Haha thanks Les, there was some brighter weather mixed in with the rain and sleet and so I was able to get some scenery shots. I knew the fishing would be hard work but always worth a crack, although I'm still thawing out 🤣. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Back in the early 1970s me and my dad went fishing at an area near Saundersfoot called Wiseman’s Bridge. We’d been fishing for about half an hour when a large dog ran into the sea chasing a gull. It was still running at 300 yards out. We realised we were fishing in about six inches of water!😂😂
Haha that's a good one Ronald, I suppose it was a good job the dog ran in as you would never have known 🤣. I haven't fished Wiseman's Bridge for a long time although I am toying with the idea of trying it again this Summer, although I'll look for the deeper part ha! Cheers for watching, much appreciated 👍👍
I remember fishing the beach in front of Kiln Park when I was a kid. We took a load of toilet paper from the camp toilets, (back then it was individual sheets like tracing paper), with a view to using it as kindling. As we couldn't find any wood to burn we set fire to the toilet paper anyway. This was fine until a gust of wind sent burning sheets of paper down the beach, quiet a site in the dark! Thanks for bring back the memory Gareth.
Haha very good David, I enjoyed reading the comment as I could picture the burning toilet paper flying down the beach! Well at least it provided you with a good bit of light, every cloud and all that! Pleased the video brought back the memory for you. Cheers 👍👍
Thank you Kev. I expected a tough session and so it was but I'm sure things will start to improve soon, now that spring is kicking in. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you mate, appreciated as always I didn't expect much to be honest but it was just nice to wet a line at a lovely location. No doubt the fishing will improve during the next few weeks or so. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you mate. I didn't expect much given the time of year but it was still nice to be out, the clear water made a welcome change! Getting a little paranoid now as no fish for a while but hopefully my luck will change soon ha! Cheers as always 👍👍
Thank you Dean, I'm pleased to hear that the video brought back some good memories for you. Lovely spot isn't it and I'm sure it will fish much better when I return in a few months time. Cheers as always 👍👍
Thanks mate. It's hard work out there at the moment but as you say, the fish should start showing up during the next few weeks. I'm starting to get a little paranoid now and so I'm hoping my luck will change soon ha! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend bud 👍👍
Hi gareth mate what another cracking video...thoroughly enjoyed the scenery Tenby is a cracking place...like mentioned it's a difficult time of year for sea fishing and I don't watch your videos to see fish mate I watch them because of the scenery and to see the lovely places you fish...keep up the good work mate...and once again thanks for the tackle 👍👍
Thanks Nathan, appreciated as always mate. I'm getting a little paranoid as I'm catching nothing at the moment but as you say, it's that time of the year. I've had some cracking sessions down at Tenby but mostly during the Autumn, I knew I would blank during this session ha! Still nice to be out though and I enjoyed having a few days off work. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Hi mate as long as you enjoyed the session mate that's all that counts and i'm sure you will have a few fish on camera soon gareth..Enjoy your weekend mate 👍 👍
Great video Gareth 😃 unlucky on the fishing but hay o that's just the way it goes sometimes as you well know. Brilliant scenery captures and can't wait for the next one 👍
Thank you Neil. Yeah that's it, very tough time of the year and I wasn't really expecting much but I still enjoyed being out. Lovely part of the coastline and I'm sure the fishing will be a little better when I return, hopefully ha! Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you Sam,, much appreciated. Yes definitely, a fish is a fish and I'm happy to catch anything these days! Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you mate, much appreciated. I didn't expect much given the time of year but I suspect it will fish a lot better in a month or so. Nice to have a little break though, just what was needed. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Haha well you never know Leighton, although I'd have to decline if it interfered with my fishing time 🤣. Getting paranoid now, 2 bites in my last 3 sessions, hopefully things will pick up soon. Cheers as always 👍👍
The great thing about your videos is that even when you blank, it's still entertaining. I also watch the Fish Locker, where the man keeps banging out specimen fish all day long, fish most of us spend our lives dreaming about, but yours is closer to reality. I too have spent hundreds of hours cold and damp on Welsh beaches staring at an unrepsonsive beachcaster tip, or pulling in crabs or clumps of weed, so I know the score. Those shots of the landscape and sky and little details make this channel special. Perhaps you could go further afield sometimes in Wales...maybe to one of those gorgeous estuaries on the west coast?
Thank you Colin, much appreciated. I try to keep it real, showing the good and the bad, hence the blanks on my channel ha! I can't rely on the fish so much these days as there's not so many about and therefore I tend to focus on the deeper side of angling (I caught more fish when I was 10 than I do now). I'd love to fish West Wales more often, although most of those marks is a 5 to 6 hour round trip for me and with working full-time etc I don't get many chances to head that way. I was down in Tenby last weekend, not sure if you've seen that one. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
This vid absolutely captures the beauty of Tenby, one of the real gems of the Welsh coast. Great video Gareth, took me back to family holidays as a kid, more decades ago than I'd like to admit!
Thanks mate, I appreciate your continued support. Lovely down there isn't it, very picturesque and I'm pleased the video brought back some nice memories for you. The fishing is really hard work at the moment, I've had two bites in my last two videos, getting paranoid now ha! Take it easy 👍👍
Thank you Ian, always a pleasure. Ah good stuff, I reckon you'll get a few fish down there in July, will hopefully be fishing well then. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Hello Gareth, well done on another great video. Great scenery shots and it goes to prove that you dont have to catch to enjoy a good day at such a great venue. Really enjoyed the video and looking forward to the next one. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Rob, it was nice to have a week away, lovely part of the world. I knew before I even put a bait in the water that the fishing would be hard going but hopefully it will be a different story when I return in a few months time. Hope all is good with you, I appreciate the continued support 👍👍
Nice one Gareth 👍 yes this time of year is slow but it will get better. Once may comes that's when I find things get really going. Thanks for a another great video, love them. All the best from South West Wales 👍
Thank you mate, appreciated as always. Yes definitely, I'm looking forward to the arrival of May. Hard work out there at the moment, the odd fish about but very patchy. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Paul, pleased to hear that you enjoyed the video. Yes I like the Harbour wall too, I wanted to fish it but the wind was a bit too strong that side. I'll hopefully be back down there in a couple of months and no doubt the fishing will be much better then. Have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you Stephen, it was a nice break, lovely part of the coastline. I didn't expect to catch anything to be honest given the time of year but I couldn't resist wetting a line ha, I guess there's always that chance. Hope all is good with you, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you Carl, always appreciated. Hard work out there at the moment but hopefully things will start to improve soon now that spring is kicking in. Nice to be out though and I enjoyed the break. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Gareth. Ah yes, having family in Saundersfoot will come in very handy but yeah, definitely wait until the Summer ha! I'm still thawing out from this session, it was a cold one! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Paul, appreciated as always. I didn't expect much to be honest given the time of year but I'll hopefully be back down there in a few months time. Was just nice to have a week off work. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Thank you Kevin. Certainly is quiet out there at the moment but things should start to improve soon and hopefully my luck will change ha! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Phil. Lovely part of the world isn't it, that stretch of coastline is stunning. The fishing is hard work at the moment but it should start to improve during the next few weeks. I enjoy it regardless though. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
The smile in my face during that intro, amazing! Great video as always mate. Tenby was my Dads favourite place to go with my mum for breaks, he’d take her there 3 or 4 times a year. The intro made me think of him. Looks a lovely mark, shame there was no fish but like you said its that time of the year. Theres been a lot of rays being caught off the knap now so it’s starting to pick up in barry at last. All the best Gar and look forward to the next video 🎣
Thank you Scott, I'm pleased to hear that the video brought back some good memories for you, no doubt your mum and dad had some great times there over the years. Lovely place isn't it, that part of the coastline is impressive. I fully expected a blank to be honest given the time of year and weather conditions but I still enjoyed it. If I return in a couple of months I'm sure the fishing will be a lot better, I've had some good fish down there over the years. Good to hear that things are picking up down Barry, I'll hopefully be back down there within the next few weeks. Cheers mate, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you John. I'm not catching much at the moment but I never do at this time of the year. Lovely part of the world down there and I enjoyed wetting a line for a few hours. Cheers as always, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you Roger. I didn't expect much given the time of year but hopefully it will be a different story when I return in a couple of months time. Have a good weekend 👍👍
Great video as always mate ....What a backdrop !! Brings back fond memories of family holidays around there ,,Tenby,Amroth,Saunderfoot and Lydstep..We used to tow my brothers little fibreglass dinghy down there all the way fro the midlands...Many thanks as always...
Thank you Mark, pleased that the video brought back some good memories for you. Lovely part of the world isn't it, has the feel good factor and you usually come away feeling a little more invigorated. Ha I bet you had some good fun in the dinghy, I guess it's perfect down there for that sort of activity. A tough session but it's what I expected given the time of year and current weather conditions but I shall return. Cheers as always, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thanks mate, always appreciated. Yeah lovely down there isn't it, just a nice place to be. I didn't expect much to be honest given the time of year but it will hopefully be a different story when I return in a few months time. Enjoy the weekend mate 👍👍
Yeah that's it James, better than being stuck in work. I didn't expect the fishing to.be productive given the time of year but I'll hopefully be back down there soon for another crack. Cheers as always 👍👍
I have fished that mark many times over the years. It always seemed best in the summer, never done any good in winter and spring. Great video though, Gav. I had 2 good bass on the North beach on a cold winters November night -7, right next to gosger rock. Atb mate.
Yes I agree mate, not that productive at this time of the year, just wanted to give it a go as I was there for the week. Well done on the 2 Bass, nice one. I do like the North Beach, something about it and I'm looking forward to fishing it again. Cheers as always 👍👍
Great video,I’m from haverfordwest and my rule of thumb is second neep tide in may that’s when the summer fish have arrived, never the less I enjoyed your trip,
Thank you Andrew, I shall bear that in mind. I fully expected a blank to be honest given the time of year but I guess it's always worth a go. I'm hoping to return in May and no doubt it will be a lot better then. Have a good weekend 👍👍
WOW what a fantastic video. A truly wonderful intro to it. And a stunning place with beautiful views. Thank you for taking the time to post them. Already looking forward to seeing more. Regards to the family
Thank you Bob, that's nice of you to say. I'm pleased to hear that you look forward to the videos, hopefully more to come. I didn't expect much given the time of year but it was still nice to be out fishing at such a beautiful location. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you for the donation Christopher, it is very much appreciated. It will go towards a new camera which I will hopefully purchase later this year. Have a good weekend 👍👍
ahh mate that was a great video gareth , hope you and the family are well chap. tenby is such a nice place i must get up there again soon , your right gareth fishing is hard going at the moment but in a few weeks you will be busy again , take care mate see you soon on a beach near you
Thank you Tony, glad you enjoyed. It certainly is a lovely place, that part of the coastline is pretty special and it was nice to have a little break. I didn't expect to catch anything given the time of year but as you say, things should start moving again in a few weeks time. I'm hoping to return in May and the fishing there should be quite good then. Hope all is good with you and the family, take it easy mate 👍👍
Sounds good bud, a proper fun session that. I'm looking forward to fishing it again in a couple of months time, should fish a lot better then. Cheers 👍👍
Another great video thanks Gareth. Love Tenby, Saundersfoot,Wisemans etc it's a lovely part of the world. 10 out of 10 for effort but the fish gods didn't want to reward you today. Brilliant photography as always fella and thanks for sharing.
Thank you Richard. Yeah lovely part of the coastline isn't it, always something to see. I didn't expect much to be honest given the time of year and weather conditions but I guess it was worth a try, was just nice being out there. No doubt things will improve shortly and my luck will hopefully change ha! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
You captured the scenery like a pro, and your correct about the weather forecasts they are all over the place the more accurate they try to be the further away the forecasters seem to be. It’s quiet out there at the moment wont be long before it picks up though.🎣🎣🎣
Thank you Dorian, appreciated as always. Yes that's it, the weather forecast seemed to be more accurate in the 80's when I was a kid, not sure what's happened. Another tough session but it was a nice week away, lovely part of the coastline there and no doubt things will pick up soon now that spring is kicking in. Have a good weekend 👍👍
Unlucky with the fish today Gareth but still a cracking video loved it , and like you say your out enjoying it , have a good weekend looking forward to the next video , Cheers.
Thank you Philip, appreciated as always. Yeah I didn't expect much to be honest given the time of year but it was good to wet a line at such a beautiful spot. Hopefully my luck will change soon ha! Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Hi gareth you ok pal, unlucky on your session ,i'm sure you will be bk amongst the fish soon. Hope you had a great tine with the family. All the best from GRIMSBY.
I'm ok thanks Carl, hope you're doing ok mate. Really hard work out there at the moment but yeah, things will hopefully start to improve during the coming weeks. We had a lovely time thanks mate, nice break. Have a good weekend 👍👍
Awesome as always, you old fool 🤣🤣🤣 I do love that place, tough one all round at the moment brother, stay safe buddy love to Cath and all, see you on the rocks soon X
Thank you Matt (pink rod owner). Lovely down there isn't it, just taking a walk along the beach on an early morning usually does the trick. I don't think anyone caught a fish down there last week but will hopefully improve during the next few weeks. Hope all is well with the family, see you on the pebbles 😍👍
Sounds great Andy, I'm sure you'll have an enjoyable time. I've never been to Great Yarmouth but it's on my to-do list, I think the fishing can be very good there! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
You're welcome Paul. Not catching many fish at the moment but then again I never do at this time of the year. Still nice to be out there though. Have a good weekend 👍👍
Hi Gareth, been waiting for this video since you said you were going to Tenby in the last video ,have going there for over fifty years man and boy, will be doing so again this year, will fish both beaches ,the rocks by the old lifeboat station and under the newer one ,there's some good fishing in the summer months.Loved the scenery shots brings back some nice memories.Shame about the blank ,but as you said it's that time of year, hope to see another video from there soon. All the best.
Thank you David, appreciated as always and I'm pleased the video brought back some nice memories for you. Lovely place isn't it, that part of the coastline is quite special. I didn't expect to catch anything to be honest given the time of year but it was still nice being out, although I'm still thawing out ha! I'm looking forward to trying it again in a couple of months and no doubt you will have some good fishing when you're down there next. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
@@riversidewithme Thinking about the old lifeboat station , in the late 60s when it was still a working as as a lifeboat station you could fish off the slipway and they would ring a bell when the boat was being launched so the anglers could move out of the way but that was stopped some years later for health and safety reasons, can’t think why haha. All the best.
Some cracking scenery even if there wasn't any fish around. It would be interesting to revisit this area later in the year when there's some fish around. All the best Gordon.
Thank you Gordon, much appreciated. A tough session but it was nice to have a few days off work. Yes I agree, I plan on returning around May and the fishing should be a lot better then. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Another great upload. Some awesome footage there Gareth. My old man told me they used go bassing down there off that mark back in the day. I'm sure you'll get a few next time you fish. I've been struggling of late to be honest really slow. Always look forward to your uploads mate. All the best👍👍🎣🎣🙏🙏
Thanks Dylan. Ah that's interesting, although not surprising as that spot does look very Bassy. I didn't expect to catch anything given the time of year but I have had some good sessions down at Tenby in the past, particularly during autumn. Yeah same up here, really slow, I've had two bites in two sessions, hoping things will improve soon, getting paranoid now ha! Cheers bud, take it easy 👍👍❤️❤️
Not to worry Gareth. You will live to fish another day haha!! I have only been to Tenby once but it created so many memories for me. We stayed in a hotel on top of one of the hills there which had views right across the harbour. I remember spending hours just looking at the scenery and feeling completely at peace with the world. Thanks for the opening scenes of Tenby. It brought back so many memories. See you next time.
Thank you David. I remember you saying that you enjoyed your stay at Tenby and I'm pleased the video brought back the good memories for you. Lovely place isn't it, just looking out of the window makes you feel good, that stretch of coastline is quite special. I expected a quiet session to be honest, given the time of year and the current arctic blast but if I return in a couple of months, it should be a lot better. I've had some good success over on the North beach and so I'll give that another bash. Cheers as always, have a good weekend 👍👍
Yes very true that mate, not much we can do if they're not about. Things will hopefully start to improve during the coming weeks. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Gavin, much appreciated. I didn't expect much really given the time of year but it will hopefully be a different story when I return in a few months time. I'm sure you'll get a few when you give it a go. Cheers 👍👍
Thank you Paul, we had a nice week away thanks, got back earlier today. Yeah that's it, the fishing is never easy at this time of the year but I guess there's always next time. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you William. Yeah lovely part of the world isn't it, just nice being there. I expected a quiet session to be honest but hopefully things will be different when I return in a couple of months. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Hi Gareth just catching up with your vids good to see you at peterstone and the gout where did you park tough session pleasure to watch your vids the effort you put in massive respect Tenby one of my favourite places you had a good go dosent matter if you dont catch just to be out there doing it your filming etc magic your inspiring people to get out there and do a bit looking forward to the next one pleasure to watch hope you had a nice break in Tenby all the best😁🎣👍🏻
Thank you Paul, I appreciate the words of support. The fishing is hard work at the moment but it's still nice being out there, I guess we can only but try. When I fished Peterstone I deliberately parked way up at St Brides and walked down as I'm trying to get fit again. Although you can also park a lot closer, access is via the golf club and onto the public road/bridleway. Yes I enjoyed the break thanks, nice to have a week away, lovely part of the world isn't it. I'll hopefully be back down there around May time, that's the plan anyway. Back to work this week unfortunately, not a nice thought ha! Hope all is good with you, cheers as always 👍👍
Enjoyed that one again, looked absolutely stunning there. Always hard this time of year, but like you say … you got to be in it to win it , won’t catch them from your armchair 😅. Fair play you stuck it out in the cold wind . Look forward to the next one 👍👍👍
Thank you Neil. Yeah that stretch of coastline is quite special, just being there can make you feel good. I expected a blank to be honest given the time of year and weather but it was still nice to wet a line, although I am still thawing out ha! The morning after I filmed this it was snowing but then it quickly turned to sleet. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Great stuff Gareth. You really have done Tenby proud with the shots you have added. I know what you are saying about prices. Last year a place we go to in Aberporth was £800.....This year £1500 for a week!!! The problem is no-one is renting them, the booking site has absolutely loads of free dates through the summer (normally if you do not get in early, you won't get in) yet, the owners won't reduce prices, even to their regulars who have been going year after year.....sadly, there is no loyalty like there was back in the day. It's strange. It also has a knock on to local business who loose out as well. Like you say....where will it end? Needless to say Aberporth will be missed by us this year sadly...just cannot justify paying those prices.
Thank you mate. I knew the fishing would be poor given the time of year but it was nice to have a week away and not have to worry about work. Yeah the prices are getting ridiculous now, we were only able to go as the wife's parents came with us and therefore we split the cost 50/50. Shame you won't be going to Aberporth but I don't blame you, that sort of price cannot be justified, it's daylight robbery. I appreciate they have higher energy costs etc but even so, it's not right. As you say, loyalty has gone out of the window, money does the talking nowadays. Hopefully you can find an alternative location and still get away for a break. Cheers as always, 👍👍
Thank you Neil, I appreciate it and I'm pleased that the video brought back some nice memories for you. I didn't expect to catch much given the time of year but it was still nice to be out. Ha yes, Dad is to blame for my fishing addiction, we used to go weekly back in the day, lots of great memories. Cheers for watching, have a nice weekend 👍👍
A cracking video that Gareth, You made the place look stunning pal, as for the fishing as you said, it’s that time of the year, very hit and miss, mostly miss 😂 Nevertheless you put together a very good video Nice one pal 👍👍
Thank you Nigel. Yeah Tenby is a lovely part of the world, coastline there is impressive. To be honest I knew before I cast out that it would probably be a blank but I guess it's always worth a crack. Very patchy time of the year as you say, will hopefully pick up soon now that Spring is starting to kick in. Cheers mate, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Great video as always, loved every second. I’ve been out twice over the last ten days and not had a touch, but hey, if fish were guaranteed it would be called catching instead of fishing lol, as long as we’re out enjoying the fresh air and the views it’s all good, enjoy the break 👍
Thank you mate, always a pleasure. Yeah that's it, not all about catching fish is it, just nice being out there, taking it all in. It was a nice break thanks, I got back this afternoon. Well now that Spring has officially kicked in, I'm sure that the fishing will pick up and no doubt our luck will change ha! Have a good weekend 👍👍
What a fantastic area Pembrokeshire is and what a great job you’ve done on capturing the scenery fair play Gareth. As always it’s nice to see you getting out there and giving it a bash and even getting a few bites is great to see at this time of year. A question regarding the upper channel so around Newport and further up, when does the fishing start to turn around and what species do you see popping up first? Cheers for the effort you put into the videos as always Gareth and hope the time away is enjoyable mate, well deserved
Thank you Finley, I appreciate it. It was nice to have a week off work, nice part of the world is Tenby. I didn't expect to catch much given the time of year but hopefully it will be a different story when I return in a few months, should be much better then. In my experience, the fishing around Newport and the upper channel area tends to improve from early April onwards. The Congers and Thornback Ray tend to show up first, followed by Bass and then Sole from May onwards. Last year there was a run of spring Codling around Newport, they hung around until early May. It differs every year to be honest, I guess weather and water temperature are two factors which can affect things but yeah, generally speaking early April it should improve, or even later this month. Cheers as always, have a good week 👍👍
@@riversidewithme That'll definitely be interesting to see what happens come summer time at that mark for sure looks "fishy" as i would describe it. Well I hope the warmer temperatures roll in soon as i'm looking forward to the upper channel becoming a bit more productive, definitely want a ray this year. cheers for the advice as always Gareth have a good week mate.
You're definitely right Gareth, not a good time of year mate. Another month or so you would've maybe caught a nice spring bass as I have there a few times in years gone by but anywhere down west is tough during winter & early spring. Had a caravan at pendine for 20 years & loved the bass fishing in the surf. Never mind mate, next time eh?
Yeah that's it Alan, always super tough at this time of the year, I can't ever remember doing well during early March. Bet that was fun down at Pendine, I haven't fished down there for a little while and so I need to give it another go this Summer. Indeed, always next time, my luck is due to change soon, maybe ha! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
@@riversidewithme Been thinking of going down myself for maybe a weekend or even a week in the summer. It's been a while for me so well overdue a session or two. Thanks mate you have a good one too.
For me sessions like this usually end with me grabbing a kebab on the way home...I eat lots of kebabs😂. Great video and a lovely looking place, on to the next session👍
Haha I don't blame you David, we need something nice to make it all feel better after a tough session. I'm more of a pie and chips man myself although everything was closed by the time I packed up, gutting! Cheers for watching, see you on the next one 👍👍
Excellent Gareth! The last time I was in Tenby, I fell down a hole and ended up stuck there in the middle of the night with an OWL! 🦉 It was quite unexpected as I am a qualified rambling hiker!
I'm sorry to hear that Rowley, it must have been quite a miserable experience. I am fully aware that you're a qualified rambling hiker although there is no doubt whatsoever that you were very very drunk! Please be more responsible next time! Cheers 👍👍
Absolutely love Tenby, fishing or not, one of the best places in the UK in my opinion. Unlucky with the fishing Gareth but as you say, it’s a funny time of the year for sea fishing. Every blank session brings you one step closer to success. ( I wish )
Yes I agree Wayne, it's a lovely part of the world and it was a nice week away. I kinda knew the fishing would be poor given the time of year but always nice to wet a line, had some nice fish down there in the past. Hope the new job is going well, have a good weekend 👍👍
No fish....lets be honest there often isnt. But lovely vid.Great colours and really conveys the atmosphere of why, some of us at least,go fishing. Will definitely subscribe for more✌️
Thank you for subscribing, much appreciated. Yes that's it, the seas are not as prolific as they once were but it's just nice to spend a few hours next to the water, taking it all in. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Ah nice, the Wye Valley is very picturesque. Not much in the way of sea fishing but the River Wye is always a popular choice. There's a website called the Fishing Passport and that should provide you with the information you need. Cheers 👍👍
Its no worries, me and a freind qent fishing my local lake, and it rain from start.. the carp were very mobile.. but no fish were feeding.. coild not even scratch a perch out with worms.. brian even freelined a big chunk of bread onto the heads of a shoal of ten carp near the surface.. and they just snubbed it along with the rest of the loose bread and groundbaits.. even the bream were not feeding.. in the end even we called it quits. And i rarly ever blow the whistle early.. but as i say with each blank.. a better day could be next session.. so friday its barry docks.. i hear the new welsh record flounder may still be inside after it was accidently reaslsed.. 🥰
Unlucky on the lake session bud, I think all types of fishing have gone quiet at the moment but as you say, it can only get better. I've had two blanks on the trot and so my luck is due to change soon ha! Ah that's interesting about the Welsh record Flounder, must be quite a chunk. I like Barry docks as I guess you never quite know what may take the bait, lots of different species and good fun too. Hope you catch a few and tight lines, cheers! 👍👍
Hi Gareth great video yet again mate love your content, I am currently in Tenby myself staying on that road where you done the still shot of the harbour boats.... having a few days away from hometown port talbot. I have brought my lure fishing gear with me instead of all my main beach gear. I am wondering which point you are on is it the one underneath the band stand or the one on the island with building on top please?
Thank you Dale, much appreciated. Ah nice one, hope you enjoy your break. So in this video I was directly underneath the band stand, it's one of my favourite Tenby marks. Hope you get some action on the lure rod, that would be good. There was a Cormorant diving to my left and so there must have been a few fish out there. Cheers and tight lines 👍👍
Cheers Gar, yeah it's been beautiful the views are so therapeutic i have spent most of the time in the bay window looking at the sea haha.... Will give it a go later not holding out much hope with fishing being slow ATM but you never know 🎣😃
@@riversidewithme I go to kiln Park for a week once a year, normally do the beach in the dark and fish tide out for a bit then make my way over to Giltar and have a few hours there over low..
Try trubby dubby or some groundbait might increase your catch rate of a mark fishing the tide in I've personally found it increases interest and whatever is about gets pulled to the baited hooks
Thanks Ian, will give that a try. I've been burying my old bait in the sand/mud before the start of the sessions but that's not done much as of yet, although I think the groundbait method could attract some fish. Cheers 👍👍
Hi Gar, just wondering why you started off with plane leds instead of grippers? I normally just bang a straight gripper on but that might just be me being a novice !
Hi Jay, I usually always start with a gripper myself but down at this spot in the video there's not much movement. I put a gripper on because the wind got strong and the swell was moving the weights around. But yeah, gripper for me 99 percent of the time 👍👍
I'm on me second blank on the trot but my boy caught a plaice and we look at it as a team effort I went to near by Saundersfoot once the locals told me there was a good bass mark down the road something bridge I did catch one but only small once again thanks for the Friday wind down
Thanks John, appreciated as always. Good to hear that your boy had a Plaice, nice one. I'll be trying for them down at the Gower shortly. Ah yes, sounds like you're talking about Wisemans Bridge, a nice mark although I haven't fished it for years. Another tough session but it was nice to get away for a few days. Have a good weekend 👍👍
I'm not too sure sorry bud as I'm not from the area (Newport/Barry/Porthcawl are my home waters) There will be forums on the internet that should give you that information. I think there's a guy called Benjamin Griffiths on UA-cam and he's from down that way, maybe worth looking at some of his videos. And another one called Fish Tales. Cheers
The North beach is a nice easy one, fishing off the sand itself. Although not a spot for huge tides as you'll get pushed up against the wall but small/medium tides are fine. Your best bet though would be to fish off the harbour wall...easy access, easy fishing and no worries about tide size 👍
Wow what an intro lovely job you will have Tenby council asking you to do holiday videos as always fantastic 😀
Fantastic again kept them coming
Haha thanks Les, there was some brighter weather mixed in with the rain and sleet and so I was able to get some scenery shots. I knew the fishing would be hard work but always worth a crack, although I'm still thawing out 🤣. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Alan. Another tough session but was nice to have a week away, I enjoyed the break. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Best B-Roll in the business!!!
Thanks Ian. That's why I miss so many fish as I'm usually too busy filming the scenery etc ha! Cheers 👍👍
Brilliant footage as always thank you👍
Back in the early 1970s me and my dad went fishing at an area near Saundersfoot called Wiseman’s Bridge.
Great video too as always
Cheers mate. Didn't expect much given the time of year but it was nice to get away for a few days 👍👍
Cheers 👍👍
Cracking video Gareth well done again👍
Thank you Kev. I expected a tough session and so it was but I'm sure things will start to improve soon, now that spring is kicking in. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Nice one gareth for another great vid as always respect from south wales injoy your holiday great filming aswell.👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you mate, appreciated as always I didn't expect much to be honest but it was just nice to wet a line at a lovely location. No doubt the fishing will improve during the next few weeks or so. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Hi Gareth. Well done braving the cold at least it was a change of scenery despite the blank. Keep ‘em coming mate!
Thank you mate. I didn't expect much given the time of year but it was still nice to be out, the clear water made a welcome change! Getting a little paranoid now as no fish for a while but hopefully my luck will change soon ha! Cheers as always 👍👍
Another great video. Me and my son have had some cracking bass from that very spot under the bandstand. Brings back memories.
Thank you Dean, I'm pleased to hear that the video brought back some good memories for you. Lovely spot isn't it and I'm sure it will fish much better when I return in a few months time. Cheers as always 👍👍
Top video again Gareth, your stills and video clips of the surrounding area are great mate, the fish will be back soon 🎣🎣appreciate your efforts bud
Thanks mate. It's hard work out there at the moment but as you say, the fish should start showing up during the next few weeks. I'm starting to get a little paranoid now and so I'm hoping my luck will change soon ha! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend bud 👍👍
Great video Gareth, well done for sticking it out.
Thank you Richard, I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to going back in a couple of months time, will hopefully have some better luck then. Cheers 👍👍
Your such an honest genuine person who loves to fish
Great video Gareth 😃 unlucky on the fishing but hay o that's just the way it goes sometimes as you well know. Brilliant scenery captures and can't wait for the next one 👍
Thank you Neil. Yeah that's it, very tough time of the year and I wasn't really expecting much but I still enjoyed being out. Lovely part of the coastline and I'm sure the fishing will be a little better when I return, hopefully ha! Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Beautifull place my parents took me there when I was 6 back in the glorious 60,s
Another great vid gar I went out down the knap yesterday only had 1 whiting lol but a fish is a fish keep up the great vids
Thank you Sam,, much appreciated. Yes definitely, a fish is a fish and I'm happy to catch anything these days! Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Always a good watch with lots or useful info on he mark/general area
Thank you mate, much appreciated. I didn't expect much given the time of year but I suspect it will fish a lot better in a month or so. Nice to have a little break though, just what was needed. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Stunning video Gareth I wouldn't be surprised if Tenby tourist board get in touch 💯👍👍
Another cracking video gareth I’ll be fishing tenby in July when I’m in kiln park 🎣🎣
Great video I really enjoyed watching it. I fish the harbour had some cracking fish in the past Huss, Dabs, Whiting, small Thorneback Rays.
Stunning venue. Great vid.
Thanks Rick. When I return in a few months time it will hopefully be a different story ha! Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Beautiful video Gareth really enjoyed it, Tenby looks lovely hope you enjoyed your Holiday mate and thanks so much for sharing, take care Gareth 👍🎣🎣
Thank you Stephen, it was a nice break, lovely part of the coastline. I didn't expect to catch anything to be honest given the time of year but I couldn't resist wetting a line ha, I guess there's always that chance. Hope all is good with you, have a good weekend 👍👍
Another great edit m8 👌keep up the good work really enjoy these 😎
Thank you Carl, always appreciated. Hard work out there at the moment but hopefully things will start to improve soon now that spring is kicking in. Nice to be out though and I enjoyed the break. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Great video gareth , I have family in Saundersfoot but haven't been there for years perhaps it's time for a visit. Well maybe in the summer lol
Thank you Gareth. Ah yes, having family in Saundersfoot will come in very handy but yeah, definitely wait until the Summer ha! I'm still thawing out from this session, it was a cold one! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Another great video Gareth. Shame about the lack of fish but it is that time of year. Keep it up mate
Thank you Paul, appreciated as always. I didn't expect much to be honest given the time of year but I'll hopefully be back down there in a few months time. Was just nice to have a week off work. Cheers for watching 👍👍

Thank you Phil. Lovely part of the world isn't it, that stretch of coastline is stunning. The fishing is hard work at the moment but it should start to improve during the next few weeks. I enjoy it regardless though. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Great to see you out Gareth
Thanks Martyn. I expected a tough session to be honest but it was still nice to be out, lovely part of the world. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Great video Gareth its just that time of year bud keep up good work will pay off
Yes you're right there mate, hard going at the moment but I'm sure things will pick up during the coming weeks. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Absolutely fantastic bit of filming Gareth.. really enjoyed the scenery shots all through. Massive thanks
Thank you John. I'm not catching much at the moment but I never do at this time of the year. Lovely part of the world down there and I enjoyed wetting a line for a few hours. Cheers as always, have a good weekend 👍👍
No fish but once again a cracking effort Gareth. The videos are getting better and better... many thanks.
Well done Gareth, beautiful place tenby had a good makrel trip there last summer 🎣🎣keep them coming mate videos are brill👍
Thanks mate, always appreciated. Yeah lovely down there isn't it, just a nice place to be. I didn't expect much to be honest given the time of year but it will hopefully be a different story when I return in a few months time. Enjoy the weekend mate 👍👍
Hard going Gareth, At least you got plenty of fresh air.👍
Have a good weekend 👍👍
nice vid mate keep up the good work well done
Thank you Laurance, appreciated as always. A tough session but it's what I expected to be honest, was just nice being out there. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thanks
Thanks for the vid. I do a lot of fishing off freshwater east not far from you. Thanks again for knowledge of where to go. 7:21
You're welcome Mark and thank you for the comment. I'll hopefully be returning to Tenby shortly to give it another go. Cheers 👍👍
I fisht that Mark buddy 15 years ago had 2 nice Bass about 3 pounds and a loud ov dog fish have a good one Butty
@@riversidewithme Out again tomorrow (Thursday the 16th) after some Trout , season started last Sunday over here but I am fully expecting to Blank😁😁

Thank you Stephen. Certainly is a lovely place, that stretch of coastline is impressive. Cheers as always 👍👍
Great stuff and put to shame the pack up and leave ones after only a few hours, dedication.
Thank you Jeff, it was certainly a tough one. I didn't expect much given the time of year but I guess it was worth a try.
@@riversidewithme Ha ha love it lol
Another great video gareth I’ve managed a 4 night break in July in gt yarmouth sleeps 4 for 214 pound so I’ll be giving north beach a go thanks again
Sounds great Andy, I'm sure you'll have an enjoyable time. I've never been to Great Yarmouth but it's on my to-do list, I think the fishing can be very good there! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you for the video Gary and take care
You're welcome Paul. Not catching many fish at the moment but then again I never do at this time of the year. Still nice to be out there though. Have a good weekend 👍👍
@Riverside with Me you have a good weekend mate 👍
@@davidjubin2168 Haha yes, I wonder why! Bet that used to get interesting at times! 👍
@@riversidewithme You have a good weekend too.
Fantastic video Gareth as always, you tried your best and that is all you can do. If the fish are not there, you can not catch them.
Yes very true that mate, not much we can do if they're not about. Things will hopefully start to improve during the coming weeks. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Great video lovely place usto go Tenby Harbour as a kid. Never fished up there tho. But definitely will this year on my species hunt
Thank you Gavin, much appreciated. I didn't expect much really given the time of year but it will hopefully be a different story when I return in a few months time. I'm sure you'll get a few when you give it a go. Cheers 👍👍
Excellent film Gar. I hope you and the family enjoyed the break. As you say, this is a very difficult time of year for the fishing 🎣
Thank you Paul, we had a nice week away thanks, got back earlier today. Yeah that's it, the fishing is never easy at this time of the year but I guess there's always next time. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
I love Tenby i have had some good fish from that mark really enjoyed vid tight lights pal
Thank you William. Yeah lovely part of the world isn't it, just nice being there. I expected a quiet session to be honest but hopefully things will be different when I return in a couple of months. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Hi pal thank you for your reply me and my best pal can’t wait two get out tope and bass fishing on the gower peninsula 👍
Unlucky on the blank Ga but a lovely day for it.
Thanks David. I expected a blank to be honest given the time of year but it was still nice to be out there. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍
@@riversidewithme dont forget my offer
Unlucky on the blank but a stunning place to fish some great scenery better luck next time
Thanks mate, appreciated as always. Hopefully it will be a different story when I return in a few months time. Cheers 👍👍
Well thanks to your dad otherwise we wouldn't have such wonderful viewing
Thank you Neil, I appreciate it and I'm pleased that the video brought back some nice memories for you. I didn't expect to catch much given the time of year but it was still nice to be out. Ha yes, Dad is to blame for my fishing addiction, we used to go weekly back in the day, lots of great memories. Cheers for watching, have a nice weekend 👍👍
A cracking video that Gareth,
You made the place look stunning pal, as for the fishing as you said, it’s that time of the year, very hit and miss, mostly miss 😂
Nevertheless you put together a very good video
Nice one pal 👍👍
Thank you Nigel. Yeah Tenby is a lovely part of the world, coastline there is impressive. To be honest I knew before I cast out that it would probably be a blank but I guess it's always worth a crack. Very patchy time of the year as you say, will hopefully pick up soon now that Spring is starting to kick in. Cheers mate, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Ive got a caravan in saundersfoot fished loads of times over the years never had much
Ah nice, I do like Saundersfoot, although I've done much fishing there.
Live not far from there, some excellent fishing spots there.
There certainly are, I'm hoping to be back down there in a few months time. Cheers 👍👍
@@riversidewithme thats cool, the bandstand be busy come holiday season with boats in and out, but some great spots north beach and south beach.
@@Labraxsquad20 Thank you. I like the north beach, that's probably my favourite Tenby spot 👍
It was quite unexpected as I am a qualified rambling hiker!
I'm sorry to hear that Rowley, it must have been quite a miserable experience. I am fully aware that you're a qualified rambling hiker although there is no doubt whatsoever that you were very very drunk! Please be more responsible next time! Cheers 👍👍
@Riverside with Me 🤣🤣🤣 Outstanding response, my friend!👍👍👍
@@JohnnyLudlow Thank you Sir! 👍
@@riversidewithme Jobs amazing thanks Gareth, first time I’ve ever looked forward to going to work. Hope that your ventures are paying off too
@@waynehiggs7335Good stuff, I'm pleased for you. I wish I looked forward to going to work, I've yet to experience that feeling ha 👍
Off to the wye valley next weekend any recommendations for the best places to go up there? 😃
Will give it a go later not holding out much hope with fishing being slow ATM but you never know 🎣😃
Hi! I'm Ed Winchester!
🤣🤣...bring back the Fast Show, that's what I say! Cheers 👍👍
@Riverside with Me Had to be done mate! I could not resist it! 🤣🤣🤣
Giltar point has always been best for me..
Yes I like that mark too and I'll probably fish it when I return in a couple of months. Cheers 👍👍
But yeah, gripper for me 99 percent of the time 👍👍
Where's the cushion on your box? First thing I bought!
Ha I would get it too dirty and when I'm filming I don't really have much time to sit down! Cheers 👍👍
Moving to the area soon any good low water up spots
I'm not too sure sorry bud as I'm not from the area (Newport/Barry/Porthcawl are my home waters) There will be forums on the internet that should give you that information. I think there's a guy called Benjamin Griffiths on UA-cam and he's from down that way, maybe worth looking at some of his videos. And another one called Fish Tales. Cheers
@@riversidewithme same here buddy I'm Swansea area at moment
I fish Ogmore deeps a far bit
Once we are sorted we will have to do a joint video mate
Is it possible to fish from the beach there or anywhere near you can recommend a spot with easy access for an old man 😂
The North beach is a nice easy one, fishing off the sand itself. Although not a spot for huge tides as you'll get pushed up against the wall but small/medium tides are fine. Your best bet though would be to fish off the harbour wall...easy access, easy fishing and no worries about tide size 👍
Cefin sidan is fishing well for bass and flounders atm and pendine get down there pal
Thanks Nathan. When I get time I'll pop down there as it's a bit of a trek for me. Hopefully fishing during the week. Cheers 👍👍
Joys of angling these days.. the trawlers have over fished the oceans and fish stocks are just to low
Yes I fully agree mate, it's disgraceful. I can't see it stopping anytime soon and that's the worrying thing. Cheers 👍👍
making me want to get out
Go for it, although I'm still thawing out and so you might want to wait until it gets a little warmer haha. Cheers as always 👍👍
