Your baseplate has worn out bushings on the baseplate the throttle flaps ride on. If you got too much clearance on those on any carb its impossible to get a consistent idle mixture and the vacuum leak will mess with the vacuum advance. Ive rebuilt a wheelbarrow full of 4mv quadra-bogs over the years. Though the edlebrock is a better choice for gas mileage
@@aalabbasi Good to know! I have a 68 Coupe deVille, and although its running pretty good, its almost impossible to adjust the air/idle mixture screws on the Quadrajet because of all the other stuff in the way...the coil, the a/c compressor...its a real pain! In watching your video, it looks like the Edelbrock mixture screws are right out on the open! And your car sounds like it runs great with that carb...and you say thestock air cleaner fits too? I'm going to take a serious look at that carb! Thanks for the video!
@@MrMajstyk that was the first thing I noticed when I pulled the carb out of the box! I thought this is going to be easy to tune but as it ran so well out of the box, i left it well alone and just drove the thing
Hi there, mostly very happy with it. It's easy to start and easy to dial in. I am having vapor lock issues, but I suspect that it's because the fuel is evaporating at the pump or in the hoses. I bought some wrap for the hoses which I plan to install this weekend. I'll throw a video up.
I have this car as well
Great and big collection nice classics .
You lost some weight 👏
Thankyou!

Thanks, the quadrajet in the videos was brand spanking new but not a Rochester. I will have a go at rebuilding mine.
Yes
What will you use for your air filter?
The stock air cleaner and filter fit perfectly and hide the carb.
