The Saxophones definitely sound better on the xml, but I’m buying the 2020 because I need it for vocal audio as well. Just wanted to hear how my instrument would sound on the 2020.
Texturas75 In the end I went with a Rode NT2A which is more expensive but sounds great. You can watch a comparison I did between the Rode NT2A and an AKG C214. Thanks for your comment :)

Which best for voice recording. ???
I love my at2020 is just beautiful
I really like mxl for voices, but I notice at sax that doesnt picked up the higher frequencies as good as at2020.
In the end I went with a Rode NT2A which was better than both of these. More expensive but it was worth it.
Thanks! Almost all the videos are voice work for mic comparison. I'm leaning towards the MXL's sound myself, but both are great for the price!
At 2020 👍🎷
i think mxl all the way
@Paweł Kamiński Saxophonist / Composer Among AT2020, AKG C3000 and MXL 990 what you prefer to be the best?
Never tried AKG C3000 and I chose Rode NT2A over MXL and AT2020. More pricey but well worth it.
@@pawelkaminskimusic Yes, nt2a is really good. Anyway for a 200$ budget is good a nt1 or a aston origin?
@@MrSax93 Never tried any of them so can't comment but I've heard good things about NT1 so maybe you should consider it.
I think in this specific case i like more the at2020
I kind of like both. A band mix would determine which is better for the sax.

@@pawelkaminskimusic Thanks for the reply! Those Mics are def. in another league! Gonna check that out.
Horses for courses....I like the MXL more on your tenor, I think on your alto it sounds a bit nasal, and prefer the AT 2020.....
What pre amp are you using?
It's plugged straight into the Behringer Xenyx QX1002 USB so nothing fancy.
mxl by far
MXL wins!
Both at the same time? 2020 farther away.....
One after another so there might be some slight differences in mic placement.
