That moving dashboard is probably great for the vertically challenged, and a neat show off toy feature. (Until it breaks, but let's hope they've done their homework and that it's reliable.)
I actually got an job offer from this company yesterday. But I have decided to accept the offer from nio. Voyah is a good looking car with some flaws, given some time it might be great.
congrats on working for Nio. If you will be working in the software department, maybe you can help with building a less annoying notification system. The repeated dings and dongs (plus Nomi always saying something like "Nio Pilot engaged") is just too intrusive for European market.
@@gechichan Thanks, and that's a problem I see on almost every chinese EV, and sure we have recieved some complaints about that. Hope as the european market grows, this will change in the future. BTW I work in the VCU development team, so I don't really know what's going on in the application software team.
I like the car's emission. the car's layout is fantastic, but it's such a shame they allow you to test it when their software isn't ready for it. hope you get the opportunity to do a new test when the car is ready, because I don't think the car has a chance in the car test without proper software. thanks for a good program
My opinion is subjective and can be biased. I wouldn't consider this Voyah, the premium NEV brand by Dongfeng Motor, which is/was the partner of PSA and Renault in China. Not only did Dongfeng have little to zero experience in producing premium cars (the new Citroën DS had been an utter failure in China), but being a 'constructeur généraliste', their mainstream products do not have good reputations either. It is just impossible that they could suddenly become good overnight. Plus, I have never seen a single Voyah Free on China's now EV-flooded roads.
@8:24, the ability to move the video display area vertically is for a future software update that adds addition icons. These icons will be secondary or optional features. Remember: this car is fresh off the boat from China - software is not optimized for Scandinavian market , yet.
You can tell the software is prototype by the lack of bings and bongs like on Xpeng...by the time it is production ready I bet they will be there . I do like the looks though both of interior and exterior
Thanks for the Video Björn. I wonder what the USP of all these different chinese cars is... They are somewhat all similar. Well Nio has battery swap. But is not the price at the end the only difference... And is it enough to compete against the known competitions...
What is it with Chinese cars and the size? I mean, sure, there are people who have a lot of stuff to haul around, so they might prefer bigger ones, but also, smaller cars are easier to park, easier to navigate through narrow streets or parking houses, so some people might prefer something more conservative when it comes to the outside dimensions. One would expect there to be something to choose from. It seems all the Chinese cars you've tested are huge beasts 😲
22:17 hei Bjørn . In Germany we say "Tankpistole" or "Zapfpistole" means " filling pistol/ tapping pistol" so it is not an unusual designation in several other countrys. US name that fuel gun Greetings from Brumunddal
575 is a realistic best-case estimate. If you want it to go 602 it is possible, but then you have to drive max 60 km/h for example. Very dependent on speed.
That is just not a finished product but you gotta give it to the chineese automakers, they get pretty good at taking design elements from others and frankensteining them into smth. that actually works.
it looks very good. however, the charging speed, consumption and the noise inside is really crap. regarding inner values are not good in chinese cars. i think this is why porsche, bmw and mercedes will still sell well in china. chinese people with deep pockets still like to have german upper class cars.
Nice car! But they should really think about to develop the software outside of China. One centralized sw-development company for multiple brands, as a co-operation.. Mh.. Why not?! 🤔 Let me know, I can organize a kickoff meeting 🥹
Impressive work TB, you are really bringing out lot of reviews 👍. Hope you get early access to test BMW iX1

WLT*P* , P = procedure and on the other hand WLT*C* , C = cycle. Cycle is a subcomponent of Procedure, same as in Europe.
Correct!
Thanks for the review! Looking forward to acceleration test, as well as noise test!
Beautiful colour!
We Are Waiting For The Zeekr 001, come on man... Like what you r doing, watching you from Morocco😁😜
I like the rims, reminds me on Alpina 😁
Ah, yes... It reminded me of something but could not nail i down... You did 👍
"The pointless feature" seems perfect for when you sit in a position where the steeringwheel covers the speedometer. I'd use it for sure :)
The music test is a Nice feature now

if it’s any consolation, the original chinese version of the software isn’t much better.

@1:35, Chinese EV has very nice panorama display, which is much better than ‘iPad’ style display used in Tesla and its copycat.
Please do a new test with updated software. Thank you.
Great EV, China has dozens of EV brands, Dongfeng VOYAH FREE is one of the popular ones.
nice design
Bjorn watching Bjorn :)
interesting car Bjorn
14:49 - Why green bar in vehicle is upside down? Shouldn't green bar start from bottom while charging?
Ah, I am not a Petrol Head but a CHARGING HEAD 😀
"Is that the most pointless feature in a car?" Lost my shiiiiet there. LOL!

Please do new test of this car with current European version. Thank you so much.
My Tesla m3p also jumps up and down , even the number of km charged jumps up and down
Hello Bjørn, can u enable subtitles? Thanks
Free Range Eggcellent test 🥚🍳

Is the charging speed going to be raised in the future? 75 kw is dog slow for a brand new car
Never buy an expensive tech item for features it does not yet have.
where the first video of that car ?

What the heck?! The instrument cluster says 475 km wltc range, but the charge screen say 223 km range🤯
Very noisy car…and huge consumption
Расход электроэнергии очень расстраивает. При скорости до 100 км/ч расход 23 кВт. Много.
I think it's better at night with lowered dashboard
Budget F-Pace SVR.

In Poland we also call the petrol fuel end for pistol. But don't call for pistol any charging stuff
No cruise control? What about speed limiter?
Nope. That was also the first thing I checked for.
This car has so many design elements inspired from traditional manufacturers 😅
Well duh! Pininfarina designed it.
Hi Bjørn
I have bought a new Model 3 LR last month here in OSLO.
When i charge it to 100% it shows only 575Km range .
Can you explain why ???
@@sliddjur haha but i am asking because its just brand new and it should be around 602km.
By the way which model do you own and what year ?..
@@starvictory7079 yeah i thought about that too . But my daily driving is around 40-50 kms and driving speed between 80-90 km/h
@@Jeroenneman so what i understand is that the actual range fluctuates according to our driving speed and climate ???
575 is a realistic best-case estimate. If you want it to go 602 it is possible, but then you have to drive max 60 km/h for example. Very dependent on speed.
@@runesandnes9384 yes maybe, i have seen bjørn driving model 3 LR upto 640 Km range
WLTP: Worldwide harmonized Light vehicle Test Protocol
WLTC: Worldwide harmonized Light vehicle Test Cycle
I think we shouldn't stand a car showing 630km of range and getting 300km out of it. That's less than a half!
If i was manufacturing cars and trying to enter a brand new market i would not provide any cars for review and testing until it is 99% ready.
That is just not a finished product but you gotta give it to the chineese automakers, they get pretty good at taking design elements from others and frankensteining them into smth. that actually works.
At least the grill isn’t as ugly as that last Chinese barge. It doesn’t look too bad. Shame it’s rubbish.
China is kicking ass for the lord with these designs, but is let down by stupid names and software design
Ora Punk Cat, Zeekr 1, Avtar 11, Nio ET7 seem to be very stylish names.
Masse rart i called and wanted their grill back...
230 Wh/km at 90kmh and a whopping 298 at 120kmh? 😂 you need your own nuclear plant towed behind that car to get anywhere ...
Y.A.C.C. Yet another Chinese car

i think this is why porsche, bmw and mercedes will still sell well in china. chinese people with deep pockets still like to have german upper class cars.
Another big @ss useless car with almost 2.5 tons and maybe half of the estimated range... Do you people really need this?
Based on the quality of the translation, I would stay very far away from that vehicle
Nice car! But they should really think about to develop the software outside of China. One centralized sw-development company for multiple brands, as a co-operation.. Mh.. Why not?! 🤔 Let me know, I can organize a kickoff meeting 🥹
Huawei will do this job and has already several cooperations with car brands.
