After all that he has been through, seeing Jay Halstead finally getting his happiness is the best thing ever. After all the heartaches and pain he finally found someone who loves and adores him. He found someone who fought for him, supported him and encouraged him when he was at his lowest. He found a constant in his life when he wasn’t expecting it. He fell in love without expecting it, you could say he fell in love with Hailey like he was falling asleep.

2 of the most reserved people that exist teaching us how it is to find true love and put aside past fears and doubts to be able to completely surrender to that wonderful feeling. Upstead is pure love! I love this scene.
They're AMAZING. Their development is literally the best part of the show, and I'm glad that the writers are giving them the attention they deserve!
Upstead is one of the best written ships in this One Chicago franchise. I am glad Jay confirmed what we as fans have known all along about how much he's loved Hailey. You could tell Jay had feelings for Hailey seasons ago so it comes as no surprise he sees a future with her. I love that he proposed because he is an old fashioned guy wanting to get down on one knee for the woman he loves. Jay and Hailey are proving they can weather this storm together, they are not going to give up on each other. It makes you want to root even harder for them.
He was in love with her seasons ago? When she was screwing Adam? Ew. That would make Jay a desperate, pathetic fool.
They are both the most annoying characters on the show 😂

This scene was beautiful. YEARS. Jay Halstead has known for Y.E.A.R.S. that he has loved Hailey Upton. Well, we all know that Hailey has loved him for just as long. They are a well written relationship. Awesome slow burn. Bumps and wild turns aside, they keep by each other. I love them. Tracy & Jesse do an AH-MAZING portraying their emotions.
A perfect moment to capture their mutual respect. Love these two actors and characters. Pd is by far my favorite of the 3 hours every Wednesday and that’s a credit to the excellent cast and characters they portray.
This scene just pulls at the heartstrings. It was well done, and they are such good actors being able to work off of each other so well.

Everything about this was perfect. They truly did get engaged doing ‘their thing that works’. Yup, still crying about that two months later. Their entire love story is just one of the most beautiful and realistic relationships I have ever seen on television. I love them so much!!! And I love how much these two love each other. They don’t need a lot (as this proposal proves) they just need each other. And now they’re gonna be together forever. I’m so happy I could cry.

Yes the rest of the season was quite intense for them, and they’ve a lot to figure out with this whole Roy case. But Upstead is solid. They got each other’s six, forever. They’re good and they’re always gonna be good. And I can’t wait to see more cute and domestic scenes like this one with these two in the future! Please, I love seeing them in (their new) home, building their life together. It’s my new favorite thing in this world.
