Best tutorial from a commercial I've ever seen. REAL home mechanic techniques and problems. Can get the parts cheaper but I would buy A1 just because of the video! The cost difference is tuition for the education.

Can these bad trailing arms cause like a death wobble ?
Thanks. How do you know when its time to replace?
What about the front-end housing for the rear upper control arms? Mine look rusty (so do the ones in the video) and I was thinking about replacing those too but I’m not sure if they’re welded to the frame. My issue is the pivot bolts keep getting loose even after properly torquing and I get rattles when I hit bumps.
The question is, should I use anti seize or loctite?
This the American version, mine is Japanese. The bolts on mine didn't come out of mine that easy! Bought new bolts had to cut some off with a sawsall!
+Gary Kent Thank for checking us out! We are glad to hear you got the repair completed. We will keep the Japaense model in mind when we do another repair similar to this.
Weren't all of these made in Japan though?
@@darthdarthbinkss, yes. It would have been imported from Japan.
I recently did my lower control arms and found that using another jack (the can jack that came with the suv) to push the rear axle forward when trying to reinstall the bolts was extremely helpful. I jacked from the center of another vehicle's wheel I was able to pull up perpendicular to my pathfinder. Hope this helps!
+kaylawuvscookies Thanks for the tip!
Yeah. I changed mines yesterday. Easy job if bolts aren’t seazed but blow torch helps as a last resort. The pushing of the dig with a jack was a big help. Control arms pop into place.
Would of been more helpful taking the driver side off. It has the filler pipe obstructing trailing arm bolts.
my front right wobbles very occasionally for last year I know trailing/control arms are in the rear so could this affect front also
It can yes, it can feel like front wobble but still due to rear control bars.
Is a helper absolutely necessary when replacing the upper control arms. Secondly, do you thin this can be done in a residential driveway with jacks and floor jack stands.
+Ty Johnson Extra help is always a plus when doing any repairs on a vehicle. If you plan to do this in a residential driveway, be sure the vehicle is properly secured and all safety precautions are taken. 1aauto.com
Hi, are you shipping parts to Qatar?
So the same trailing arm on mine is shot. The one on the opposite side has a little wiggle to with the weight off the suspension. Same with the lower control arms.
Should I replace all of them or is that little bit of play normal?
+Chris Chatto We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
The brackets on mine have a metal square block bolted to it Does anyone know what its used for or called?
I would like to see you change the trailing arm bushings, The big bar,
+Warren Albert We're always cycling through common cars. We'll add this repair to our list! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Do you sell new bolts for these as well?
+Max Bailey We do not.
What are the symptoms of bad (or soon to be bad) trailing arms in 97-04 Pathfinders?
+Cody Craddock Thanks for checking us out! Symptoms of this could be but are not limited to; a clunking/banging noise when accelerating or slowing down, excessive and uneven wear on tires, and sloppy feel when turning.
I see your bump stops have rusted off too
It the same on 1992? Pahtfinder
I am trying to buy the bracket where the control arm connects to at 7:04. mines rusted out and broke in half. I cant find a place that sells it. If anyone knows please let me know. Thank you.

Weld in a new one from a junk yard grind it off
Is torque wrench completly necessary?
+christisn salas This is suggested to ensure everything is tightened to manufacturer suggested torque specs.
I was looking bolts for both upper and lower trailing arms but I couldn’t not find them on your website. Do you have them for sale?
+Eyob G. Thanks for checking us out! We have the upper and lower trailing arms for the years 1997-2004 Pathfinder listed under part number 1ASFK01295. If you have a different year or model, please check out our website and chose your vehicle to take a look for them. 1aauto.com
1A Auto Parts but my question was if you have the bolts and nuts for those.
4X4 parts.com with shipping around $60
Thats for the bolts!!
I thought the wheel torque specs was 87 foot pounds?
pass side was done why not the driver side in the video ?
+racer98 Thanks for watching! We ended up doing both sides, but we just used the passenger side for the video. The process should be the same for the driver side! 1aauto.com
Because the gas tank makes it a huge pain in the ass!
Very hard without a lift
currently under the car doing it. Takes a while but very possible with a torch and the right tools
Show the drivers side suckers🤪
How come you don't use pneumatic tools in your videos? I mean you're using a professional lift.
What about the driver side
Driver side is tough because the gas tank is in the way but you just have to put the wrench on the outer side, and the ratchet on the inside
