Just like to say I am really thrilled to watch these videos, I must say they are just wonderful. I am currently modelling a 00 gauge layout of Minehead stations to Dunster station which is an end to end layout, so it is great to view these very helpful videos which very enjoyable too! Cheers mate and thanks for all your efforts put into making these videos.
Oh thank you for saying that. In the past I have made cab ride videos which include the journey from Minehead station to Dunster so those could be useful for you. Just search for them in the rectangular box at the top of the page. One, a rear view, I remember the title of is "Leaving Minehead behind" or something very similar!.
I bet many people don't realise that it is quite an old locomotive really. I had a fine model in N gauge by Arnold of one, many years back. That ran well too!
@@paulfrancis764 A point I have made a few times and there are reasons why this happens. But the 33' are only out once, for their Birthdays, on the Diesel days the rest are D7018. D7017 is waiting to have new springs fitted.
HIP HIP HOORAY its Hymek day. Wonderful to see WSR in motion again. Travelling along brings back so many memories from when I walked the track. It's all on video but nothing like the quality we have these days. Well recorded Mike. thank you
Its a shame when we look back at early videos we took the quality isn't so good! Still at least we can be reminded of things that are unlikely to happen again
Should have got to Dunster before part 1 ended. It would have been better that way. I hate it when one's destination isn't reached when first part ends. By the way, the timetable said Diesel Services and yet who should appear steaming into Crocombe Heathfield, but Foxcote Manor. Me thinks you should have had a ride behind her instead. How is it that my beloved Foxcote Manor decided to put a smile on my face, on a Diesel Service day? Perhaps her Driver remembered how much I love seeing her in steam, that part made me grin I happily admit.
Sorry to disappoint but its looking like four parts to cover all that happened that day! This one diesel train was running together with the normal steam trains. Glad you liked seeing Foxcote Manor again. It appears later again in the day!
Lovely scenes at Crowcombe Mike. I really dislike the way the WSR have gone down the 'receipt' avenue for the tickets. Really lacks character and is part of the day out getting an old fashioned typed cardboard ticket.
Ffestiniog/WHR does it. The Edmondson system was fraught with issues, plus obtaining the sub-straight (card) is expensive, especially in different colours and in appropriate volume. Unfortunately, modernity is a fact of life in the heritage industry.
@@applecounty sorry, I don’t buy this. Many smaller railways still use the old style. Even if they only use them for day rover tickets. Alternatively, use a ticket like they used for galas previously (card with a photo on). This is a receipt. It’s crap.
Sorry why can't railway men dress like railway men instead of ruddy awful orange everywhere, When I was a secondman on BR we had a small fluorescent jacket to slip on if walking on the permanent way.
I could listen to that Hymek on tick over all day! -i love em..
Music to the ears!

@@ADMIRALSCORNER Thank you yes will have a look keep up the great work.
As usual the DEPG have excelled themselves as D7018 was looking splendid today for the diesel service. Good to see it had plenty of passengers to.

@@ADMIRALSCORNER I remember it sat looking out of the shed in grey primer for the diesel gala in 2017 as a none runner and stole the show in 2019.
@@PiddleInTheMarshbyMarkIreland Good memories Mark!
Yes great to see the class 35 out and about Would be great to see it used more rather than class 33 Which are always being used.

Thank you, I enjoyed the trip so far. Looking forward to Part 2.
Thank you for taking me on another train journey Mike, looks like there is a lot going on around the place .. have a lovely day, love to you both xx
Hi Sara! It was a good day out with lots of action on the rails. Just like the good old days! Best wishes to you both.
Fine looking video enjoyed and subbed.
Enjoyable trip Mike
It was! Its so good to see the WSR back and busy!
@@ADMIRALSCORNER NYMR are back but i can't say i have seen them busy as yet ...we wont travel on them until this pandemic is done with ...Dave
@@howarth004 Gosh I hope that wont be long!
@@ADMIRALSCORNER Me also .....Deb though is determined not to travel unless 100% safe ....
Looks great.
Its a credit to its maintenance team.
Are the WSR still doing ticket checks on their trains? I know it’s random but just wondering
Oh yes, as soon as the train started my ticket was checked and clipped. There and back.
@@ADMIRALSCORNEROh blimey, I would have thought they wouldn’t have done that due to safety

Orange does rather stand out as from a different era, as a modern safety feature.
