    I'm an appliance technician... Just wanted to give you some tips so you're washer last longer... Speed wash/quick wash is only ment for a super small loads. Like some clothes you really wanna wear but are dirty it's not meant for a full load. If you wash denim/ towels/ or jackets (anything heavy) make sure you use the heavy/bulky/large setting it makes the spin cycle slower and keeps the washer from 1) tearing up the suspension in the washer 2) keeps it from banging on the sides. Another thing I recommend is buying pantyhose and tying it to the end of the drain line these washer are not good with collecting lint and you don't wanna clog your drains in your apartment. Also if use pods do not use it on the quick wash setting dosnt give the pods enough time to fully dissolve.

    Place a knee high stocking at the end of the exhaust and leave the hose inside the apartment. 1. It will help in keeping the apartment warm during winter. 2. Apartment will smell great and 3. It will act as a humidifier during winter.

      It will also cause mold to grow over time. The humidty is absorbed by the drywall in your home. Then the dry wall grow mold. Yikes.

    • @muraga78
      @muraga78 Місяць тому

      @@postalcanary not really. I think the overall construction may affect how or when mold develops. 6 months ago my landlord remodeled my kitchen. Every single wall was removed and the drywall was in perfect condition… and I had my portable dryer already for 3 years prior my comment so, 5 years total and no mold problem either in the kitchen or around the house.

    I just wanted to give you and your husband some advice about the hose for the dryer the vent hose there's a bucket that you buy at either Lowe's or home Depot it's a five gallon bucket and it has a lid just like a paint bucket that the lid is made to hook up that hose and all you got to do in the winter time you put water in the bucket little bit of water I guess like not even three to four inches high inside the five gallon bucket and when you dry all the lint from the dryer or whatever comes out it goes into that bucket okay not only that it holds the it lets the heat warm up the apartment in the winter time but it's easy to clean you just got to make sure you don't dump it down the sink or the toilet you got to go in there by hand and take out the lints which is not going to hurt nothing you know just FYI this way you don't have to worry about the window being opened in the winter time it's a 5 gallon it looks like a paint bucket but it has a special lid for that hose right back to me and tell me if you got one of thoseusually they sell them at home Depot but I think Lowe's has them too

    Thank you for making this video. I’m just about to move to a new place and for the first time in decades I won’t have a washer dryer. Ugh. The nearest laundry mat is a 25 minute drive away. Ugh again.
    Your video was extremely informative and I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to give an honest review of the products and their operation. Now I know what to look for when I go to make a purchase. Thanks again for the invaluable education.

    The best portable washing machine out there is the Danby. I have had mine for over 4 years. It has an agitator, spins and washes wonderfully and I feel it works just as well, if not better than the larger washing machines. The newer models do not have the agitators.

    I watched your first video and was saddened with a memory. I used to have a portable washer that was like 30 years old but worked like brand new ( Sears & robuck - Maytag ). I moved into a apartment and had to leave behind, and been looking for something decent. Technically I am not supposed to have one of these, but I can disguise them like the other tenants. By watching your videos, I am going to order mine today. Thank you for your videos. P.S I think the eco mode is for the air dry function, for the heating element does not come on, only fan.

    Your lint catcher should never get that full. It will run your electric bill up, take longer to dry your clothes and will cause a fire hazard. It should be cleaned after EACH use.

    I’m in Michigan and have a similar hookup. To vent the dryer, look at Home Depot. I found a metal expandable box with holes for the fitting, I got a regular house dryer with 3 hinged plastic things so birds can’t fly in accidentally. I’m wrapping it in some reflective insulation to help keep the cold air out and make a more snug fit in the window while it’s in use. We put it in the window when using, and pull out to close the window when not in use. Occasionally we don’t vent outside and it’s safe to do that since it’s an electric dryer, we prefer a little humidity in the air at home. I’m looking for a stand to prop my dryer up a little higher, it’s sitting on the ground and that’s uncomfortable to bend down so often.

    Very well done! I’m in the market and have seen several videos and you rank among the best with your thorough explanation. As for sealing that gap in the window, no need to cut a piece of wood; you can use the same thing folks with portable air conditioners use. It’s plastic and covers the gap in the open window but has an opening to insert exhaust piping. You can easily find it.

    If you have to Chicago I know it gets cold I live in Connecticut so I know how it is in the winter it's special when that wind starts to kick in you can just do it let it sit on your your floor just put a couple of stockings over it you know those like me highs you put one on there or two to catch the lint don't do it snug let it kind of like blow up a little bit and just keep it around the neck and then you know make sure you tight around the end of it it will catch the let and you can use it like that just a suggestion and if you don't want to use that which it does work and it's of course you know how easy it is to clean that if you don't want to use that you can always get a piece of screen from Home Depot or Lowe's or whatever and just have them cut you a piece that's like 20 by 20 and then that way you'll have more to put around it so you can cut that 20 by 20 into 6 I believe it's not four and just do it loosely but make sure you tie it snugly and that's another way you can use it during the cold season Much Love-n-Peace 💜☮️💯👼🏾❣️ to you and your beautiful family young lady curly top

    Just a quick tip, or two. Your filter is in the wrong order on your dryer, and it scares me, to be honest. When you have it on, the first filter you should see is the actual lint filter screen. The other filter (exhaust filter) should be behind the lint screen, when you have it installed in the dryer. You have it the other way around, and it is VERY dangerous to do it that way. Also when you install the lint screen to the base the screen has a flat side, in the middle, and the other side has a raised notch. You want to place the lint screen on the base with the raised notch side up, facing you.. Not the flat side. That's why it was harder for you to remove the screen from the base. Other than that, good video about the washer. I was just super concerned about that dryer, and your safety on the filter thing.

    Actually if you just put a stocking (panty hose) over the end of the dryver vent, you're better off just letting the dryer vent just vent to your house during winter - the stocking catches the lint, and the warm moist air coming from the dryer lowers your heating bill (and adds moisture to dry winter air). Summer time, definitely vent outside like you are.

    @CurlyGirlGoddess do you clean the vent that is located on front when you open the door? (The curved vent just above the controls) & how?

    • @curlygirlgoddess4220
      @curlygirlgoddess4220  3 роки тому +3

      Yes i just remove it carefully because it's fragile. I didn't even know it was a vent until not to long ago. Literally found out after I made the videos lol🤦‍♀️😆🤦‍♀️

    Ok,you have 3 parts to the dryer lint catcher that go together then snap inside the dryer. You have the cage,the screen,and the cloth. I thought the screen was supposed to go onto the cage first then the cloth after. So when it's all together the air passes through the screen first then through the cloth. That is how I put mine together but I see you do it in a different order. I should find and read the directions again to make sure I'm doing it the correct way.
    Yep,there it is on page 13 of my instruction manual. What I call the "cage" is the exhaust vent shroud,the "screen" is called the lint filter,and the "cloth" is called the exhaust filter and that is the order they go together. >>>The easy way is to put the screen(lint filter) in the middle then you can't go wrong.

    I live in an apartment and have this washer on a dolly. I use a thick rubber yoga mat under the dolly and it prevents any vibration going through the floor to downstairs.. The giuy who lives under me has not complained and he is a real complainer. He came up to my apt. to complain about footsteps and it was the guy that lives one floor up from me, he also complained when I was tenderizing chicken, he was very aggressive... so he would have complined about any noise and I have heard nada from him.
