    I debated for a long time too and now this is my favorite garden tool ever! Plus you get to tell your friends that you are going out to the garden to commit hori hori.

    Sure is a good video. My kitten keep trying to knock it out of your hand. I see I've missed a lot of videos. That's a nice tool. We been getting some rain the last couple of days. Have a great weekend.

    I have been debating about maybe getting one of these. You definitely know your horizon hori's!

      It's hard for me to hide my love of the barebones hori hori, but it's expensive and as a cheaper alternative this is a solid hori hori

    I have the Barebones Hori Hori ultimate and I can't say enough good things about it. It is such a versatile and my go to tool. It was a bit pricey but I got it for 20% off with a first time purchase at the Barebones Living website. Every gardener needs a Hori Hori.

    Really good look at both of those. The Bare Bones one is on their site right now for the same price, but without free shipping. Both are super tempting though and I couldn't see needing one for our yard, but plan on getting one of the two soon anyways. LOL Thanks for the share!

      It's the tool I use the most, I mean for like everything. The barebones one is great at opening my hard cider at the end of a hard work day 😉

    Thanks for bringing in another option. Many home gardeners would probably do fine with the less expensive version. Also the blade on that can probably be sharpened like any knife I would imagine. Oiling the wood will help it last longer too.
    I realky like the idea of a leather sheath as well, though whole grain leather and not the reconstituted material a lot of leather products are made of these days. Hmmm...we need to talk to Bare Bones Josh. I like their original sheath for what it it, but literally every time I look at it my heart says, "If only you were leather." I'm a sucker for leather though. Probably from all those years of playing baseball and the smell of the leather mitt, which I still have. 😁💕

      It can be sharpened I was just a little disappointed at how quickly it got dented up, I mean I chopped a tree down with the barebones and zero marks on the blade. I wonder if we can get them to offer a leather holster that would be really cool. Oh the smell of a baseball mitt!

    Hello. You give great info! Thanks Do you have a favorite weed puller?

    • @Citystead

      I really use my Hori Hori for pulling weeds but I am looking at a couple weed puller options

    I've seen so many bare bones break ,cause they're not a true full tang. They have a 1/3 tang with a bolt that's spot welded on. Supposed to be able to tight the blade to handle on bare bones but the spot weld is prone to breaking.

      I haven't had any issues with mine yet, I have heard of them breaking but mine has been strong and lasted with zero issues going on a few years now.

    The hori hori is also the supposed grandson of the kunai Wich was also a digging knife oftenly serrated but the kunai was more of a wrecking tool

    • @Citystead
      @Citystead  4 роки тому

      Interesting, I looked up the kunai knife pretty wicked looking and I can see where the hori hori looks like it could be from that knife shape wise. I'm going to do more research that would be neat if they were related
