I recently climbed up both of the silos by climbing up the side of the elevator shafts. very dangerous and risky but was worth it in my opinion

Dreyers was a baskin Robbin’s in the 90s. There was Sbarro, Chic Fil A, sesame hut, Piccadilly cafeteria , and a hamburger place I can’t remember the name of and great American cookie, right before they closed the alcohol Bundt cake place was there

It will be the Texas high speed rail from Houston to Dallas TX. That's what the elected officials said but nothing has been done. Bonds were approved when mayor's Parker and Turner were in office, allegedly it was said. I think. My opinion. It was closed 😢 but people still went there but now they go to memorial City Mall. My opinion tho

P & S Rice Mill.

I may have not been around in the early 2000's and 90's but I got to experience the last bit of the mall as a 10-12 year old in 2014-2016.

The one store at 2:30 looks like the typical photoshoot layout from the early 2000's

I have so many memories in that mall 😢....

The graffiti there is always good, removed, and replaced.

If for whatever reason, any contents of these silos were to suddenly leak out and submege you, you would likely die.

The bridge is gone now :( only the middle span remains and they are at to demolish it within the year…

I worked @ Piccadilly here for yrs. I hung out here alot. Was a pretty nice mall back then. They had a game room my son loved to go into. Memories. Alot of memories

That's not an abandoned factory that is a grain silo It is used to store grain That's what grain silos do in the majority of the grain elevator in the Houston area used to store rice until the United States started importing rice from Southeast Asia that put all of the rice farmers out of business pretty much in the entire United States

You asked if the city of Houston has any future plans for Northwest Mall. I've heard tell that if the proposed Super Train linking Houston to Dallas ever gets built this dead mall will be converted to a train station for the super train. I haven't heard much talk on this recently however!

I remember going there as a kid a lot, they had a lot of affordable stores where you could buy shoes and dresses for cheap. It had a really good food court and small convenience stores. It wasn't much of a mall but more of a marketplace for those that couldn't afford luxury.

The Store at the 1:30 mark is the old Texas State Optical. My dad ran it for decades.

They was mot a Macy there. In Houston Foley's was the store back in those days. My mother worked it the farm it store there for years
