Footstraps are .... overrated? - Strong Wind Foiling

- This weekend was pretty windy. On the saturday I used my 8.0 and it was around 22-24 knots. I managed to hit e new foil pb of 26.1 knots but I did break the end of one of my battens in the progress so Sunday I had to use a small sail. I just went for a freesailing relaxed session but still pushed for speed at some points. I had the bright idea of foiling and gybing with my feet out the straps and came to the conclusion that it was much easier than I expected. I encourage you to try doing silly things like this in your own sessions as it can greatly improve your skills and is a great laugh.

Beautiful day for foiling!
Flat water ok … once the chop builds good luck buddy
이게 세일링이지
멋집니다 ㅎㅎ
Nice session. For me médium and high wind foiling is the best… chasing the speed once you are well set ! Even if i dont really like going without back footstrap
For 85 wide board it seems that 25-30 knots is the max then a 75/78 wide board :)
Normally I go in both straps all the time but I felt like messing around on this day. That’s interesting about he smaller board but I’ve never had the opportunity to test it out but I would love to get the opportunity.
@@IvanWindsurfing My foil board is a Starboard iFoil100, 1m wide, 13.5 kg weight. After a long time training exclusively on that board I recently tried my Fanatic Falcon 136, a slalom board (82cm wide), upgraded with a foil box. Of course, this is not a foil slalom board but I thought I should stick with it before deciding to buy a dedicated foil - slalom - board. The Falcon is about 4kg lighter and thus easier to carry. However, even in higher winds sailing the iFoil feels easier for me no matter the footstraps.
How did you get the board for free
Warrantee claim, I had to trade the old one in
nice vjdeo , congrats ! I think that rear straps in a freemove way like you do are useless , IMHO
thanks! I actually have the footstraps in a race position as this is my racing board. I was just messing around on this day
