So after disposing of many store bought bags I thought enough is enough and decided to make a good quality laundry bag that I can use not once but many times.

I completely get what you are doing but I'm really struggling with all the waste. I can see putting the rose on the bag but I personally would do the rest on the stitching on a regular machine. This would prevent all that waste. This is really cute and I never would have thought if using a lace curtains for a mesh bag! I will be making a few of these in the future. Thank you, Jane! I am really thankful that you took some time to leave a comment. I think you are right about the waste, it was a lot of garbage left. But on the other hand, I would throw away the curtain anyway. And I reuse all the small pieces of stabilizer also. I could make the bag on a regular sewing machine of course, and I think everybody can use my tutorial for that also. I just wanted to try this new technique for making something really useful.
