- It's been a while since I've shown you guys one of my sketchbooks. I think that means... it's time for a sketchbook tour! Join me for some fun as a flip through my pages and share my artwork. We have struggles, successes... and really weird things. :)
This sketchbook was mostly a place for me to relieve my stress. I didn't realize it when I started, but I was a little artistically burnt out from my day job (graphic designer). I was really thankful to have this when I felt like making art, but was too exhausted to create a big piece. I haven't really made many large pieces in the last few months due to exhaustion.... but I have filled this book rather quickly. Haha! Now I feel inspired to delve into something bigger!

Yessssss! More of the cute and funny looking cartoon people!!! I loved the first little girl, it would make a super cute OC, with background story and stuff. Your sketchbook is GOALS, Miranda. I loved this tour! I'm for sure going to try the stress relief patterns in my next sketch book. I'm a few pages away from the end of my first fully finished sketch book. I bought a cheap one to see if I could fill it and about 5 pages from the end I bought another one lol. So I went back and sketched a few things and now I'm almost done! I'm thinking for my third sketch book I want to focus on studying the art styles of some of my favorite artists (Munch, Van Gough, Monet, etc) and try to create pieces that reflect the study. I think you should name your sketch book Lucy! Also, after watching the first video you did on Prima Watercolors I asked for the classic set for my birthday and I have FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THEM! They are so amazing, and now I want them all! You're awesome Mira! Be Blessed!

I really like that watercolor landscape near the end; the one with the black bushes. I don't know what it is about it but it reminds me of the illustrations in some book I read at my grandma's house when I was a kid and it makes me happy.

Sorry I took so long to watch, I was busy in the hospital, dying. The figured out what disease I had quickly though, and I'm getting much better at the moment! Anyway, I had just come up with a potential character name for Valery over at Art A La Carte, and as soon as I saw the first page of your book I realized it would work for this too. The name is Amalia.

I was actually watching this while coloring some picture I neglected. I just finished this sketchbook today drawing wise, but some just need a POP of color. I do a lot of different things, like from my own tarot designs, do simple landscapes, zentangles, just whatever inspires me that day.

I love how you have 1 palette that you love so much. I have a problem where I keep buying paints. I love all my palettes but since I have quite a few there is not one that I use all the time. I kinda feel like I need a special palette too, but I can't decide between all of them. It's almost like when you have 5 children and you have to pick a favourite. It's impossible!

Thats how I am with my pallet. Ive had it for a bit over a year and only washed it twice. The only reason I washed it is because I had a specific piece I needed fresh bright colors for and couldn’t accidentally add a bit of color in that wasn’t supposed to be there 😂😂

My favorite thing to draw is really random. I like to draw like alien-looking-cartoony plant things and stick people. See, I like to paint, but not to draw very much.
I love your cartoony characters, they're so awesome and lovely and cute, I'd definitely like to see more! And the colours in the pattern at 8:19 though you say it's not attractive, looks actually very attractive to me, like I'd love to have a dress or a skirt with such pattern in these colours! Btw I think I'd name this your sketchbook Daisy, don't know why.

I'm 4 pages shy of finishing my 24th sketchbook. It's named "I Love My Cat" b/c I picked up a sticker with that on it at ye 'ol Wally World in the pet section and stuck it on the front cover. Ironically, there are NO cat drawings in this one. Cats are my 'go-to' comfort zone subject matter. I tried some of your 9 ways to fill a sketchbook hacks when I was fighting the urge to draw some kitties in it so I could keep with the ironic themed content. If you're looking for a name for your sketchbook, maybe call it ''Zen" because you mentioned how this one was your private place to release stress? When I'm stressed and ''arting'', the more stressed I am, the more ''cute-sy'' and "happy" my art turns out. idk... that's just my 2 cents. I really like and appreciate your art. Way to go, Mira!
I love that you use your sketchbook to unwind. I think more artists need to stop putting so much pressure on themselves to make perfect sketchbooks. I mean that entirely goes against the point of a sketchbook!

I finished my seventh sketch book and now iam at my eighth sketchbook.I guess I will do lots of doodling and more challenging stuff and don't know I have to find more things to do but I say your sketchings are awesome and very relaxing!!!👍💐😊☺️☺️

I make beads and all of the items you can imagine that you can do with them. This includes beads up to 3000 years old. There is a bead style which is the bead version of your stress reliever pages. I was going to keep this idea for myself but I like her so here it goes.
Ancient times, Venice, little old ladies and gentlemen sitting with what is now called a bunsen burner at their side. On the other side, three foot long canes of glass. These ranged in size but the ones that attract my attention the most are done with the smallest of cane. Pen artists, this would be like a /\.05 in size. On the floor at their feet and on their table lay the broken pieces of cane and core beads which were not formed correctly. The items they work on call out for the artist to make what they want to be. *ok, that was my Fantasy World speaking*
Near the end of the day the broken pieces and the cores would be joined in a jumbled yet satisfying chaotic way. Many of the artists would have apprentices who in the beginning would only be allowed to handle items, then progressing to the small piles of glass. Their first bead might have been what they
were allowed to work with.
These beads are called "End of the day beads" for obvious reasons.
You should do a hand holding a flower, for example a rose. I just think it would be really pretty since your really great at art! Ive been inspired to draw lots more since i started watching you!✏✒
