A Fine achievement lads! (though I wish you would get the right safety gear)..looks like you had a great day!...and in daylight! ...should have chucked a light weight tent in and camped on the beach!...keep having fun and posting your exploits! enjoyed every one so far! :)

Great achievement lads.. but please next time put some life vests on, carry a VHF portable marine radio (can be registered free),anchor (put in plastic bucket or padded small bag) and safety throw line and carry some water to re hydrate, plus sun block. Bear min safety kit,not trying to make you suck eggs, but when even doing simple watercraft stuff,if things go wrong least have the basics to save the day.
How did you find the currents crossing ok? Drone footage fab! Some good places around there to Snorkel, maybe next adventure, keep safe!

Everything you’ve mentioned make’s perfect sense and we were very irresponsible to go about it the way we did, luckily all went well and we really enjoyed it. The current was a struggle at some points but nothing we couldn’t handle .. thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the video 👌🏻👍🏻

How long did it take to get across? Is it possible to paddleboard across?

It was a long time ago and so can’t remember the exact amount of time but it was atleast around an hour and a half across, obviously as you can see in the video we weren’t wearing the correct safety gear on that occasion and would advise that if you attempt any water activities you prepare correctly and don’t act in the way that we did, the water needs to be respected, I don’t see why you couldn’t paddle board across, weather and stamina permitted lol.. good luck and enjoy! Many thanks for the comment and apologies for the late response

When I went round Caldey, I took my inflatable across in the bag on the shuttle boat. I inflated over there, paddle around Caldey, deflated and came back in the boat. Caldey is about 5 miles just to paddle round I think. Caldey Sound can be treacherous if you get the tides wrong, so I didn’t fancy paddling over and back

Yes, we were very lucky with the conditions, I imagine it could be really dangerous if not treated with the respect it deserves, always best to research weather conditions and wear correct PPE etc, fantastic day 👌🏻

Great achievement and nice drone footage. Did you manage to fly the drone off the kayak? I can manage it on rivers but on the sea it’s usually too dodgy to do unless it’s super calm
