I relate to the "hands are too hard to draw". It's either too simple it doesn't fit or too realistic that it's disturbing.

When my son was 7yr old he did a pencil drawing of a little girl wearing a dress & holding a knife & a robot boy with big bug eyes & metal teeth walking down the road being followed by a 4-armed demon.. it became my tattoo a few years later. Pretty painful getting all the scratchy scribble marks tattooed to look just like it but I love it & now he's 21yr & his art & imagination have progressed beautifully right along.

I sometimes wish I could go back in time with all of my current skills and knowledge and redo elementary school. Just to raise hell.
I'd give a zero tollorance policy a run to the grave in my freshmen year instead of the end of graduation. Just stuff papers in the lockers of every student saying "everyone violate the zero tolloreance policy. They can't get everyone at once!" Note: no cameras at the time.

my student population calls that a challenge. Welcome to maine. Many students (for whatever reason. Maybe a smart parrent who knows) somehow shifted the zero tollorence policy on schools here and they went and Mysteriously forgot what they wanted to talk about.... till smart phones came to be. Yeah voice recording was hella useful to stop that $h;t from letting schools get away with iffiy cases. Shout out to that lawyer mom who used her powers to find loop holes in a student hand book. Gave the school board a nightmare and a half when they did something stupid. Like wasted money that they had the students fundraise for a trip. Nope went to (mostly) new equipment we didn't need. The remainder of the cash sent the 5th grade to an amusement park.... for 2 hours... in tourist season. I was real mad.

Durring spirit week my brother bought a body suit in the school's colors. And to the rules they were accepted. Apparently people caught wind. Alot of the girls (who were brave) did it to. It was the only thing they wore. No skin exposed. They couldn't do squat. Lucky him
Part 2. They tried telling calling in police and parrents and it almost worked... till they called in one parrent who know what was what and then since they were going over board. He went to a lawyer and reviewed that year's handbook. He saw that nothing was wrong and in doing what they did he was chomping at the bit. The school heard and they back peddled to late. They went against their own word and to the magic of the courts equivalant of UNO's reverse card. The school got slapped with a nasty fine in the 6 figures. Or fix the records to fix their screw up and publicly apollgize. You can guess what they did.
Same I'd probably just play my life on easy mode for the most part and make some "lucky" investments in stocks and such

My teachers would always ask me to use my art for like a show one time even in college I never got any of them back and that made me upset the one in college we had to draw two people interacting with each other and another person watching I literally just drew the scene in fight club when Brad Pitt is holding a gun to Raymond and there was no shots of Edward Norton in the background but I put him in as if he was there and then I just changed their faces so it wasn’t obvious
Edit: I guess he is in the back I just googled it and watched the movie... very weird because I remember doing this... it takes hours to draw something good and you can like remember that kind of stuff ... maybe it wasn’t the angle I liked ... but maybe this is my Mandela effect and no one else notices it

I can relate to this one hard. I remember:
-Throwing a small chunk of snow stuck to my hat after a kid pretty much smacked me upside the head. I got in trouble.
-Not moving out of the way of a kid who decide to go push infront of me (No, there wasn't any reason why he had to do so, he just wanted to get back to class faster. We came up to a doorframe, and he pretty much walked into it. I got in trouble.
-In elementary school A kid decided to go up the slide. I was apparently at fault for not checking, so I got in trouble.
-Also in elementary school a kid made an evening of running into kids at recess. One of these times i put my arms out to stop him. He proceed to quite literally, and with no exaggeration, grab me by the neck, and swing me over his and throw me onto my back (I was an absolute twig of a kid, and he was a grade ahead of me). I got in trouble for pushing him.
-A kid pretty much choking me out over a ball. After I got up I walked over to him and hit him square in the face. This one I probably deserved the trouble I got in, but stand by the fact the other kid should've got in trouble as well.
-A kid freaked out after I apparently looked at him too much, and jumped on me and started clawing at me. I don't remember much of the attack, but remember pushing him off and walking away. I don't even have half a clue what leap of logic the school made to make me the aggressor, but I got in trouble.
The best part of all of this? Not once did any of these kids get in trouble for what they did to me.
Side note: It felt good to get this all off my chest.

I got a zero on an art assignment in kindergarten. We were told to draw a clown; which I did, all in pastel. The teacher told me to redo it in bright primary colors and I refused. Got a fail and a note home to my mom, who chewed the teacher out

Ooooh, the when you snapped at bullies question! I have a few answers for this.
The best was in middle school, about the year 2000. 6th grade, after lunch, lined up outside the classroom, waiting for the teacher to open the door. The class bully, who was at LEAST twice my width (and I was a little overweight back then. I am more overweight now. Thank you, comfort eating.) He regularly bullied me, calling me fat (which was INCREDIBLY ironic) and all sorts of things like it. It was rarely physical, but I had a few before that were so I was just waiting for it.
This day he began walking down the line with an empty plastic soda bottle, hitting everyone on the head as he walked down. I was already having a bad day, and as he approached, I told him to knock it off. When he got to me, he wound up extra far and, before he could hit me, I punched him in the face, knocked him down, and began beating him with the soda bottle.
Security showed up, saw it was me, who was always nice to everyone, and froze for a few seconds, letting me get a few more hits in, before pulling me off of him.
Everyone told them what happened, and they trusted me because of the type of person I was at the time, and the officers literally told me they were required to give me a suspension, but they really didn't want to because he deserved it. They were all frustrated with not being able to get him in trouble. So I was suspended for literally just 1 day, giving me a 3 day weekend.
My mom congratulated me for finally standing up for myself, like she had been telling me to do for years, then give me what felt like a mile long list of chores because I had still gotten suspended. Almost a perfect 3 day weekend...
the whole "Lazy person wins" story is why I stopped trying at anything in school

Once, in middle school, I had finished my work in pre-algebra and decided to draw. The teacher had given us nothing else to do and my work was turned in.
She proceeded to walk over to my desk and - without a word - snatched my drawing off of my desk, crumbled it up and threw it in the trash. The entire time, she just had this smug grin on her face as though she was getting back at a trouble student and not the quiet kid who never talked and was too nervous to even ask to go to the restroom.
I would understand asking me to put it away, but taking a drawing that I had been working on all day and throwing it in the garbage?
I'm still a little bitter.
The kid making the card wishing his friend got better made me feel hope there are good people at least somewhere in this world

All of the art teacher stories bring back alot of memories. I stopped doing art after i had a teacher in hs hold my art up and make fun of it in front of the class then walked over and told me i would never amount to anything. I told him to f off and walked out.
My momma taught me and my younger brother to _NEVER_ use our self defense training to hurt others because of words. If they threw a punch then all bets were off (especially me because I have always been short af and looked about five years younger than my peers until I was 30). I love my momma! The school punished the victims, even if they only defended themselves. Screw that! Bullies should find out what they are putting their victims through!

I was talking during class when I was 5y old, next thing I know I was locked up in the classroom during lunch and in a moment of fear, crept under a desk to hide from people and sat there for 30minutes until a teachers cane into the classroom to eat there

My 3rd grade teacher was the worst bully! Nothing any of us could do about it. She'd smack our heads & faces, she shook me once, yelled all the time. We were really scared of her!
I had a teacher tell me I was sweeping wrong with the broom. I wasn't but we argued about it & it still pissess me off 20yrs later. I wonder if people who see me sweep the porch are laughing at my sweeping dysfunction as they drive by. Lol
My fav part of these is when they say stuff like "not a whatever but...." if youre asked questions you cant start a story with im not a whatever but its a similiar story....
I was a counselor at an art camp for young kids. The assignment was to draw whatever ocean animal you liked the most, this kid picked a dolphin that appeared to have two tails. I go, “what’s that?” And he motions for me to come closer, and whispers in my ear, “those are his boy parts” and he smiled really big. Honestly, I thought it was funny/cute so I didn’t bother doing anything about it. We never hung them up on display, so who cares?
I wonder if any of my teachers could sense my crushes 😖 I was the type that shut down 90% of the time and made polite conversation the other 10%. I was a straight-A student, so I never stared at anyone in class 😏 I'm either paying attention to the teacher, doodling, or staring at the flickering light 😹

For art class, we had to draw something that was a compilation of that artists work, like a remix or something. I chose H.R Giger and some of his 'New York City' works merged together with his Alien stuff. I worked hard on that on an A3 sized paper.
Usually when drawing, I just settled with whatever came out of my pencil when it came to my art but for this, if it wasn't what I intended or up to scratch, I erased it and tried again.
The next day and I was sitting with my mates in the library and we were all looking at this picture and they were being genuinely impressed and congratulatory, which was rare because my mates back then got a bit arse-y if I was proud of anything I did back then. That's when we're approached by a lady who was on a councillor team for an optional confidence boosting class I was given instead of maths (so of course i took it). She was also the wife of the art teacher and the mother of a kid I'd grown up with, so she knew who I was.
She took one look at the picture I had out in front of me and turned immediately to my friend - another artist in the group - and said how good it was. My friend corrected her, telling her with a smile that I had drawn it. The woman laughed out loud and insisted I wasn't capable of such things. All my friends on the table humours-though awkwardly- chimed in that yes, I was the one who drew it, but then the woman started to get angry with them, acting like they were all playing some kind of joke on her.
Listening to this woman -who was one of my confidence counsellors remember- angrily berate me whilst all my usually-not-so-sympathetic friends insisted that yes, I was capable of such things finally got to me and I yelled out 'I drew this!' whilst pounding my fists on the table.
Everyone was silent. I was never confrontation. She looked down at my picture with an upturned nose and then up and me with pure distain in her eyes and just when 'Oh...' and walked off.
(I was broken emotionally and mentally because of all the bullying I received and the school didnt care until it started effecting my grades and so I was assigned to that class because of it. I've not trusted mental health workers or teachers ever since, though I know there are good eggs out there amongst them)
Listening to the stories about how teachers know which students have lets me know that I chose well to hide my crushes by never looking at or interacting with other human beings and sticking my nose in a book at every opportunity. Success?
I got in trouble for “swearing” in elementary school. First grade. By some third grader who became a serious potty mouth later in school. This girl claimed I said the b word that means dog, and told the teacher. I ended up having to do a behavioural program for the rest of the year. Which included me having to see the guidance counsellor daily to make sure I was good through the day. I had been having learning difficulties that year due to missing half the school year from extenuating circumstances.
I got in trouble in a class I never did much work in because the teacher got angry about a lot of stupid stuff. I was finally doing actual work and able to focus on it but I was sitting in the computer chair ‘wrong’ (as in, I made myself comfortable, maybe crossed on of my legs or was cross legged on the chair and it was slightly not facing forward). She yelled at me because ‘this isn’t your rumpus room’....I stopped doing the work after that because I was too uncomfortable to focus. That same teacher sent my friend to the office for wearing contacts because it was distracting the class, when literally no one had noticed (and I’d even come to school in full special effects makeup and no one cared) and sent another friend to the office every class just for asking about the work or sometimes just walking in. He had her as a teacher for two classes back to back so he basically spent half the day for two weeks in the office until someone brought him back and told her she couldn’t make him miss so much and she had to keep him in class. Everyone hated her.
dumbest thing i got punished for in school? NOT fighting. stood there, got slapped a bunch by a chick, got expelled. i didnt fight because 1. i dont fight girls without good reason and 2. i was already really high on the punishment ladder. assistant principal had it out for me and pushed for me to be expelled. he was fired that year and later has his license revoked for doing the same at the next school he went to.
I got in trouble once because I didn’t wanna use a computer (Early 2000’s) and I started crying because new things that involved computers overwhelmed me and I was little. They threatened to take away a keychain I made and was proud of. I cried harder because of that. They called my mom. Later I got a pet bird because the last day of school I didn’t cry for once. 😗
In sixth grade our teachers decided we were all too young to have crushes and to be couples so when they found out that two boys asked two girls out the day before after school they made everyone sit in the same class room for the 2hr time block between morning break and lunch to all talk. So all the sixth graders sat as they tore apart every insecurity we all had then focused on the 4 kids and made them say why they thought they could have a bf or gf, and in the end 30 before lunch said “see you guys have absolutely no reason to be together” then asked first one girl if she was going to do what’s right or get the principle and their parents involved? She said what’s right of course and then she had to say we are breaking up. Then they asked the boy and he said the same thing then went to the second couple and same deal then the rest of class was how this was not allowed. The three 6th grade teachers gave the entire 6th grade students in our school all massive complexes about dating and everything that went with dating is wrong and 100% not allowed and will lead to expulsion. This was also a public school so it’s wasn’t like our parents are paying for us to learn not to flirt type thing. Those 4 kids spends that 2hr 30min block of time first horrified then just silently crying it was horrible. It didn’t stop all dating thou. The last 2-3 months of school everyone would hangout at the state library across the street of our school after school finished for the day and everything that happened at the library stayed at the library lolz
The college I went to decided to build a large water fountain in the middle of the quad area, in a small California town that every year constantly has drought warnings and over consumption of water. There was a petition going around speaking out against the building of this waste of water that had signatures from over half of the student body, mine included. The college admis of course ignored the petition and voices of the students and built the fountain anyway. I later graduated then moved after it was built so I don't know how everything turned out.
When I was in 9th grade Art Class I was pretty good at pencil drawings, so good that I started selling sketches to guys of the Rome Venus.
I drew a grave and was repeatedly asked if it was a death note. I later wrote SOME RANDOM GUY on the tombstone just so they would stop.
It’s always very disturbing to hear about teachers punishing girls for being “too provocative when they aren’t being provocative at all it most likely is because they felt a little bit of twang were they shouldn’t and they felt guilty about it so of course they have to punish you

I was a nerdy WoW player that didn't look like a nerd back in Junior High. I looked more like a scene kid, or like a " depressed teen that hangs out behind the CVC doing drugs. " - even though that was furthest from the truth. ... I roleplayed in a guild of military people on Warcraft. Well, I had a very, very hostile English teacher in seventh grade. I had stayed up late one night for a guild RP event, then came in absolutely tired and had her English class first thing in the morning at 8. So I just came in, immediately put my head on my desk as she's lecturing us about certain spelling rules and she gets pissed off enough to shout my name and wake me up. She tries to make me spell a " tricky word " and I very sleepily spell it out and go " English is literally my first and only language. I know how to spell it. " as I laid my head back down.
this one kid had been really being an asshole to me (hte guy pointed a loaded stapler gun at my head and actually *pulled the fucking trigger* but the thing only worked when it was being pressed against wood but i still ducked and brought the girl standing next to me down with me cuz thats what you do yknow) and one day i just had enough so when he started calling me names i just told him something along hte lines of "its pathetic, you know". he got all defensive and was liek "whats pathetic, shithead" or whatever he would call me. I just rolled my eyes and said "its pathetic that you take your lack of self-confidence and parental affection out on other students just to make yourself feel better about yourself". The guy ran off crying and completely blew up the story. In the principles office he was yelling all this shit and insulting me and exxagerating what had happened saying that i hit him or whatever. I breathed in and once he shut up i told the principle how, ever since he was suspended for the stapler gun incident, he had been harrasing me and my friends viciously, insulting my friends (even calling my black friend the n-word), and so on. I hadn't reported any of it, knowing that a time like this would come and laying it all on at once would get him in more trouble than if i told a bunch of different times (the friend of mine who was called the n-word had the same mentality btw cuz otherwise i definetly would've reported it). The kid was told he would not be returning to the school the next year despite his parents being huge sources of income (it was a private school). This happened just days away from the last day of school and he just didn't show up the next few days and honestly it was the biggest relief i had felt in like ever and was one of the first times i actually felt proud of something i did.
tl;dr at the end of the schoolyear after 9 months of harrasment from this kid i finally got back at him by obliterating his "validation" or whatever and then got him kicked out after finally reporting him.

ya the bad thing about schools is they have NO ability to stop bullys. all punishments they can give wont stop them. the only way to stop a bully is to beat them down. all these stories of bullys turning into nice people arent about bullys, they are about mean kids. those can be changed with kindness. a bully only responds to getting their ass kicked.

My cousin gave me his old sketchbook which he had several diffrent sketches of the grim reaper in. I loved that book cause it made me feel like a professional. It was the last gift he gave me before he died. Well during art time in 3rd grade I pulled it out and started drawing a farm. Well the teacher saw one of the reaper`s and took my book. She then proceeded to grab me and dragged me to the disaplins office. Where they asked me if I was depressed felt like dieing. When I said no can I have my book back. They said no and started to shred it. I started to cry when they did and said now I do for my cousin gave me that sketch book with the sketches and he died a week ago. Course they yelled at me for not speaking up sooner. So yeah they over reacted that a skill in a talent I had just needed to practice and shredded my favorite dead cousins work and blamed me. I was so crushed and never drew again even when it was part of our grade/art class
Gods, the first stories make me think of my creative writing teacher. I love the woman, but she looks for symbols in everything
For example, I wrote and turned in a two page long short story about a sailor who dies at sea, tricked to jump into the ocean by his own sleep deprived mind. My teacher had these questions:

The crate was just where the sailor had been sitting, then where he set down a photograph, then where his captain found that photograph at the end of the story

No, I just wanted Umeko, the girl in the photo, to have plum blossoms in her hair since the name Umeko means, ‘Plum blossom child,’ and gladiolus were the only white flower I could think of since I wanted the flowers to match the kimono she was wearing
The little girl talking about drawing hands got it right. A master painter I know prices his oil paintings partially on the number of hands and faces in the painting. So she is well on her way to being a master artist.
My middle school had three benches with staff names on them and we weren't allowed to sit on them. Those things were in the front of the school yard and the only time we ever were allowed to sit there was for a photo with the yearbook staff for the yearbook. I always thought it was dumb
So it was about a month ago when this happened. I was drawing cartoon axolotls at lunch when my friend ( let's call her Kk ) saw it and was like, it's good, but maybe it should hold a gun. So then next day I drew a giant axolotl holding someone at gunpoint ( it wasn't an actual person, they were all white ). My teacher was fine with it but I should give it to other teachers, so I gave it to Kk. Well a teacher saw it, and it had my name. I got in trouble and my dad was mad

I was forced to write a poem in a drama class (??????), and wrote a poem about how I didn’t want to write a poem in drama class. It followed the rules to a T. I was still forced to rewrite it or get an F. Also, this was a substitute teacher?????
my school (elementary 2000) we had a girl with down syndrome who moved from another school (this was 2nd grade). She was maybe 7 years older than us and 200 lbs, since I was the sweet kid in class. I was suppose to be this girls friend (for this lets call her Anna). (Also somehow i was responsible for her even tho i was a student and had mild autism) things were fine for the first three months. We were heading back to our main class from speech class, i still have no idea what I did to upset her but Anna pushed me down and started to beat me with a metal trash can in the middle of our classroom until the teacher stopped it. We went into the hall. My teacher said "Anna didn't know any better and we both need to say sorry to each other". After that Anna got very aggressive towards me but since she had down syndrome, she wouldn't face any punishment and I had to "ignore" her to get her to stop. But she knew what she was doing from threating to slit my thoart in the school bathroom, beat me to death at the playground, choke me with a jump rope etc. (The school didn't do anything about it) this went on from 2nd to 5th grade. By the time we got to 8th grade, she went to tormenting another person but when she threatened to slit his throat and bring a gun to shoot him. She was quickly transferred to a new school.
I never understood why they waited until 8th grade to do something about this. I thought i could relax alittle after she was gone (by this point i had alot of anxiety and was struggling. Other kids got more intense bullying after Anna started it). Nope somehow first day of 9th grade, i was nervous anyway but walked into a english class and i heard my name being called. When i looked up it was Anna and hugged me (of course i was silently panicing in fear). Anna had no memory of what she did (not sure how) and was acting like i was her best friend for years.
The high school took me out of that class after my mom found out, i was in the same class as her.
I learned at a early age that the schools don't really care and only do if someone threatens to get lawyers (mom threatened the elementary school with lawyers since she was also on my bus ride. So she tormented me to a breaking point that the bus driver was telling the school to kick her off the bus.)
After the principal heard the word Lawyer. Anna never rode my bus again.

I got a referral for not going to a class (the teacher seemed to thrive on humiliating students, being especially hard on the girls and largely ignored the boys.)

Group of boys would follow me and my friends around the lunchroom each day and sit next to us so they could throw food at us. We complained to the teachers but they never did anything. One day I had enough, opened my milk carton and walked over and dumped it on one of their heads. They never sat next to us again.
My school just has about 4 big flatscreen tvs in the cafeteria all on the walls, weve never seen them turn on.
I was in fourth or fifth grade. At recess my teacher had our class play baseball. I was pitching. Since I watched pitchers throw the ball to first base after a batter was out. I did this. At the same time my shirt ripped. The next thing I know the teacher is there screaming at me for throwing the ball to first base. He wouldn't let me explain. His voice was so angry as he is yelling at me. I was in tears by this time. Then told me to go back to the classroom. For me recess was over.
In one school they banned having best friends
I hated highschool because I was bullied for being too muscular. I will admit that I was in the gym a lot. I was also the one who took the school's weightlifting team to the national championship because I was in the gym so much. After the finals where I won I wasn't messed with for the rest of school.
The sub yelled at our classmate Robin bc she never heard of it being a girls name and thought we were messing with us

When i was 12 A lone bully would target my mentally disabled brother one day he was harassing my brother in the bathroom making him dribble on himself, I snapped and reached for his neck and strangled him till he passed out he woke up and never attempted shit on anyone again till high school.... one day i walk in the bathroom and again hes harassing some nerd about to give a swirly i said wtf are you doing again the bully dropped the nerd and instantly went white losing all his cred he was a tough guy and convinced his crew he had no fear needless to say after he pissed himself his reputation was never the same note I didnt even have to touch him the second time

Our school also started to tear down football stadium saying they had the funds and no more was to be given for it but in reality they only had half the money and were like well guess youll just have to pay the rest because we can't have a half done football field.... there was some people in big trouble

Ok boomer, let me explain this to you. Saying mean stuff, as you put it, is word bullying. It makes the victims self conscious about their voice, body, eyes, appearance, personality etc and can cause the victims to become depressed and possibly worse.
