As a classic mini owner I came across this channel which seemed very informative, unfortunately completely ruined by the terrible and not needed music which drove me to abandon the channel after 10 minutes!
@@teabelly1565 We're sorry to hear that. We've adjusted the music levels for our newer videos but the music is needed overall, it's just quieter now. - Jr. Wigi
My first car was a 1964 beige mini van. Could corner on 2 wheels, carried 4 in the back and 2 in front, every day at work. Went like the clappers. 😅🎉🎉🎉
Amazing attention to detail Paul - it really shows you know your subject inside and out. Who would know that LWB mini's had a '3' stamped on the rear inner arch 3/8" from the top shock mount? We'll I do now!😃😃😎😎
Caught this by accident. I use to weld/refurb classic cars many years ago. De-seaming a mini was my nightmare job . And was glad to see the end of the job . But the car was beautiful when it was all up together. And all that had a hand in it were proud. . Keep up the great work bud 👍
My word, that is a superb job, you have some amazing skills. I remember the Willow Green and Grey Vans and Pickups from the mid 60s and the gaps were far from perfect when they were factory new. Thank you for posting.
Hi Paul just watched part 2 of the race mini now I'm watching this van, what a relaxing video, you do an amazing job but you make it look so easy and relaxing, no rushing or bodging, keep up the good work. P.S. first 2 videos I've seen of yours, now a subscriber.

It's been a great pleasure to see an expert sheet metal worker at his craft. A pleasure also to see your painstaking attention to detail to get things just right without resorting to body filler. I remember watching the fully painted new Mini van and Pick up bodies arriving at Longbridge by lorry from Fisher and Ludlow's factory at Castle Bromwich in the 1970's. It was a common sight to see three or four lorries standing on the Bristol Road waiting to unload. Most of the bodies were painted blue or grey. Willow green is a lovely but more unusual colour. I look forward to the next instalment.
I always love it when my detail is appreciated, thanks. The van is being painted, then will go for assembly. I'll be catching up with it again later in the year at a Mini show to film the final result which will be shown here. meanwhile I am deep into a Mk1 Mini body restoration of which the first video will be showing next week

Paul , I could not be happier . Your attention to detail is astonishing . Now off for painting , which will be about 6-8;weeks before putting it all back together . Looking to do a final video of the finished article !!!
I love these old British Leyland restorations, lots of original parts kept despite having been replaced three times since new obviously. (Trigg’s broom) 😁🇬🇧👍
I have a 1967 Mini Traveler steelside - that is the station wagon ordered with the "delete wood trim" option selected. That was common here in Canada due to winter upkeep issues, while the upgraded heater (3.5 kw?) was also commonly selected. They both show up on my Heritage Certificate. Vans were very uncommon here, while the Parks Department here in Toronto ran several white pickups.
Great skills and knowledge sir. I was caught out many years ago on fitting inner wheel tubs on a pickup. Its only now thanks to you that I found out they are wider on pickups. I thought it was something that I had done wrong lol
Thanks for the video’s Paul. It brought back memories of my old dad when he stripped his mini down in the early 70’s. Old school craftsmanship and attention to detail. Wondered if you had/considered using one of the new hand held plasma cutters, eg Lidl/Parkside, to cut out complex shapes rather than use an angle grinder with a slitting disc?
I used to work for a company that made mini panels from the original tooling it looks like your door panel wasn’t placed correctly in one of the tooling stages after the first draw stage, that’s why it had a double coach line.
Great work, any chance you can show me how to do the inner & outer A-panels on the next one. I've only ever done Mk3 A-panels and would love some tips for my pickup build. Thanks
