    I grew up in Houston - Spring Branch - and this is one of the malls I grew up going to - I remember this mall from the late 90s and 2000 and they had the same stores that memorial city had at the time.

      I grew up from Northwest Houston and I used to go to Northwest Mall. It used to be a great hangout place for high schoolers. I used to go for shopping and arcade place was there at the time. I love going to arcades.

    I grew up spending time at this mall
    Not as much as Memorial city but still a good bit. The Foley’s later Macy’s for many years had its original elevator from the 1960’s with pop out black buttons.
    Also if you want some history
    Shelly Duvall was discovered while working at that Foley’s I believe at the perfume counter.

      Same. My dad worked nearby so my brothers and my mom would spend all Friday every week waiting for him to get off work so we could all eat dinner at the nearby restaurants. It was pretty cool in the late 80s but even then got boring after 3 hours lol. Town and Country Mall will always be my favorite Houston mall of the past.

    I remember going there as a kid a lot, they had a lot of affordable stores where you could buy shoes and dresses for cheap. It had a really good food court and small convenience stores. It wasn't much of a mall but more of a marketplace for those that couldn't afford luxury.

    Levcor planned to close the mall in 2017 until the road construction around the mall was finished. The current rumor is that the mall has been sold to Texas High Speed Rail and they plan to use it as their terminal. There's a mall on the south side Almeda that's identical to Northwest.

    • @misterpimlott6330
      @misterpimlott6330  Рік тому

      Almeda is a bad town man I can tell you that now, always gunshots and murder, my ex gf actually coming to find out was dating a 26 year old and at the time my gf was 16 and I was 17 and found out she cheated on me with this guy at this mall when it was closed down. So to me this mall has a lot of back ground stories lol, but it's a cool mall especially. Thanks for the history
