  • Thank you for so many subscribers so far, you can always send us requests and we will try to make a tutorial for that.
What we are doing today is the effect which you can see in the first Hunger Game movie where Peeta Mellark is painting bark on his arm.
    Hope you enjoy
    Materials you can use:

Really nice video, skipping all the boring stuff. Just enough to show how to do it! I was looking for a DIY tree face and found this, and I'm glad I did!

That really turned out great. Thank you for this video.
Please, I have a couple questions. Did you have to clean the bark before applying the alginent?
I noticed you weren't wearing gloves, that must be a safer product? With the kit I have, they say to wear a respirator, especially if you're not in a well ventilated area, and to wear gloves.

Thanks to you for these tutorials, please keep doing it... I'm watching you from Ecuador and I don't really speak much english but I understand everything you say! Keep always closed your latex bottle then it won't dry or pour in a glass just the látex that you are going to use. (Sorry if I'm not using the right words)

Amazing job! Looks great! What is the ratio of paint to latex you used? I haven't seen anyone do that, but it's a great idea! Do you even need to seal it with that?

“I’ve reached a point where it looks like Nutella” 😂
Oh that was a good laugh, thank you for that :)
The latex-acrylic has a shine to it that the matte bark doesn’t, have you ever tried using Plains Dust or a powder (pigmented or translucent) to remove the shine? (Probably dusted on while the paint is still tacky). Love the technique of mixing the latex with the acrylic. Thanks for the video :)

Can you use plaster of Paris instead of the Alginet

You sortof can, the mold will just be very rigid and it often ends up being a one-time use because it scratches and dents easily. We used it once in a pinch and I think you’ll probably need a release agent before applying the latex. (Pam spray and Vaseline sometimes work, so do a few small experiments first just to be sure.) Be patient when de-molding, that part can be a beast and dried latex does rip.
