- Our epic sunrise hike up Pacaya Volcano in Guatemala after the May 2021 eruption. We witnessed HUGE lava flows and even saw Volcán Fuego erupting in the distance next to Volcán Acatenango. We roasted marshmallows over the lava and got so close Paul's shoe melted!

It was crazy watching my friends la abuela remove ash from her roof top after these things erupt and charred the city. Thankfully it doesn’t happen often but when it does- it’s truly traumatizing for the local and natives.

It was just after San Vicente Pacaya at the Centro de Visitantes for the national park, I believe :)
