my guess is, 2025 events and scheduling is just too much for them. especially for those who travel to JP just to record 3D stuff. it's prolly why they are announcing it at end-year to not conflict or break 2025 plans. Ina's Visa issue and Biboo recently just moving to Japan made me realize that. with Ame doing well as an Indie, some of them might have seen the potential of going indie as well since they already have a decent following. . with that, I'm kinda scared of something that came up in mind. Fauna announced her graduation literally 1st day of December, seemingly giving more leeway and days for others to announce theirs.

It is now clear that the Dev_is branch was specifically created, in preparation for the change of internal direction (I don't think that from now on in the JP Branch, we will see other "numbered" generations, after the 6th, but only other subsequent generations of Dev_is): They probably already expected that some talents would not approve of the change and would choose to leave and therefore they "anticipated" their decision, finding new talents specifically eager to become Idols, and willing to carry out that specific type of work (given that many talents in other branches, don't exactly have that objective, but rather that of streaming and growing as content creators, in an environment that facilitates this and gives them the necessary notoriety. Fauna and Amelia are two examples ). And it doesn't end here, I'm afraid: I expect more graduations next year (always hoping that there are no other announcements already in December). Many fear for Gura at the moment, but she's not the only one at "risk", in my opinion.

This is actually crazy. Almost record breaking for Hololive to lose this many members. TWO IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS?! This makes me so sad, and I’m not even big on Fauna. But I know how wonderful she is. And I know and feel how much pain Saplings are feeling right now. It’s sad to lose your Oshi(s). The pain I felt when Amelia Watson left is still by far the most pain I’ve felt from a graduation EVER, with Pikamee being in second place. I know they’ve came back. That’s great. But it always feels like there is something left behind that keeps pulling me away. It’s hard to explain, but it doesn’t feel the same sometimes. Maybe because I’m just a person that hates change, especially sudden change. Her reasoning is also intriguing, as creative/management/company differences have been a big reason stated for almost all the Hololivers that have graduated this year. Some big changes must be happening, and it must not be good for some talents. Fauna sounded so sad, almost like she didn’t want to leave. I don’t want to doompost, but… it ain’t looking the best right now for Hololive.
I'm actually surprised EN turnover hasn't been higher. Most EN vtubers would be a poor fit for hololive even years ago, cover did a much better job in their talent selection than i expected.
I'll just say... I think the future of vtubing is going to be indie. And the vtuber agencies will focus more on idol-ish kind of things, making them like k-pop stars. I know it's from another company, and barely compares, but... Dokibird (known as Selen Tatsuki before leaving Nijisanji) taught me.

Very interesting, I'm curious what happens next. Wouldn't be surprised if more talents decide to go their own way as well. Not at all concerned about the talents - they are all very hardworking people, who will find their success. If they decide to go back to streaming, they have fanbases and can reconnect with them. I'm more curious about Cover, and this new direction they evidently have, with new gens being very heavily pushed to music/performances, rather than streams. I'm not convinced that fewer, more regulated streams is something the audience of a streamer is into, and there may be some issues with their "international expansion" goal if they keep pushing so hard that talents decide leaving is the better option. Either way, a lot can happen in the next few months, it will be interesting to watch what happens to Hololive.
It also helps that fans are now giving hints to find holo talents PL accounts. So many people in UA-cam comments even this video were giving hints to faunas pl account

Cover might hard-negotiate Gura's stay a little longer to protect the IP of their biggest EN talent that's why they are letting her barely stream and stay. I'm afraid of Ina announcing anything after her Concert as she did had some huge trouble with the Visa stuff which led her to even thinking of giving up. . last is Mumei because it's hard to really guess what she's thinking. though with how she was willing to stop streaming for his best friend Selen and rarely having projects like Fauna, imma bet she can easily be swayed to go Indie.
Definitely not Calli since Holo gave her much opportunity for her music. Fuwamoco are also a big no, they are literal idols IRL like Kiara and actually enjoyed being idols. I see them as the one who adheres to the strict trad idol mentality among the new members (Advent-Justice), and that could be a good thing in the eyes of Holo if Holo will steer more to the idol path rather streamer path. But I agree, I see a decent amount of chance of Ina retiring sooner or later.
