept it easy for the CBF1000. :)
4 litres is a tasty amount, what's the service interval with that much? I personally prefer dipsticks and multiple drains....I find they work better :) Ah yes that is indeed a good plan :) I'll get something new enough to have a warranty eventually :D Yeah they sometimes make things over engineered and painful. my favourite bike to work on is still my GSXR :)
I'll be doing mine soon mate. I will come back and revisisit when it is time. When I get it back from the garage. Bloody battery and rectifier have gone to bike heaven.
Spark plugs Spark Plugs Spark plugs. Ive looked at doing it myself a few times but just not sure. Would be great if you could do a vid on changing them. Keep up the great videos. My CBF is the twin brother of yours.
Haha I'm actually planning on doing them soon :) So give me a month and there should be a video done hopefully :) I will certainly try! Ahhh you have great taste :)
Good question.... why am I still here. I dunno man I just like your video style and I would own a cbf1000 any day of the week!!! Favorite line was something along “you can use a torque wrench, but I don’t have one handy, so I won’t” hahah. Take care man.
Perfect. I was going to ask which filter you used and then you told me anyway. I'm going to go for the Motul 5000 semi synthetic as it's a good amount less then the 7100. I was going to wait for the tyres to need changing and get everything done at the same time, but the Bridgestone BT021s I have are wearing so well, I'm doing the oil myself. The bikes done just over 3000 miles since I bought it last year and the tyres are only half worn and gripping better now they've had some proper use. Thanks for this video..👍 😁
Haha happy to help :) Look pretty much any oil will be grand once you change it often enough, only reason I use the fully synth is cus I like to ride the bike in a more spirited manner a lot :D Ah it's always great to find a tyre that just suits you and the bike, that was me and Dunlop Roadsmart 2s on my old Fazer :) Thanks for watching!
@@TheGorillaBiker LiquiMoly is great stuff as well. definately give 300V a go you will be impressed. costs around $20AUD more in Aus but damn nice. Ill be looking at just a premium mineral for the bucket of bolts next time to see if it helps the clutch
Thanks for another great video! If you can, could you do a video of basic maintenance (cleaning chains, changing sparks, break pads etc.) of CBF1000, just got myself this bike and am kinda new to this stuff.
Thanks for watching :) I've done the brake pads and stuff already :) Sparks and all the rest will be done at some point too when they're needed :) So I'll hopefully have plenty for you to watch!
The nozzle you press on a soap dispenser long tube can be stuck I to the oil resovour and that can suck up the oil if you put too much into it. I had this issue and it took out what I needed as I put too much oil in the engine which is a no no ha
Hi, love your friendly and informative videos. The only thing I'm struggling with is finding a copper washer for the sump plug.... would you be able to send me a link of the one I need? I know this is 2 years old so hoping you see this comment, thanks for any help!
Thanks glad you like them! Any local auto store, Amazon or a lot of hardware shops will do assorted sizes of copper crush washers. That's what I do. Then just pick the most correct size.
Why did I watch this vid god knows I don't have the CBF1000 when I last did mine which wasn't long ago I forgot I didn't have a new crush washer ( very bad ) I think I've got away with it though ,so to sum up make sure you've got all you need before doing the job .I now have a couple in stock for next time as they are pennies ta buy .Hey I reckon it must be your magnetic personality ha : D
Haha I thought it'd be funny to see how many people did get that far with no CBF in their garage :P Ah you can generally re use them a time or two without any hassle, just have to be careful! That's it really, I need to buy another kit of them soon as you'd use more of them over time than you'd think :) Magnetic eh :D Sure look I'll take that :)
im here cos i am :D i could fit on one if you could so probably yes i would. sorry not been commenting of late although ive still watched and liked, lot going on and mentally drained of late.... plus so many vids lol
Well thank you for being here! :) You definitely could, I think you'd like it :D Not at all man, life is more important as is looking after yourself, hope all is well! :) Haha yeah I know sorry :D
I am not advising you on anything as you can get that information from the manufacturer and service manuals. But I can tell you I changed mine every 3000 miles or 4800km. If the clocks had been in km I would have done 5000km.
Привет. Можешь показать как отсоединить главную топливную магистраль при снятии топливного бака(Hi. Can you show how to disconnect the main fuel line when removing the fuel tank
I did oil oil filter air filter and plugs about a month ago the plugs were an absolute pain in the butt when they need doing again its going in to the garage to be done 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
#outrocrew just like watching bike vids and maybe one day but I just recently purchased a honda africa twin adventure sports and am in love with the bike
Interesting to see a comment from a month ago when the video was released on the 18th of May 2021? I guess being subscribed does not give me the option to see videos as they are released or something. Just a bit strange though.
It's no secret that I give patrons early access to videos :) All videos get released eventually to everyone I literally just mix up the timeline. This was supposed to be an extra Sunday release but I've had food poisoning the last 4 days.

I like the idea of the wee cover over the oil filter 👌
Me too. It should be on all the bikes really. Might try make one for the Magna cus it's filter gets absolutely destroyed.

Danke! :) It's a nice oil, plus makes it really easy to see when it's getting dirty through the sight window! Me too! It's not a good move :D
Picking a CBF 1000 up tomorrow 🙂

nice video. When yoh can splurge go for the 300V Motul. best oil I have used in a sports bike. it shifted smoother and revved easier.
Thanks. I'll try it in the GSXR, I used Liqui Moly in that last time and it's ran very well but I am a Motul fan :)

Hi,
Love the video, can i use any oil filter other than oem, any suggestions on a good oil filter ? Hiflo ?
I've never used OEM, pretty sure I even called out the Hiflo I used in this video. You can find the model on their site
The nozzle you press on a soap dispenser long tube can be stuck I to the oil resovour and that can suck up the oil if you put too much into it. I had this issue and it took out what I needed as I put too much oil in the engine which is a no no ha
That is actually genius......I've only ever put in too much once, I siphoned it out but that would be so so much easier :D

Hello bro, I have questions, how many kilometers should I change the engine oil?
I am not advising you on anything as you can get that information from the manufacturer and service manuals. But I can tell you I changed mine every 3000 miles or 4800km. If the clocks had been in km I would have done 5000km.
Hey i Bought my first CBF 1000 as my first bike do you use Chain oil or do you use the recomendend Sae80-90?
Congrats! I've always used dry lube in the summer and waxier lube in the winter. Mostly motul.
how many miles to change oil ?
I change the oil every 3500 miles. The service manual says a lot higher I think.
